I had this thang for a week, a week of strees after i thought i upgraded from a checp Sony Z series flip phone that took better photos, shoots better video, and records audio; only it did not have 3G.

I recomend people try this phone and compare it to other 3G phones, there cameras, batteries and features., this phone is no go for me, or Motorola, since non work with iSync lik ethey say.

I also just returned this phone, it is not worth the trouble.

      -rings after i answer
-can not record audio and save to ringtones
      -camera stinks so bad
      -very cheap feel

i simply gave up on 3G after trying this phone, people tell me to get nokia or sony but i say forget it, 3G will never be if they are all compromising with chea parts like this, maybe not for years on.

however, i met some girl from Korea who told me that they have phones and 3g systems that are way more sufisticated and this v3x is from the Stone ages, she was impressed by Sony and Nokia though yet in Korea the cameras are way more advanced and she said this v3x phone was a disgrace!

Im pleased with my phone, it was free and i also have a Sony ericson that can record audio, take better photos, shoot better video, is a way better 3G phone.

i am starting to use the motorola only for its slimness, but i do miss audio recording and certain video wall papers which the Sony and most standard phones can which the motorola can not, as well taking good photos., yes the camera is horrible and the phone feels cheap but i am please i did not pay for it, and i would not ever unless it had a real lense and not a plastic one.

I kept getting blank messages from either _@ or from (triangle symbol)@. I tried to reply to it, but could not due to "No Reply Address Entered". Does anyone have any sort of problem? Nice phone no doubt. No "Missed Calls" menu, had to use the "shortcut" button. My email address is: jathluong@gmail.com ... please contact me if you have similiar problem and / or know how to fix the blank messages.

            To Nick,

Hey wassup! Yes i did as a matter of fact, and sorry to say but terrible was still an understatement. But thanx for the insight :)

Now don't get me wrong, again as i posted before, i am talking about my own phone that i returned and not generalizing. I am sure mine had a defect, as do some others who claim camera quality was bad, but i also see some others who are very pleased. Either way, it's gone for me now. First impression just blew it for me!

              Hey - 'The Real'

I have the V3X - sadly with Vodafone UK. I didn't pay for the phone. But I still have to live with the random faults it has.

Bad battery I can live with.

Pictures look good - but I can't get them off the phone.

I have had the phone since December. I look forward to when my contract is up so I can get a decent phone Nokia or SE. Never again for MOTO.

To the people who can't handle the fact that this is only a phone - grow up. To the people who want this phone so badly - get a life. Its a phone - you can phone people and speak to them.

It has a camera - you can even take photos (although I can't get them off the silly phone). Too anyone who might want to video slapping someone or worse. Your time is coming ;-)

Could I suggest or recommend to anyone to buy this phone? No chance. Although I should put it on ebay where some other mug might want to buy it . . . :)

I ordered this phone from O2 as an upgrade for free and I got sent the V3 Razr instead. SO I rang up customer services and they told me that Motorola had recalled the V3x phones from O2 due to a software fault that needs fixing !

to Mandy&Lamy : Did you try storing a max.resolution photos taken with v3x camera to a memory card ? Maybe you should've done so, before commenting that camera was "horendous"

                    One more thing... to Mandy.

You want to check your call times?

Go to your main menu again... go to the menu called "Call List".. click on it and i'm sure all of a sudden you see something called CALL TIMES... now click on that.

                    Damn some people are THICK!!!!!!

I hate generalising about the V3x or any other phone for that matter, but i sure can speak to my specific V3x that i had before i returned it 5 days later. It was the biggest disspointment i had ever with a mobile phone.

                      Problems:
                      1. Static noise very load comes out of keypad.
                      2. Camera quality was extremely bad, very blurry, my old nokia 6630 took 10 times clearer pictures.
                      3. The phone feel is very tacky, bad quality material.
                      4. Phone randomely shuts down by itself.
                      5. Blue tooth didn't reconize other devices. (i.e. my laptop)
                      6. When charging the phone, and a recieve a phone call, it keeps ringing after i answer, forever till i turn off the phone!
                      7. Battery umm.. no comment..

