shabbar,
nope. the rubbery feel just isnt there. feels like your typical hard plastic. its main body had a glossy pearl like luxurious finish. it has a deep red, more burgundy-like accent instead of the stainless steel "motorola strip" on the sides of the black version. i think they designed different housings for different market segments.

hey guys i found out that .jar files doesn't work in any mobile phones in order to get it working u gotta' change it to .jad then only you'll be able to install them and play it..so all u need to do is get the jadgen converter..which the link is posted somewhere in here and generate it to the .jad file..if u hav any question just about this matter post it here..

sophia, you can try requesting for the red and silver version but i understand globe has no control on the variety of stocks motorola gives them. to increase your chances of getting a red one, i suggest you reach all the globe business centers by landline first and try reserving. am sure these pros will only be to happy to oblige. the other way to do it is perhaps talk with the motorola dealer to send a red unit to the globe business branch you prefer. the motorola dealer is at the 30th floor of the IBM building in Libis. they have another onesomewhere at the glorietta. by the way, you still pay 9k even if you pay in cash for the g text plan. or about 16k for a prepaid unit.

Sorry Fye but I have no idea, maybe you should phone motorola and tell them about that, it could be that your network removes that feature like some do with the Java app loader but I don't think so. Please let me know what motorola said but I think they will probably need to reload your software.
To Sam the best way to apply a mp3 as a ringtone is through the mobile phone tools provided, there you can edit the mp3 so only the portion that you want can be your ringtone and it will be stored directly to the phone memory.
Just remember to change the USB connection to data/fax.

dear sophia, tomorrow is the final day that globe is offering this unit postpaid with a g text plan(p500/mo) at P9,000 upto 18 months to pay interst free on major credit cards. if you have either visa or mastercard, the most you can get is only 6 months interest free. you get the full 18 months with BPI. there are no available housings yet according to the motorola dealer. i'm lucky to have a rare silver and red unit. ordinarilly the unit comes in black. the e398 will cost upto P20k if you purchase the unit from a reputable source. so grab the globe deal TODAY!!!!!

Firstly to transfer mp3's & other files is as easy as with any removeable device.
Here's how:
1 Turn phone on
2 Go to menu->settings->connection->USB setings and change the default connection to memory card.
3 Plug in the USB cable @ your PC then your phone, after you've done that your phone should display the message: "Unplug USB to access memory card" the card should appear as a removeable hard drive open it and you should see a file named moble open mobile and you should see couple of self explanatory files then you can just copy what you want to the memory card.
To copy mp3's with the mp3 maker software provided follow steps 1 & 2 and then start the program.
To Sophia check if the BT power is on Settings->connection->Bluetooth->settings. Because if the BT power is off the phone only switches it on for 1 minute.
To Jake the switching on & off of the keypad lights is a feature not a defect the phone has built in light sensors and if it detects there is sufficient lighting available it turns the keypad lights off to save battery power, the on and off switching is caused by the position of your fingers shadows etc. Try typing in the dark and you will notice that the lights stay on.
