Namelesss, 09 May 2019Please is there an option similar to Samsung's easy mode on... moreNot really. There is an 'accessibility menu' that can be activated which adds an additional on-screen button in the lower right corner of the screen that, when touched, brings up a menu with large (and these can even be enlarged), easy-to-see icons for common functions like volume control, screen lock, brightness control, power button, recent apps, quick settings, notifications, and screenshot. But it doesn't even have a 'phone' or 'contacts' icon on it, which I imagine seniors would be looking for the most in this kind of setup. There also doesn't seem to be a way to add more icons, such as 'phone,' to it, so it's quite limited. So from what I can see it's not really like Samsung's 'Easy Mode.'

You might be able to approximate something similar and set it up for them by changing font size and changing the home screen grid from 5x5 to 4x5 icons, and adding custom icons on the home screen for things like 'phone' or 'contacts,' among other things. But they could easily mess it up if they hold their finger too long in one place and drag an icon off the screen somewhere, or some similar snafu, as they might not be used to a touchscreen. I also do not see a way to lock home screen icons in place. My mom couldn't even stand using a simple Nokia 1100, let alone a touchscreen smartphone.

Please is there an option similar to Samsung's easy mode on this phone, something that will make the phone usage easier for seniors, I'd like to get this phone for my grandmother. Thanks in advance for your help.

Coming from a moto e4 plus...

-Bigger screen is welcome and the notch doesn't bother me like i thought it would. Just holds the little icons and clock.
-Nice and fast for everyday stuff
-Battery can last through a heavy day of use which matters most since I always charge at the end of each day.
-Has band 71 which t-mobile has already rolled out in my area and I've noticed my phone uses when in rural areas that tmobile never had coverage in before.
-Camera has stabilization when recording which is really sweet and its neat to see 4k recording. Picture quality is very nice in good lighting. Not the best in low, but I wouldn't expect it to be much better for the price of the phone and all the other features.

A bit sad that europe gets nfc, 1gb more ram, and 32gb more storage, but I'm happy to have the splash proofing and gorilla glass as a trade off since my everyday life can be a bit rough on phones and the cases i buy for them. Very nice phone that I'd recommend to anyone on either a budget or just looking for a great phone with a battery to survive heavy use.

jimmy, 23 Apr 2019I have issues with my Moto G7 power, some websites I cannot... moreHi Jimmy its not the phones fault stop visiting untrusted websites to prevent getting these pop ups, to fix issue just close the browser, go to your phone settings your applications, find the browser you use and once inside, find the storage and clear data. Than back out once and force stop or force close the app, leave your settings and once you open the browser as you normally would the issue would be fixed, your browser would start like brand new but gets rid of your problem. As mentioned its not your phone its the sites you visit which have these pop ups and gets worse if you open or download any content from them. Have a good day!

BLS NE, 23 Apr 2019I was used to fingerprint sensor on the front but it takes ... moreThe reason I prefer it on the front is that I usually leave it flat on my desk at work, usually an arm's length away, and have to pick it up to unlock the screen by either touching the fingerprint sensor or looking at the screen. I have to lean directly over the screen rather quickly to unlock it via face unlock or type in a PIN if I want to leave it on the desk. I don't always have to pick the phone up, but it would be nice to be able to unlock the screen while it's on the desk to read a text or email or whatever notification happens to come in but quickly disappears because moto display lights up the screen for all of two seconds.

If the fingerprint sensor was on the front I could just touch that wherever the phone is sitting without having to lean over it so that it sees my face or lift it up off the desk. The chin area is still there, and I guess Apple has a monopoly on the way to get rid of that, so they could've put the narrower fingerprint sensor from the G6 or G6 Plus there.

I hadn't paid much attention to it, because they're not really advertised and don't get much exposure, at least as far as I've seen, but I've noticed that Sony still puts notification LEDs in nearly every phone they produce. Many of them also have NFC. Problem is, apparently they haven't yet noticed that band 71 is a thing, and it's getting more widespread coverage lately. And having more than one or two phones that work on all major US networks might help, too. They also need to move those fingerprint sensors from the side and back of the phone and put it below or beneath the display, especially since a lot of their phones have broad blank chins, much larger than ones like on the G7 Power. Then I might consider getting an Xperia phone instead.

jimmy, 23 Apr 2019I have issues with my Moto G7 power, some websites I cannot... moreYes. It is a malware. It attacks other phones too. Somehow it keeps some websites locked, then asks for installing some chrome extension.
Beware!!! those recommended extensions are very deadly malwares. If installed those will send 100s of sms from your phone, costing all your balance.

This is really a great phone indeed. just wish it had NFC and a notification LED, and that the fingerprint sensor was on the front like on most of the previous Moto's from the G5 Plus to the G6.

I've been using this phone (US/unlocked) for two weeks and it's 85% as good as Samsung 10+ for 25% percent of the price and has 161% of the battery life. Supports all US carriers. The battery does add a little bulk but I can get 5, yes, 5!! days of light to moderate use on 1 charge. Once you use a big battery phone you can't go back. I don't care for the notch but I can live with it.

I think Moto chooses phone specs by throwing darts at a wall but somehow they did pretty well with this one. I like it quite a lot.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2019Try Mi Max 3Doesn't fit the bill. Has rear fingerprint sensor, doesn't have all the US bands, etc. Looks like the closest Xiaomi phone to what I'd consider the perfect phone is perhaps the Mi Mix 3, but it doesn't have band 71 and costs an arm and a leg.

The Galaxy S7 comes closer, but still doesn't have everything I'd want in a phone.

The G7 Power is doing quite well, though. Battery still at 87% right now from 100% 14 hours ago.
