Anonymous, 30 Jan 2023Ok, maybe should have been more specific. What about sittin... moreMy headphones automatically connect to my phone when I turn my headphones on and does a connection noise to confirm it, my TV prompts me to connect (I have to press the select button for yes to connect when it sees the headphones turned on). If I have headphones connected to the TV and phone, it's playing sound from the TV and I then start playing music/make a call on my phone it instantly swaps to my phone without me having to do anything so I've never had any of these issues, because they aren't anymore. A lot of people I know still work from home so having that level of access and flexibility with little to no effort is what most people actually want (got mates with £2000-£3000 audiophile set ups yet stick to £200-£300 wireless headphones for ease of use). For relaxing around home it makes even more sense, your laying down but want to go toilet or make food, can leave the device (phone, laptop, the TV) in the frontroom, go do what you need to do and never worry about catching wires or having to have the devices with you all the time and you don't miss any audio.
False that wired is better quality than wireless, since like the SD 865, maybe the 855, have had looseless wireless audio. Most music you'll listen to including locally stored files, will be "CD quality" at best and BT headphones can play back that perfectly fine (companies like Oppo are developing custom Bluetooth chips to increase audio quality and reduce power consumption and delay). You're not listening to studio quality music and if you are, you're going to need wired headphones costing atleast double that of the BT headphones (that's if the phone has a capable DaC, from what I've read a lot of good quality BT headphones have their own DaC).
Well having a jack actually increases costs to the phones manufacturering, increases phones thickness/size, increases cost to make them water resistant too and can affect the phones structural rigidity too. It makes sense Sony and Asus phones have them, a gaming phone which you need direct 3d sound for FPS games for example and Sony phones can be used with their professional cameras so having a jack and sd slot makes actual sense. Name me a phone with a headphone jack that can be submerged to 6m under water other than iPhones?
So I'm ignorant saying tech isn't 10 years old anymore and the development of tech has made all the issues you've brought up redundant except to a literal minority of phone users in very VERY spefic use cases(which again would increases prices on phones even more which it does an Asus and Sony phones unfortunately).
Also generally for repairs companies will more readily replace broken wireless headphones, for free, because of hardware defects or problems wireless headphones can have (been through it before, replaced £200 for free and I kept the original pair which can still be used). Wired headphones have an insanely bad flaw, no wire, no sound. There is other flaws but that should be enough really. If your wired headphones don't have a detachable wire, goodbye headphones and if they do and wire breaks, that's money to replace the wire which for some headphones can cost £15 or more. (if BT module fails I still have a 3.5 jack, just plug my dongle in to the phone and I'm up and running again, best of both worlds).

Anonymous, 31 Jan 2023phone battery will die in 2-3 years ... you should buy a pc... moreMan but i am posting on PC right now from home and at morning from work.
And phone battery last depends on user.
Know few of my customers which used same battery for phone for 10 yeears and phone still lasted 3 days. It was Nokia 3310 of the old times.
Even new devices can retain 80-90% battery capacity after 2 years.
Or even 100% if put into closet or drawer for 2 years but thats not the case.
Everything heading towards greener more environmental friendly ways to go with world and life. Those people making devices for us heading this way.
Othervise we would be long time dead.

AnonD-731363, 30 Jan 2023Wired and better???
Wired is based on cables and cables wi... moreWireless can fail too, and will run out of charge. Replacement is more expensive. Wired can break, but replacement is easy and cheap. Btw, wire breakage is overstated. If you're just using them at home, there's very little chance of breaking. In case it breaks, it's very economical to have many cheap wired headphones at your disposal. But good ones get removable cable with mmcx connector so just wire needs to be replaced. And, if needed, you can just connect a bluetooth module when going out!
Learn to make smart use of both technology at your advantage. Advocating against a technology when not appropriate is stupid.

Super Android 22, 30 Jan 2023Why do people wear wireless headphones inside? Working out?... moreOk, maybe should have been more specific. What about sitting and lying around at comfort of own home and just listening to your phone? I don't dispute that if you're travelling or in an indoor scenario that includes significant amount of moving around or even maybe switching between many devices frequently, then of course wire will get in your way. BUT, if travelling and/or movement, switching between many devices etc is out of equation, then purpose of wireless is nonexistent. It then is unnecessary hassle. Making sure that headphone is charged, paired etc is very tiresome. There's no way of quickly telling if headphone is connected without turning on screen.
Compare that with wired:
1. Just plug in
2. No charging necessary
3. Cheaper, easy replacement is breaks. Not to mention some have removable/replaceable cables too!
4. You can easily tell form a distance that it's connected, lol.
5. Physically better audio quality.
6. Less latency.
If you bring USB C arguement, then easy refutation is:
1. You can't charge when listening using it.
2. It will be overused, causing more wear and tear. We know replacing such part is increasingly difficult due to OEM's greed. It's better left just for its main jobs.
If you're talking about wire breaking, then wireless can fail too! In fact, it's more susceptible to failure without user's carelessness, since it's more complex. If it does, it's harder/more expensive to replace.
Removing headphone jack doesn't improve anything and keeping it harms nothing. Xperias, ZenFones, ROG phones etc are proof. These phones refute all the "arguments" against headphone jack such as waterproofing, battery life etc. Xperia 5 IV has ip65 rating alongside ip68, which phone without headphone jack has that?
Only reason headphone jack is removed is extreme greed of OEMs.
Finally, "it's not 2010 anymore", if you mean "newer/wireless is inherently better", then it is a weak argument, only held by ignorant people. There's many example where newer product, even newer technology has been worse!
I never mean wireless is worse than wired or vice versa. Each
technology has it's respective time, place and situation where one performs the best, a wise man's job is to work that out.

Wired is based on cables and cables will breaks so wired cant be better.
Wireless have no cables to breaks clumsy people can loose them but they wont breaks when you accidentaly sit on them on bus for example.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2023Why would you wear wireless indoors? Why go through that hassle? Why do people wear wireless headphones inside? Working out? Conference calls (gives you the ability to keep doing other things while working/talking). Maybe the person loves in a houseshare so prefer using headphones when in the house and don't want to be trapped to non move able tech.
For me it's handy being able to connect to like 3/4 devices like TV, laptop/pc, phone at the same time and swap between them effortlessly (I'll be watching TV, decide I want to listen to Spotify so swap to my phone and go and make food in the kitchen, once done swap it back to the TV.)
Not everyone likes having wires tangling around them which will eventually break and make the headphones useless, wireless headphones (not buds) generally have a 3.5 jack port so can be used wired too if Bluetooth or nfc chip dies. Battery life on most cans isn't a problem now, it's not 2010 anymore.
