Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970The V8 is a fashion/style phone so its more on looks than anything else. If you start comparing it to the W910 it loses on almost all fronts except the build quality and maybe the crystal clear technology.

Let's see, the W910 has a radio, memory slot for extra memory (of course the V9 has this), a larger and more crisp screen, HSDPA (V9) and if you care about this, a walkman interface.

Honestly the strong points of the V8 are the slim form factor coupled with its excellent build quality and maybe the crystal clear technology- though I must say after testing it with Nokia and Sony Ericsson mobiles the difference is negligible, hence I say maybe.

Personally I love the V8 for its build quality that you don't easily get from other manufacturers and the thinness of course.

after having the RAZR2 V8 for 3 months the phone is very likeable, takes some use to getting use to the navigation and things, i have had to send the phone in for repair because some of the keys were hard to press and other keys when you hit them, were double tapping, other than that it is a solid well made phone and is crystal clear in the speaker department., i have heard of other users of this phone having trouble with the key pad, so i hope motorola gets this issue lined out. they do stand behind their products.

Very nice phone with largest external screen(very high resolution too) and let you do lot of things with clip closed, for a everage user, the phone will last asleast 5days standby and around 4hrs of talk time,it's really resonable battery life, for me,I always charge it overnight to make sure that I've enough coverage use for the next day, someone says that will kill the battery but remember we can always buy another one(I'm quite happy if the battery last around 12months).Someone up there is right,if you're a heavy user, why not put the phone on charger before going to bed then you wont have any problem the next day(remember connect the phone with BT will drain the battery much faster)or get a car charger. The only minor thing that I'd like tobe included in V8 is memory card lot(like the V9)then it'll be perfect./.

                  Shaz,

Take a look at this website - http://www.mobileheart.com/cell-phone-reviews/motorola-12/motorola-RAZR2-V8-1298.aspx. You should be able to find the themes & games you are looking for. I've downloaded some wallpapers from this website too.

Hello Ken! I am not sure if your phone can support Chinese but you can try flashing your phone with language packs. you can find them in some of the Motorola modding websites. All the best!

For the battery part... the new RAzr2 V8s come with a thick battery having amazing battery back up!! I use it heavily and it lasts for two long days!

The battery complaints are more than justifiable since Motorola's 8 hour claim has never materialized. I am lucky to get just over two hours of talk time.

Hello, I have had the phone for a few days now and am quite happy with it. However, the battery life seems to be really bad? The phone battery barely got into the third day, dying in the early morning, with bare minimal use. What happened to that long advertised standby time?

Do any of you have complaints regarding the battery life?

                              Thanks

                                Billy The Kid,

Thanks for your feedback, I'm probably getting about the same talk time too with my bluetooth headset connected, in fact, my bluetooth headset is connected from 8am to about 9pm daily with occasional disconnection off and on for approx. 10 - 15 minutes only each time. Thanks.

                                Sharing with others...,
Personally, I'm not disappointed with this phone based on the battery issue at all, as long as I've prepared myself with enough power supply, (from car charger and portable charger) enough to outlast other handphone users. Note that I said handphone "users" and not handphones because majority of the phones these days have talk time (not standby time)that could last from 1 to 2 days in the average, depending on usage. I know some people that would wait until low battery before re-charging, sometimes that could happen anytime... maybe at noon time during a heated conversation with girlfriend, maybe during a meeting but the person is expecting an urgent phone call or at a time you wish you have full battery level because of some unforseen circumstances.
I charge my V8 every night irregardless of battery level so that I know by tomorrow morning right until late afternoon I'll enough supply. If the battery is wasted after 8 months of use... so be it. Buy a new one, do what you need to do with minimum distractions and I believe (my personal opinion) phone battery level should not be in my "distractions" list - it's too small of an issue. I always believe the issue is ourselves, and not the product. If we are well prepared, we'll score most of the time.

Just a quick honest view on comments said about this phone:
this's definately a great phone for a 'motorola person" (especially if u into V phones) - got fantastic improvements. For these having probz with it, its porbably YOUR device thats got its issues (like software faults).. The only prob i noticed with it is with some videos. But then, if u not so much into videos but music n the rest that the phone got to offer, then this is your phone.

I have been using my luxury edition of the V8 for over four months now. ZI try to take fairly good care of it. It does have dings here and there and gold peeling off. I have the issue of the buttons not registering sometimes during texting or imputing the wrong info. For example, sometimes when I try to type the letters abc I get pqrs? When I search through my contacts it sometimes goes from the l's to the t's? I cannot get this phone to play any video in the 320x240 range at all.
