I just bought the v3 a week ago and so far no problems. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by the screen quality (very sharp and vibrant) The call quality is very good but obviously depends on the reception. Bluetooth syncs very easily with mac os x and you can dl pictures and mp3s onto the phone (no driver needed) The phone does not have a video capability but the camera is decent. All menu options and main keys can be reassigned to your liking. Overall it took me an hour to learn how to navigate thru the phone. (read the instructions!) The phone quality seems excellent (very nice construction and materials) and it feels very high end. There is an obvious difference in comparison to my samsung a670. Although 5mb seems like very little memory, it actually seems like enough for pictures and caller id photos. One more thing Motorola does sell a wired earpiece that jacks into the mini usb - so you don't have to buy the bluetooth earpiece! Oh yeah the menu layout is not as bad as it seems (again read the instructions). Overall this phone is the best looking phone out and though it lacks a 1.3 mp camera it works AS A PHONE. ( i got it for $50 so it was a good deal for me)

Is there a recall on the V3? The back gets so hot it deformed the plastic that was underneath the phone! I think it's a fire hazard! Other units I've used tends to get pretty hot during charge too. Becareful where you place the phone when you're charing it!

Pros: Well-built phone, small, nice main display
Cons: UI is slooow for a phone at this price, somewhat limited memory given its video capability, no 'profile' function, price

I wanted the v3 and phoned up o2 the other day and they told me that they are no longer selling the v3 due to quality issues and customers complaints. Just to let people know who are thinking of buying.

Is it possible to create a folder/directory on the phone to store videos and password the folder. So far I havent seen anything in the instruction manual about it.

i have had this fone 4 6 months now and find it a great fone. the only thing i dont like is that there is not a video camera. wen i was sold it i was told there was, so i was really dissapointed 2 find there wasn't.

the fonee is really thin and fits nicely in ur hand and pocket. the computer business i have left 2 my boyfriend but he seams 2 fly thru it putting all my bits on his pc.

im selling mine now and getting the samsung E720 as i really want a video.

overall good fone, good quailty gadget. well worth it if u dont want 2 video anything.

                  happy playing x

I've been using the V3 for about 6 months now and it works just great for me actually the best phone i've ever used. Now I did leave the phone outside in the sun for about 10 min. and it was pretty hot and now there is this funky smell on the screen and key pad and wont go away. Unbearable now I have get a new phone. Do not leave out in the Sun!!

Well, I first owed a silver v3 and pretty much had no problems with it at all. No faults that I have seen since I used it. Then after a few weeks sold it and got the black v3, I believe the black v3 can video record. The silver didnt have this functions. i receommend getting either v3, both are outstanding and are good for everyday phone calls sms and of course looks.

Now about it's price, theres a lot of people saying out there how the v3 is overprice (you guyz make me laugh). i believe there are 2 types of mobile phone users. 1 is people that go for looks and design and 2 people that go for features and function with little looks and design. You have to understand that motorola didnt market the phone because of it's function and features.

Motorola clearly showed there marketing about it looks, nice and thin plus sleek. One thing that stands out is its unique cutted keypad. Not only myself but millions of users out there believe that no other company has such a good design in keypad as motorola.

example the Nokia 8910i, it is overprice i believe even more the the v3 people still luved it. So I think people planning to get the v3 and have the money to, should get it. Don't listen to all these otehr guys saying how over price it is. You like the looks and design and dont really care about the features then get this phone. If your the type that cares for money and features then look else where.

                          regards

p.s no offence to anyone out there hopefully.

                              very nice phone
black version is now mine, and i love it
i like the real glass on the front, so no scratches like plastic on other ones
                              good sounds too.
great phone! for a good price

What a fantastic phone. I belive the camera lacks a bit, and i would like a bit for than mpeg 4, but it is beautiful! And anyway, how often do you listen to MP3's on your phone?! As for picture taking - it think it is a fad that has become hugely overrated. Nearly every phone is now judged on its camera, reather than usability, quality, design etc...

I dont think this phone is at all hard to use, and i think that if u cant work out how to use one of these phone, there isnt much point in having one!

Glad its not all Nokia and Motorola are still pulling strong.
