Defy is surprisingly sleek looking, light weight and not a tank looking phone. Compare its size to the iphone 3gs or any iphone and it is smaller to hold in your hand and lighter. I am a phone junkie I know.
Defy size is 107x59x13.4 and weighs 118g while the iphone size is 115.5x62.1x13.3 and weighs 135g.
I opened the compare link in the specs from gsmarena defy specs (link below)

Dude, this phone is designed for RUGGED use, water proof, and other "tough" condition.
You want a thin phone you can always go for XT701 or XT720, if you don't need the "toughness".

It's weird how this phone is basically the same thickness as the Motorla Milestone 2. I mean the Motorola Milestone 2 has a QWERTY keypad so that's acceptible. But why is this so thick?

This is the closest as it gets to my perfect Android Phone (FroYo is missing)
It's durable (I'm no fan of carrying bags)
It's lite (heavy as HTC Magic)
It's compact (smallest Android phone /w capacitive screen)
Screen is just right size (3.7" is perfect for 854x480)
Has nice shape
Very important: has Cortex-A8 based SoC - OMAP 3610
has 512MB of system memory
Has flash (it's LED, but better than nothing!)
Cam is only 5MP (OMPA 3610 supports 12MP cameras), but OMAP has the best imaging algorithms (much better than Qualcomm's "Scorpion" family)
I was awaiting for proper replacement for my HTC Magic, and this is it!

Moto CEO said they will put everything as moto highest technology in that phone and promise a video front camera. If that 2Ghz come with Lifeproof mean waterproof and so on like Moto Defy then Moto will win against LG, Samsung and HTC 2Ghz.

HTC EVO 4G, HTC Desire, Motorola
DROID, Motorola DROID X and
Motorola DROID 2 are all certified to
run Flash but not any devices that pack Froyo are able to run flash 10.
Moto Defy is running 2.1 but rich the requirement to run 2.2 and flash 10 and will surely get Froyo in the near futur. But some devices even with Froyo still need to get certified by adobe to be running flash 10.
If you read my previews post, I said Defy run 2.1 and got flash 3.
