Yes, to switch off the radio just tap on headphone icon placed in between '-' and '+' sign, present at the bottom of the radio screen.

For all u candy @s*s who hav galaxy s n r talkin trash bout defy go do sum research cuz defy is "BAAP" of sgs in every aspect apart 4m screen.Defy processor is same of milestone2 bt undrclokd dnt kno y bt Ive read it on some site dat moto has some strategy behind this. And dis is nt enough defy processor cn b overclokd to 1.3 ghz and have TIOMAP 3630 chipset insted of 3610 and PowerVr SGX530 gpu(confirmed myself on 3 diff sites). And defy is extremely moddable phone n der r numerous roms for defy changing its appearence from custom froyo to wp7! And those who r talkin dat defy cant play or record 720p WIDEN UR EYES N OPEN UR MOUTH coz defy can do dat too. its via hack bt still it can do dat. N now for flash10.1 defy will have it when updated or if u have little patience like me den install a mod rom froyo. Now if im nt wrong den i hav proven dat defy is nt underdog to sgs. with all dat power under its hood n lifeproof(nt completely bt somewhat satisfying)+led flash+tough rugged look+few hundred buck lesser n can do almost anything den who wud buy sgs for merely .3" large super duper amoled screen n those who buy sgs wud b super duper dumb or super duper rich, after all its ur money use it wisely or throw in garbage who gives a DAMN!!

This is THE ONLY heavy duty rugged android smartphone on the market. It can withstand heavy misuse and still work flawlessly, so it's exceptionally well built + it has by far THE BEST CELL reception of all smartphones available in the world + it's extremely compact + it can flawlessly do AT LEAST 90% of all the things Galaxy SL can. To put it simple to you: Samsung SL is something like a very fast slick new sports car (lets say Hyundai) and Motorola Defy is the best Range Rover with all extra equipment. YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE THAT HAVING (LETS SAY) 10% WORSE ACCELERATION MAKES RANGE ROVER WORSE CAR THAN SOME SPORT HYUNDAI. I bought my Defy and I'm delighted with it. You should obviously buy Galaxy SL - so go buy it and share your experiences with Galaxy SL's users. Don't go on, let's say, Range Rovers web site and tell people thay should have bought a sports car 'cause it goes 20mph faster than Range rover - that's lame and stupid... that's trolling...

Does someone else has issues with connecting to a WPA2-AES encrypted entwork with the SSID broadcast disabled? The phone that I tested was connecting okay for the first time, but after it comes back from sleep is not connecting anymore?!? Other then that, the phone is very ... fluid.

Galaxy sl has super cleare lcd display but defy has only normal tft screen,galaxy sl has dedicated graphical,processer but in defy not officialy mentioned,galaxy sl capable to play all format as galaxy s play at 720p and also 720p video recording but defy does not play or recored 720p and does not offer rich formate support as galaxy sl and galaxy s.supprt,galaxy sl also have secondary camera and android 2.2 upgradable to 2.3 but defy has 2.1 upgrading in 2nd quater of the year and not upgrading to 2.3, galaxy sl has 5.1surrounding sound,pinch in zoom dedicated video and audio player and touch wizard 3.0 (touchwiz3.0 is year ago with motoblur and best customizable home replacement stand no. one with htc sence)also motoblur not come with defy in india,galaxy sl support hug audio format sa galaxy s or galaxy 3 support but defy supported only few and galaxy sl has samsung app store actually galaxy sl 9003 is a galaxy s with 4gb internal memory,superclear lcd instead of super amoled as we add external memory card upto 32 gb in sl so lower intenal memory in sl with respect to galaxy s not matter and super lcd is best class in lcd and it has brighter than super amoled but deep black level of super lcd slighty lower than su-amoled so both factor compensate each other.third factor of su-amoled to consumed less power than super clear lcd is compensate by fact that galaxy sl has 1650mAh battery than galaxy s 1500mAh battery so we can assumed galxy sl as galaxy s if above fact consider and you know galaxy s vs defy which is better and hence galaxy sl is better in every aspect as it has same specification as galaxy s. only in some area galaxy sl differ with galaxy s explained above not a big thing and essential for price cut down in india galaxy sl available for Rs.19000 and in http://mobileshop.co.in/cart.php?addid=1670 price is Rs.15000 (includingVAT,other taxesand shipping charge) cheaper than defy if buy from online above website or cost Rs.500-1000 if buy from local.

AS for battery It is claimed talktime not tested as in case of defy. Additionally, it has a quite weak loudspeaker and does not have a flash.

Don't / can't understand why people keep complaining about the headphone jack. I have been using mine since late Dec and not a single issue at all.
