The Edge S is a China-only phone whereas the Moto G100 is the Global version of the Edge S for the European market. Since Google was banned in China, there are no Google Play services in it.

I am really tempted to get this phone mainly because of its attractive price and also the Ready For Desktop Mode feature. But I'm still wondering whether to buy this China version or the Global Moto G100 version.

1. It only supports the English and Chinese Language. (not that big of a problem)
2. Google is not integrated. (you can install it manually)
3. Your phone might show internet issues. (some Chinese version don't support LTE band

I just got this phone in America and it's great! Cheaper than the G100 and essentially the same phone, albeit a bit lacking in domestic 5G support.
Also important to note is that there is no Google initial setup as there is with phones intended for the US and global markets because Google is banned in China. In order to use the Play Store and Google services, you must copy the Play Store APK from a computer and sideload it on the phone using the file browser included with the phone. Then you manually install and setup your apps as you desire through the Store.
After all that, you're golden. I routinely get 100-200 Mbps download on T-Mobile LTE and WiFi calling and VoLTE are supported!

Hey, Can someone plz tell me if Moto Edge S and G100 are the same thing, why do we have a lot of difference in their Antutu scores? Like Edge S is 100K ahead of G100.
Someone explain please.

IPS can have PWM as well, but frequency is at least 10 times higher than OLEDs normally (2500 Hz vs ~250 Hz) and also happens only at a much lower brightness levels than OLED. but if course only testing can tell for a fact.

i'm sick of A... moreI bought one (pre-order) from China and had it imported to Canada. For the same reason, where AMOLED gives me eyestrain. And I need a good speedy phone for work. This hit all the boxes.
It took me awhile to get all the chinese shit disabled/removed and get all the google stuff on, but I have it working now. Just waiting for a global rom to replace the factory setting, and I'll be golden. Other than that, its the best phone I've owned since the OG Pixel XL
