I am very interested to buy this fone ;~)
I just wanted to know...pls help me out:
wats the MAX capacity of the Mem card, this fone supports (does it support upto 512MB)?
can we get a 512MB card in the market?
How to use the in-built modem feature to connect to the Internet from our Computer?
Any patches to Enable Video-recording / FM?
pls provide any possible suggestions at all.

Yea..indeed a cool hp...very cheap with this kind of feature...but how come sumtime it can be auto off? do i have to service it? i just bought this hp few weeks ago...
another thing is...it has like "189 bytes transferred" keeps on appearing on my screen...its like 3 times per 1 hr...y is it like that? it happens after i activated my gprs..any idea fellow friends?

unfortunately, it doesnt take any videos but its capable of playback. its nice but it takes time to get used to its interface moreover if you're shifting from either a nokia or a sony ericsson. nevertheless, its a big improvement for a motorola phone. its quite user-friendly now but the manuals still lack information. it doesnt help that much so its up to you to be adventurous and try everything out.

I have Motorola A1000, i tried ti install modem USB and it says problem installing modem,device wil not work properly. Error code 10.Can u help please.

Lawrence : u cant set the mp3's on ur T-flash card as ringtones. But u can certainly play them on the player. How else would this phone be known as a Music Jukebox. One of its few Major features. nevertheless the phones rockin ... for its price. again Audio being its strong point.

Cheap & Good. I just paid S$278 + S$18 M1 M Card and got this phone with no contract (use for my second line). The functions may be not so user friendly as Nokia but after a while got used to it.
First, the phone built quality are quite solid unlike Nokia phone nowadays are more plastic.
Second, the screen are quite big ecept the logo cannot be remove (but at least it can shift to left corner). How nice the date display also be remove.
Third, it has bluetooth (cheap and yet got bluetooth). Easy to transfer pic/files. But cannot receive large size pic.
Fourth, it has memory card expandable capability-can store many photos but unfortunately cannot record videos (can playback).
Fifth, it camera night mode seems has no effect-so always have to set to auto. No good camera for indoor but outdoor ok.
Sixth.....
Overall, it's a good value phone. Cheap & yet good. No budgets for expensive phone, can try this E398.

hey lawrence. mebbe there's something wrong with your fone... or you can try this. when you connect your phone to the computer it should show as a new drive e.g. e: etc. when you open that drive you should see a few folders including one named 'audio'. paste your mp3 files in that folder. if the mpe player does not detect the songs then you need to have your fone checked....

very satisfied with this phone - higly customizable , lot of games / apps / themes around , carry the v398 firmware upgrade possibility in ( quad band ) , voice memo can be activated ...
good ringing tones and system ..
very good phone too..

hey Lawrence that's totally out of line man! maybe there's something wrong with your phone or you just haven't figured out how to do it. well actually there isn't anything to figure out. obviously the phone can play mp3 stored on Tflash card using mp3 player app. tht's the whole point of the Tflash card. to be able to store stuff. and if u can't play em then thts obviously dumb. guess your phone needs a check up dude.
my phone has abt 25 songs on the card and i play them using the mp3 player app with no problemo.

hey lawrence,
thats not true. i have some 30 songs stored on my t flash card. i can play them all using mp3 player. assign them to playlist.

E398 can't play mp3 using mp3 player from the flash card, that's the main dissatisfaction i have. E398 users have to save those songs into the phone to play mp3 by using the function, IT IS BAD ENOUGH!! don't you think so??!!

Hi!
I recently bought a Motorola E398, and I'm overall satisfied with the phone, but I'm having some problems with it...
- the main way to search for other bluetooth devices does not work (only if you choose to copy a file to another device and then, in this menu, choose to search for decives)
- after some hours of use, the phone does not recognize what is in the Transflash anymore. A message "General system error" is shown and the phone says that the TF is full, even though is not. Then the phone does not show the files from the TF. The problem is corrected only after hours and a lot of restarts...
Does anybody have this kind of problem too? Can I correct these with a SW update???

I know that the E398 supposed to compete with the K700 (and beats it senseless hands down), but how does it compare to the K750 that was just recently released? I'm aware that it has more features but it probably still has bugs in it because it's first gen. But I definitely like the style of the E398 better than any K7XX!! I'm to buy a phone the next two weeks. Anyone please comment!!

i just bought this phone from Germanos and i'm very disapointed 'coz they didn't gave me the memory card and the usb cable.it's not right that somebody else bought the phone at the same price with the cable and card too!they are not profesional at all!sooo don't make my mistake,chose another dealer!..but still it's a great phone.Very good sounds and pictures!

can anyone tell me if they have successfully used this phone as a modem? ie via a data cable connected to your laptop and accessed the web through your phone network provider
