@ a..hole
Below are my experience (personal opinion)on music capability of V8:
1) Speaker mode - I personally found it not bad at all, in fact I would say it's good, for a mobile phone. With a little adjustment on the Spatial and Bass levels, it definitely improved the external sound quality via speaker. My experience is based on comparison with my wife's SE K550i and K750i. The sound output of my V8, about the same as K550i but surprisingly, the older K750i was richer, bass and treble balanced very well. Both SE phones had their equalizers adjusted to our tastes before comparisons whereas the V8 can only have it's bass and spatial width adjusted. So I was happy with the V8's sound quality as compared to my previous Z3.
2)Via Earplugs - I believe very subjective, depending on the quality of the earplugs, bluetooth units or cable connected. Since I could only compare 2 bluetooth headset units that I have, it's not very fair to say whether it's good or bad conclusively. With my Motorola H12 bluetooth unit, it sounded more rich in terms of bass, clarity is definitely much better with speaker mode.

I am a litlle confused, because I had a Motorola V3i, and it had a extra memory, and I could change it to increase the capacity, BUT now with I have a V8 and I can not do it, and I am sad, because it is a great options in a cell phone to store music, pictures and videos for example. I would like to receive a answer about it please.

As mentioed some days ago I went to update my software on monday. I haven't been experiencing any problems before the software update and none after either.
As far as any changes/improvements go I've noted two, the first one- the music quality through the headphones has definitely improved. There's more balance between the high (tweeters) and low (bass) frequencies as compared to before. Before I always felt and heard too much bass at the expense of tweeters. No, it has nothing to do with the settings, I've always used the same settings and still do.
The second one is the batttery consumption. I put my 740mah in the phone and it lasted better than it did before, not that dramatic but slightly better than before. If I didn't have the BX81 battery I would have been 40% happier than I was.
Those are the only improvements I've noted.
One more thing, can any V8 user(s) check the following. I use fixed dialling a lot but when I was have it on the phone only allows me to call out but not send text message to those pre-defined numbers as it should. I know it shouldn't be this way and I've tried a lot of things to remedy this but I couldn't. Thanks.

Thank you again stuart...By the way i'm only 11 years old so that's why maybe some mototola dealers are lying to me because they don't believe that i own a v8 or maybe they don't believe i dont have enough money to buy a portable charger...

Yep, the P790 needs to be charged too. It's just that a fully charged P790 could give you 2 full charging cycles for your V8 as it stores the electricity supplies inside. That's why I recommended you EMS06's way, get a High Capacity BX81 1380Mah battery and the battery door/cover. The original battery for V8 is 740Mah so imagine it's almost 2 times the power supply for your V8.
The reason why I bought it is because the P790 could help me charge both my V8 and my Asus PDA phone anytime if either one is low on battery. I don't need to worry about either one runs out of battery. So if you are only using one phone, again, my suggestion is to get yourself a high capacity battery. You'll save the hassle of carrying the portable charger even though it's small. That's the reason why I found the P790 is very convenient for me but someone else would find it troublesome. If you travels alot, working or staying in an isolated area like seaside, near mountain or jungle where it'll take time for you to search for electricity outlets, I would fully recommend the P790.
The choice is yours and only you can decide....

The model of portable charger I mentioned on previous comments is Motorola P790. For all V3s & Z3 models, the connection is direct as it uses Mini USB connection. If you are using V8 or V9, you'll need to purchase the Mini USB to Micro USB adapter cable, it's very short, slightly more than 3 inches. The P790 should be available at your local Motorola distributor or dealers in your country. To view the design / picture of the charger, just key in "Motorola P790" & "Mini USB to Micro USB cable" in your preferred search engine, Yahoo, Google or so on. If you really want to buy but couldn't find them, some websites sell them. As you surf & search, you should be able to see the prices too.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comment on Jo's enquiry. Learnt something there myself.

@Jo
yes you can use
the phone as
normal while
charging via the
usb cable. Just
don't switch to the
media sync option
under the
connection sub-
menu under the
settings. Use
modem or even
memory device. As
for the constant
reminders,
unfortunately you
can't do anything
about them unless
you set the profile
to silent. It's a
shame really that
the guys at
motorola didn't
think of giving us
the option of
switching them off
as useful as I find
them. My old v3
that I gave to my
sister has that
option of switching
the reminders off.

