I was just checking out Howardforums.com re:motorola fones. They have a volume of info on the E398. I am not a computer geek so much it is alien to me. I am just curious though as to the differences in the S/W versions of the fones, mine is 34R, and some of those guys flashed and flexed their fones. What is that exactly?

hey this phone's got problems with software,two months after buying it it does not display mp3 files & video files even when it is there in the trans flash card,can some body tell why?

i am planning to buy E 398 shortly. can any one tell me that "can i store messages in phone memory instead of sim memory?"
also,is its processor real fast enough or is quite slow? plz compare processor speed with Nokia 6600 if possible.

To ^_^x - good to hear that we have the same experience with the vibe sync ON/OFF so that is normal hehehe. as for the other prob on pics, i hope motorola answers my email so i can share it here too. happy new year to all!!

To Aris-I had that problem with an animated GIF I got from a friend...the resolution was 500x400, and he sent it through his 6230..I don't know why it happened though.
To Smooth-Get the card reader...it will be much easier and faster to use.
To Prakash-go to www.howardforums.com, search there for instructions on how to upload games onto the phone.
To Aris-Yup...it's louder with vibesync on...that's because you can hear the bass claerly with vibesync on.

hi guys,
got 2 new observations in using my E398.
1. When vibe sync is ON, the music played(midi or mp3) is louder than when it is OFF. do u guys have the same experience? please please can u check...thanks
2.When transferring mp3 files with more than 32 character filename...pls change it to a shorter one before transfer via cable.A dialog box will appear saying that you must change and click ok. But what happens is that you will be able to transfer the mp3 but will not see it and it has consumed a portion of free space.basically, the file is in the phone but cant be viewed and used.

Can somebody please tell me how to upload an application or game from pc to motorola 398, cos i have not been able to do so. what game file type it supports.

This is a great phone as far as features is concerned, but i am having problems with the phone tools supplied. Though I drag and drop audio files to and from the phone, the phone will just terminate the connection. The IT of motorola advised me to reinstall the phone tools software but the problem persisted after a while. I might just opt for the SD card reader instead.

To Shabbbar - yes i do use the sw that came with the phone(though at times it is so hard dealing with cable connections).lucky ur not having any problems with the pics transferred.
To ^_^x - yes, ur right it is not a resol or size prob coz i can open a 110kb (transferred via cable) without any problem BUT for a 103kb pic(from k700i)...too large to open. it's so weird.im alrdy using 96r but still have the problem.

aris if u want to load photos to yr phone upload it through the MPT software included with the phone ,u wont have any problem then . about transfering from a k700 , i do it everyday cuse thats my brother cell and have not faced any problem till date

To Andy-it doesn't get as warm as my older phones, which were all Nokias.
To Francesco-there is actually a white cover available...in that version, evetyhing black becomes white and the metallic strip around the phone becomes red. And it's actually not as bulky as some people would think it is.
To Aris-I've encountered this as well although I'm not sure if this problem is because of the pictures size or resolution.
To Sammy-you can get the camcorder to work but you'll lose the ability to use the transflash.
To SAMBA SIVA PATNAIK-the phone's actually not useless...at least for me...I've found it very useful specially when I get bored or something..the games are great and no phone can beat the mp3 playing capabilities of this phone. And regarding the phonebook, I admit it could be a lot better but you just have to know how to use it properly and it won't be so labyrinthian at all. ^_^x
To motofreak-I agree! My friends all want a piece of my phone whenever they see it! Hehe! ^_^x

useless?? u call this fon useless?? then wat fon is usefull then?? e398 has so many functions and still so cheap, u say it is useless?? btw, one of its important function is to stunn friends ok??!?

this phone is good for those who wanna stun frens and gain upper hand. apart from that, it is useless. the phone book is like a labyrinh and i recommend this phone only to people with a columbus or vasco da gama spirit. for lesser mortals, this ph is a strict no no.

hi guys!
m a new user of the E398 and i do encountered some problems that maybe some of you experienced already and may help me resolve it.
i transfered a picture via bluetooth from a friend's k700i to my e398. i was able to accept it and when i tried opening it...an error msg says "too large to open". i also encountered this same problem when i tried to transfer a pic from pc to my moto. any clues on this? does motorola have a file size limit or resolution limit on the pics it can display?

I'm still thorn between a v180 , a v300 , a v547 and this (e398) .. what keeps me from buying it is only that it's a bit bulky , while other's small dimesion is quite attractive .... what do you other guys think about it ?
If it only had a white cover i would have been more convinced.. the black cover it's so bulk..
