      AnonD-6546, 20 Apr 2011Defy in india dont have MotoBlur which i feel is the sole r... moreI made some (20-25) photos just yesterday in the park near my apartment (trees, flowers, people walking by, some macro shots) and all I can say on my PC in full resolution they look as good or even slightly better than similar photos made with Nokia N97 mini/Nokia X6 (thou it's true it can't even compare with, for example, N8) - moving subjects are less noisy with Defy than with most other mobile shooters due to presence of image stabilization, but it's also true Defy tends to slightly underexpose some photos unless made in perfect conditions - also photos appear slightly darker than in average shooter (most other shooters in this price range make photos appear more brighter than they should be). Finally, for everyday personal use you definitely won't need anything more than Defy, but if you need to print huge posters or you're pro - you should definitely look somewhere else (and pay more $ :)

                Defy in india dont have MotoBlur which i feel is the sole reason for the awesome battery life . it last 2-3 days easily with moderate use .

                Camera is a big let down , one of the worst i'd say . it takes blurry pictures . it cane be irritating at times . one paid close to 20k for the phone but still you get a below average cam :|

                Also where Moto is behind other brands is their atfer sale support which aint good . Its not long when defy was launched , when their were phones with 2.3 gingerbread but god knows why Motorola launched their so called high end phone with old 2.1 eclairs OS and update to froyo is still not out in most of the country .

                          @Anonymous: Cheers :)

                          @Rishirich: Dunno about rooting Defy (I opted to keep my warranty for the time being), but it's obviously doable as not only there is 2.3.3 unofficial ROM now - there is latest CyanogenMod 7 port for Motorola Defy on xda-developers forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033654 And official 2.3 upgrade not being confirmed yet doesn't mean it's not gonna happen.

                          @mobile_lover: as for latin america 2.2 is released in time and is "Upgrade to Android 2.2 now rolling out in phases." so it's probably local operators that slow that process and not Motorola. As for Asia-Pacific, Europe etc. there are no signs of any possible delay :) and if you want to check for yourself: http://goo.gl/oNe3

                            I bought my Defy in Singapore. My phone did not come with a process to register with Motorblur. I also do not have voice text input in my keyboard. How do I get these features?

                                      Can we root/ install custom ROM's? I have read that they have locked bootloaders and rooting it will brick the phone.

                                      It's important cause the phone won't receive 2.3 update.
