today i will go to buy defy...but i have some questions pls help:
1- scratch resistant ??
2- battery?
3- can upgrade to 2.3 or not?
4- what about the processor ...i saw that many persons said : can upgrade to 1 ghz ??
5- the important : there is any problems with the upgrade operation out u.s.a like motorola quench or not??

AnonD-14164, 26 Aug 2011hey ... motorola defy or Acer liquid Metal?? which is bette... moreComparing the defy with the Acer liquid mt,i see that defy has a lot of better features than the acer... in fact, the defy is waterproof(can be submerged to about little more than a meter in the water). well i see that the defy is much lighter than the liquid... so, it will feel light in your hand... by the way, the defy comes with 2 gigs inbuilt memory... and the liquid dosent have radio... so i bet you will like the defy more...

I too selected Defy & Wildfire S earlier but choose wildfire S for latest OS. but with my experience i will strongly recommand Defy.
Android is Superb. Anyone wants to select the android phone, do check these primary criteria. Atleast 1500 mha battery, large internal memory (Very important) and excellent screen resolution, sturdy hardware. Android 2.2 is more than enough for all sorts of Applications & Games.

For those asking about Defy+ (Defy Plus), it is not released yet, but is supposed to be better, using the same chipset clocked at 1Ghz, and will come with Android 2.3 and a higher capacity battery (1700mah) no other improvements over the current model has been announced except some slight cosmetic upgrades

I am willing to buy an android phone, but I am con... moreMotorola Defy uses 800mhz TI OMAP 3630 (supports 1Ghz) and supports 10 point multi touch, is scratch resistant, water resistant, and has 3.7" screen with resolution 480 x 854, battery 1540mah...
so i say it is definitely better than the HTC wildfire which has only 600mhz processor, barely supports multitouch(only 2 point), small 3.2" screen, resolution of 320 x 480, battery only 1200mah (Defy is also much better than Acer Liquid)

The Defy CPU is TI OMAP3 architecture OMAP3630 (same chipset as Nokia N9, Nokia N950, Motorola Milestone 2,Motorola Cliq 2, Pre 2, Droid X, Droid 2, Archos 101, Archos 70, Archos 43, Archos 32, Archos 28, LG Optimus Black, Samsung I9003 Galaxy S)
And it has a GPU PowerVR SGX530. It also supports 10 point multi-touch (confirmed)

AnonD-16681, 18 Aug 2011help me plz... i do need a android to access my medical bo... moreDude... you dont need a phone with a faster processor... the processor inbuilt in the defy is already that good... what you need is to overclock that processor... the defy is really cool, and works great... only overclock it to about 1.2ghz... it will last for a day or two with full usage... no problems with overclocking... some samsung phones cant be overclocked... but thank god, the defy supports overclocking... ;)

defy never going to tase 2.3 this year...bcoz defy+ anounced...only20•/• chance exist even in next year
