Even though this phone performs very nice, no major update since the release is a disappointment. They offered quick updates, but it is about one year, only two-three security patch updates received.

I was going to buy a Samsung phone but when i read the reviews that said this phone was significantly better than the Samsung model, I decided to get the Motorola. I'm very happy with the phone. It does everything and more. I notice in previous reviews complain about small things which seem so trivial. It's a budget phone, it does a fantastic job, very responsive with lots of nice features. I ended up buying another one less than a week after my first purchase for my wife.

If... moreFirst I said Moto will get quick updates not honor read again, second moto has better aperture true hardwade is good but image processing system is not that good sometime its good and sometime worst (zoom in) like hit or a miss also I own g5 plus thats why I'm writing this also honor has slightly better camera setup in comparison btw Moto and honor camera I will go with honor (for camera) third 625 vs kirin 659 performance is good on both but 659 is designed and made by honor so they are well optimized with there phone regarding ram management and gaming Moto goes ahead.. rest if you really wanna buy this device in 2018 then I would say go with other brand if u r thinking g5 plus has f1.6 aperture so it will perform like S6/S7 then my friend u r wrong think twice before buying this specially for camera rest is your choice

If you look at the actual hardware (aperture and lens size) the G5 Plus has an advantage. Snapdragon has historically been top of the midrange processors from the 625 all the to 660. What made you say Honor's SoC is better? I also disagree with Honor having faster updates. That's actually not true in my opinion. The fact that EMUI is a heavy skin of Android that makes it slower and again historically Honor has been slow with updates.

If you would have said $200, then I would have said no, because for example the Honor 7X is being sold for $199 (and a lot of other phones now) and with the same kinda price they offer more. There are a lot of midrange phones (used to be $400-500) from last year offered now at budget price so keep an eye out for them, and probably more budget phones are just about to be released in the next few months.

Purchased moto g5 plus in 1st February since signal quality is not good as moto g 1st gen... I had rebooted the device... But problems not solved, especially 2 g signal are very week

Gino76, 20 Feb 2018The Honor 9 Lite phone in the UK have been having really gr... moreIn term of speaker I think honor has slightly better speaker , camera moto has good camera hardware but I feel IPS is not good that's while honor has dual camera setup regarding low light almost same result or minor diff bcoz of hardware and software, video department moto has EIS while honor has no OIS/EIS support , regarding performance 659 vs sd625 mixed results 659 is better in performance while average in Ram management while moto ram management is okay but in gaming 625 performance better than 659 , moto says splash and dust resistant, regarding updates moto has stock ROM bit on 7.0 upgradable to 8.0 while honor has custom rom EMUI on Android 8.0 moto will get slightly quick updates

no special feature (except moto action which are useless)
no led notification
no compass
with 3gb ram it costed Rs 15000...too costly
its flash light is yellowish
power button is weak
Moto is a piece of garbage

This is a great budget phone. Good performance, battery life is good. Doesn't lag or hang (so far) but the camera is disappointing. Phones that cost less than Moto G5 Plus have a better camera. Otherwise it's a good buy.