I know that some people are very pleased with thier V3x, and i don;t doubt it. Yea every brand and model might have defects here and there, never soo many as to what i had with my phone. But on a broader prospective, couldn;t halp notice that on the posts for the V3x, (here) soo many complaints about this phone and how it's not up to the expectations. I dunno, i can't agree otherwise, as i relate to them very well!

P.S. I speak of my own phone experience and not generally. thanx

                          Hi,
I have had this phone for two weeks and love it. The battery lasts me 2 to 3 days, the camera is the best for any phone in america right now. My girlfriend and I printed the pictures out today from the trans flash card and she and I both agree they're just as clear as any real camera. Any questions on the camera cearity just email me I think they're one of the best.

I am an employee for a phone company and what u state is true, but what you are saying applies for any phone you buy, you can only return the product if it has a fault, if you dont like it, tough. In AUS we have desks, so you can play with them b4 u buy, if you dont like it after having played with it, well customers should be more insightful.

Awful phone. Awful camera. Looks good but has no way near as good feature's as older phone's or other new phones. Battery life is horendous.

Had the phone a week. Only place for this phone is the bin. The camera is awful. Sending phone back. Preictor text is bad, the battery only lasts half-3 quarter's of a day.Has no way near the feature's other phones have. Im going for a sony ericsson K750i. The person on this page who states the camera is good obviously must be used to an horendous camera. my present phone is a 1.3 mega pixel camera. I took both these phones round to friends & every opinion was the 1.3 mega pixel camera was better in colour & a lot more clear, in fact it is crystal clear & it's a sony ericsson. My friends were shocked at how awful the cameara truly is on th motorola VX3.

I have had this phone for 4 days. it's the worst phone i have ever had in my life. It does not have a missed calls menu. Predictor text is diaboilical e.g type the word miss it will come out as missed, you then have to delete the e & d then arrow forward to start your fresh word. The camera is horendous. the battery only lasts for half a day & that was after only sending 4 text message's & making two calls, 20 minutes in total for both calls. the back of phone gets hot whilst in use. although the phone has smiley faces u cannot send them in a text msge. The phone does have an option for call time you have used but no menu to tell you how many text messages you have sent. I have had wide range of differant phone's and a bit of a mobile phone as well as text addict and i have to say the best phone i have ever had is sony ericsson s700i which is no longer available. The sony ericsson w900i is the same style with a lot more features but exclusive only to vodafone which their contracts are dearer but if you want a decent phone then worth it. i have just taken a contract with orange and am now cancelling it within my 14 day's cooling off period to sign up with vodaphone to get the sony ericsson w900i. The lady i complained to at orange was most understanding & told me in just one morning she had had 52 complaints about the motorola V3X. I would recommend sony ericsoon as the best phones with the most features, very good camera's. also they have a text continuation list so If you text someone their name goes into the list so next time you want to text them you just clic one button. You can delete your continuation text list if you wish. Sony ericsson menu's also come with cute animation's that u can send in a text. also very clear, ring tones can be very loud or soft. Also with sony ericsson phones you have a menu to tell you how many text message's you have sent so your able to keep track without the hassle of a phonecal. A lot of my friends & my daughter have taken my advise on sony ericsson phones & have been over the moon with their phones. I also think in my experience that samsung phone's are quite good but can be a little basic for my liking. I have had 3 motorala phones in my life & they have all been completely crap. ADVISE- steer clear of any motorala phone & go for sony ericsson or samsung. I have never had a nokia so i can't comment.