I got that same thing too, while you are connected via USB to your computer, you can still receive calls, that's all I know. I believe it's because the PC acknowledges the connection as getting ready for data transferring or synchronization purpose especially if the Motorola Phone Tool program's on. If you are connecting to the PC just for charging purpose, then I would recommend charging it either separately (travel charger) or get yourself a portable charger Motorola P790 with a micro USB adapter. They are not expensive, very small to carry with you and has the ability to charge your V8 two complete, full charge cycles, like charging your V8 twice to full. For some it's troublesome but to me it's convenient. I like the idea of bringing this small mobile charger when I'm going somewhere for a day or two and getting my phone charged while walking, eating in restaurant or even at the beach. No hassle of looking for power points when you need it. I've used it to charged my phone and bluetooth headset numerous times at times or locations when you need them most. I must say this approach works for me but not necessary for you, just to share with you.
The buzzer reminder? I don't have an issue here although my V8's on for 24/7, 365 days a year. When I sleep, I usually put it under vibration mode so the buzzer didn't sound at all, it'll still vibrate. If you do not want a slight sound, put it under silent mode then, the alarm will still sound if you have one set as a wake up call in the morning. I kind of like this reminder buzzer sound as compared to the old Motorola's beeping tone used as reminder tone for unread messages or calls. It sounds kind of unique doesn't it?
Hope my feedback helps.

Hi again everyone,
Got another question: Is it possible to use your phone whilst charging it via usb? All I seem to get is 'USB connection made' and when I press a few buttons it goes on about how not all functions can be used. That I understand... But I can't even do anything! The little boxes never go away. Pretty annoying at the moment
Oh and one more thing, is there any way to turn off the constant noises after you get a text or call? If I haven't checked it/answered it I get an annoying buzz sound every few minutes. Not cool when i'm trying to sleep!
Appreciate your help (again :P)

Try this, Open flip, press Main Menu, press Setting, Sound Profile, you'll see Vibrate, Meeting and so on. Choose the profile you like, (example Normal) then press Option, then Edit, you'll see the details shown on the display. (Profile Name, Alert Style, Ringtone Line 1 and so on). Press right arrow on your navigation pad and you'll see Alert Volume, Keypad Tone Volume and Playback Volume. This is where you can adjust the volume you wanted.
One additional thing since we are on volume issue, you can actually enrich your phone's ringtone especially if you are using songs as ringtone. Funny thing, it's not specified in details inside the manual.
Try this, press the music button (located above the green call button), you'll see All, Recently Played, Playlists and so on. Press Option, Select Set Up and choose Stereo Effect Settings. Turn Spatial Audio On & Bass Boost On. From here, the settings for both Spatial Width Control and Bass Boost Level are depending on individual's taste. I found that certain songs would sound "cracky" if the Bass Boost level is set too high. These adjustments definitely improve on the sound quality but don't expect it to be a HIFI player.

@ sami damen
From what I see, there are 2 ways to approach your battery issue. My original full charge battery BX40 740mah also gave me around 7-9hours on working days before dropping to 2 bars.
1) Take a look on the comment by EMS06 to me just 2 rows below yours on the high capacity 1380mah battery he's using and the much more longer standby / talk time. This is the easiest, simplest and more convenient way to have a longer talk time. The phone might be just a little thicker (by mm) on the battery compartment because of the new battery and cover. I believe holding the phone feels more secure with this cover too.
2) Purchase additional accessories like car charger or portable charger Motorola P790. My experience, if you move about like me, charging around 25-30 minutes in the car could give you enough battery supply till night.
The fully charged portable charger P790 could give you 2 times complete fill up charge for your V8 but you'll also need an micro USB adapter cable because the charger has mini USB connection on it.
Between these 2 approaches, if I were you, I'll go for the 1st option - get yourself a 1380mah battery because for option 2, you'll need to carry with you the additional accessory namely the portable charger. Unless you are like me, carrying 2 phones to work - a V8 and another PDA phone, mobile battery charger sounds like a better option as it can charge my V8 & my ASUS P735 PDA phone anytime. There's a downside to this, since the more you charge your phone, your battery life shortens as most batteries are designed to have a few hundred charging cycles lifespan.
You could get more info on the high capacity battery 1380mah and the cover from EMS06.
