Good feedback, I'm interested to know whether your bluetooth is turned on all the time or approx. how long did you have your bluetooth turned on in a particular day connected to headset or other gadgets.

for those who are worried about the bateri issue....i just bought my V8 months ago and in the begining hsd s huge problem regarding the shortage of batteri life but now by the time and after letting batteri getting totaly dry and recharge it again ..guess what ? i got the 7 hours instant talk time and there is a logic explanation for that : the new motorola batteri is to sensitive and you have to let it getting totaly MT before charge it again and by going so more you do as i said you surely gett more talktime as well ..try it . thanks to all friends and moto fans .

I've been using this phone for 2 months now... Im too mad when i saw my voice command control key,side select key & volume key is turning to white... maybe this is because my hands are always wet when i hold the phone... I love the design but i it's 60% glass.. i always spend my 1.5 - 2 hours cleaning my phone in a day... So i hope this won't happen to you!.....

there are 2 versions to this phone, 512 MB and 2 GB internal memory.
once you buy the phone, u cannot change the memory.

V8 has LJ OS, i.e Linux-Java Operation System.
V9 has P2K OS, i.e Motorola's own proprietary operation system.
P2K is known for its poor graphics, as compared to LJ graphics.

The one thing I would agree wiyh you on is the battery, it is rather inadequate but you can buy a hihger capacity battery like I did (it's the BX81 at 1380mah from any Moto store or approved dealer)but as for it being big you should've thought about it before buying. There's no harm going into the store and play around with it or take a look at a demo, which I assume you did, or if bought online you can always return it if you're not happy with it under the returns clause/ warranty.
Actually the phone is the same length as the V3 when closed it's only when opened when it is bigger due to it having equal parts and not the top shorter as in the V3's case.
On your sms problem I would suggest you go to a service center as it shouldn't be doing that, mine's never had that problem or given me any problem whatsoever.

Did you install the Motorola phone tools? It sounds to me like you're missing those.They (CD)come bundled with your phone if not you can buy them separately.

I just got this phone and I think it's really awesome!
Quick question: I'm trying to connect my phone to my computer via usb it gives me this message:
"Usb connection cancelled. Phone now charging. To connect again unplug cable and plug in again."
Can anyone help me?

its a very big phone in size.even the battery of tis dont work properly after 5-6 months.features provided are less in comparison to the price charged.no fm radio.in short its waste of money.v3i is better then tis model.

i think this is the worst mobile ever. its difficult to use, the phone does what it likes, eg cancels when half way through a text. very big, poor battery life, despite what the stats say. a definite no no if your looking at these.

From what I know the external backlight cannot be adjusted. However, I do hope that it can be adjusted. The good thing is if the external backlight can be adjusted, I'll definitely like it to be brighter but it'll also affect the battery's talk time too.
