hmmm... touch lag... well, if you buy Defy with motoblur it is very likely that you'll sometimes experience slight lag (fractions of a second) when sliding between home-screens or navigating main menu - however, it's confirmed to be 100% motoblur launcher related so ANY popular alternative free launcher from android market will work as smooth as silk (at least it worked for me) - but I returned to motoblur's launcher as I don't find it to be that disturbing (I was Nokia user so take this with a grain of salt:)... finally, froyo upgrade is just around the corner and it's extremely likely that this minor issue will be completely solved with it.
I hope this will be helpful to you :)

        Bluetooth problem solved!
The issue is after initiating file transfer, the dialog is not shown and found under home screen menu key press notifications, there you need to open it and 'Accept'.

9tin9t5, 16 Apr 2011What if i dnt buy defy? Whch are anodr fone jst as gud as ... moreNokia C7 and Galaxy Ace are a no-go. If you're looking for a rugged android smartphone than you have absolutely no choice as Defy is the only one on the market. If you don't care much for quality materials or ruggedness you could go for Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (upgradeable to android 2.3 but very glossy, easily scratched and cheep plastic casing) which is a bit more expensive or you could go for SE Xperia X10 (will get android 2.3 but X10 has less RAM than Defy and may not be sufficient even if you're not a power user). If dimensions are a factor - Defy again wins hands down as it's extremely compact considering 3.7'' screen. It all depends on what you're looking for...

              I bought this yesterday.
Bluetooth seems to be not working.
I was able pair with my Samsung phone but file transfer fails. Anybody faced this issue ? any solution ?

9tin9t5, 16 Apr 2011What if i dnt buy defy? Whch are anodr fone jst as gud as ... moreIf u increase your budget you can buy Samsung Galaxy S I9000 or you can buy Galaxy Ace which is slightly cheaper than Defy. Don't go for Nokia. You will get much more apps in Android. Symbian is dying.

AnonD-5039, 16 Apr 2011Wow!! ur experience with Defy is much different with what t... moreevery glass can be broken - Gorilla Glass included, but Gorilla Glass is always better than normal glass or any enhanced plastic that most models in this price-range use. Some very small amount of people do get units that are not as good as they should be, but if you take a look at ALL other manufacturers and models you'll see all the same story 'cause: when you manufacture millions of handsets from a lot of different parts from different manufacturers some parts WILL always turn out to be somewhat problematic. Some devices are more likely to break down than others, but from my experience: Defy is not among them.
As for software upgrades/bug fixes- for my Defy they delivered one upgrade/bug fix (not android version upgrade) so far, but that can differ from country to country and from out-of-package-software version of your device.

I read on some forums that people have cracked the screen after it fell just 2-3 feet down. Some have even cracked while charging. I guess the experience differs from person to person.

Have they released any software upgrades/bug fixes?(not OS upgrades)

CyanogenMod 7 for the Motorola Defy is currently in development. That means you can experience Gingerbread on the Defy with the CyanogenMod ROM. Over the last 4 days, the developer Quarx has turned CM7 from pre-Alpha to a Beta1 status. Follow the stunning development here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033654

For instance if you flash a ME525 firmware on a MB525 one, your flashlight will be overvolted and eventually die (FOREVER!)
In other words, the ME525 uses more voltage than the MB525.

yeah d fone is scratchable.. dont kno wt gorilla glass display does if it cant even resist some scrathces.. maybe moto dsnt use GGD, just claims to do so..

the battery is also a concern.. mine dsnt last a full 24hrs.. disappointed.. the brightness is 3% only.. even them max 15hrs of battery life..

rest the phone is fine.. water proofing i tested.. came out wid flying colors.. bt got scratched as soon as i dropped it.. damned moto.. n d processor slows down a bit wen downloading some apps..

rest the phone seems to be fine.. d camera is not too bad, and d images can be improved considerably thru d kodak image improvement app..