Gabe, when you said that V3x had a horrible dsiplay - you made me think I was loosing my mind ! Therefore I did put 1.SE W900, 2.Nokia N70, 3.V3x, and 4.HPipaq6515 in front of my own eyes, and guess what? None of the above mentioned models' diplays could come near to the one in v3x

                                      Regarding post by WCBS-Local1212 team

Dude, get a grip would ya. You are talking pure horse raddish! A 2mp camera has to actually achieve the desired resolution either by interpolating the pixels or by taking the picture properly in the first place. This means that it is AGAINST THE LAW to state that a camera can achieve a certain resolution if it is unable to do so ... and it does not state that it is interpolated either. As for the quality; Its a camera that is linked into one of the thinnest 3g capable phones ever created, only really rivalled by the LG u880 at the moment in that catagory ... And if you look at the LG's design, the swivel camera is actually as wide as the whole phone, not just the screen chassis. 25 cent my ar$e.

Next time you make suggestions, learn the facts. Quality is dependant on more than just the number. Take size and space into consideration.

As for the handset itself ... Camera quality IS very good, especially considering the size of the handset. And it has an LED flash to allow night shots. You dont even have to open the clamshell to take a pic! Just hold down the camera quick function on the side for a couple seconds and walla!! Then press it again to take and save your pic.

The screen is definitely the most eye-catching point of the phone. The resolution is far better than its competitors and looks it too! But thats not all it has ...

It has a vast amount of features, mainly useful! The calender works, you can set dates and times and reminders, etc. The alarm is loud and you can change the tone for it ... Good for those of you who hate the extra clutter next to your bed! The bluetooth is fast enough, however a little confusing to get to grips with when sending. Just take your time and dont play "Throw the phone across the living room" and you should be fine.

The design of the phone is superior to the original V3. The quick funtion buttons are all moved to the base chassis now, making it easier to change volume during a call and the such like. The chassis itself is plastic; i think this was the better choice. It results in a gentle rubbery texture to it, making it soft on the touch, and more resistant to scratching and marking ... And that means it shouldnt be affected by a tussle with the car keys every now and then.

Only four real gripes about this phone are the following; When you have the MP3 player up and running, you have to open the phone to change songs. Perhaps there is a better player downloadable that integrates the quick function buttons?

You MUST close any java applications when using your alarm clock. This could be your MP3 player or your games. If you dont, your alarm will not function and you will be late for work! Trust me, i know!

The hinge for the screen appears to have been created for "beauty and not the beast!" ... So if any of you people are rather rough with your phone; be warned, it could end up with your hinge malfunctioning! (Manufacturers may put this down to wear and tear and charge you for a repair!)

Lastly, the software ... As always with motorola! Its fantastic when it works, but if you use your phone a lot, i'd advise emptying your inbox as often as possible and to save all your pics and vids to your pc as often as possible and try to reset the phone every few months ... This is just because both my girlfriend and I's V3x's come up with a glitch every now and again. (For instance, mine started locking up if i wrote "..." into a text message. Hard reset solved this and hasnt done it since.)

Sorry if any of you think this is rather long; its best to tell it all tho really. Click on my email link if you wanna know more.

                                      Enjoy your new phone.

I do not think Motorola Employees post here about this one phone, it is doing ok actually.

I do see that there are materialistic people, who worship objects like this phone the same way they worshiped idols in history, and willing to die for these things like if they can not live with out them.

This is a phone, i suggest people should not pay for it if they are not happy with it, , the phone itself is not God or anything close to giving you sustanance, it only works with a provider so if it does not do what it says return it.

Pros: thing design, weight, stand by time is ok, 3G.
                                        Cons:
-Battery life is short with 3G,
-No audio recording possible for audio notes or ringtones
-This is not a 2MP camera, no way, compare it yourself.
                                        -Nice colors would be nice,
                                        -Display is very washed up,
-tiny photo lense has the fish eye effect yet is not nearly as wide as any Sony Ericson or Nokia phones.

The Cons go on with software, i will not list them since some people blaim the software for weekness of the cheap candy camera hardware.

So in my opinion, users who worship this phone like its God and can not bare to hearof imperfections should grow up and face it., its not God.
