I've had the v3x for a few weeks and have managed to put mp3 music on using the supplied software and found it plays music at 128kb/s but not 192kb/s. it is claimed by motorola to play upto this rate but in practice it doesn't. I should note however that at 128kb/s the sound is really good and the mp3 files downloaded off the 3 network are top quality. The phone is pretty strong despite being made of plastic, LG makes theirs out of crap plastic if you compare. Battery life does suck so I'm going to buy the BC70 which lasts longer. Best part is that this phone works inside an airlock deep inside a factory where not many phones can work so as a PHONE it works better than other brands. One thing I would like motorola to change is that when it's software rips CD's to the phone, it would be good if it did it at say 128kb/s instead of 32kb/s or atleast be able to choose which bit rate to use.

WCBS-Local1212 do you know what your talking about? i dont thinks so!!! any phone can be returned if it has a fault! You cant return a phone because u decide you dont like it. Think about it, its like buying a house, then a year later changing your mind and asking for a refund! Think about it, but not too hard, it might hurt!

That is correct Jay, this is why some of decided to post o users of his phone to TRY IT before leaving the vodafone shop, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
Vodafone tells people they can only return it if it is defected within 30 days, but what they make it seem like in all there shops is that people can not, maybe they are frustrated with people trying phones like this one and discovering they do NOT like it.
Certanly a nokia non Megapxel camera shoots much better quality photos and videos, and has a much better quality lense, i have a 6230 non flip Nokia here and it is years older then this V3x in my hand, the V3x was packed with cheap parts hands down.
As far as people saying Motorola is not commiting a conspiracy, a conspiracy is when 2 or more people are envolved in a plot which results to illegal action, and yes, markeing envolves conspiracy morally but within the limits of the red tape depending on that country.
The Moto V3x has a nice design, and could be a great phone, its just not what they say it is, i do not see a 2 Megapixel Camera like it reads, or a decent video camera, i am sure they spent around 25 cents for these plastic toy cameras they now put in kids toys.

I like the Motorola V3 aloot for its design, beenthing and all.
So i got the v3x, but i agree with everyone here who says the display, camera and video feels like its gone backwqards in time,
As well as this phone been a bit bigger then a v3 and that the battery life is short, you can not record audio for notes or ringtones, and that it is a bit ugly and Motorola could of added some color.
As far as the software goes, there realy is no features to record audio notes or ringtones, set which buttons prevent you from luanching the internet and even trigger what you want, both the Motorola and Vodafone software do pretty much th same, but that vodafone cloned Sony Ericson software for its ease of use.

V3 is indeed a great phone, but one must try the v3x first no doubt, it does NOT have decent camera, video or display, sorry but accept it.

this phone broken down.
Pros; slim, a v3, ok if you get it free with contract,
Cons, bigger then a v3, no audio recording, vodafine software wants you to connect to the net for 30 cents each time +, you an only obtain commercially downloaded and paid for ringtones, 3g cam stinks, plastic lenses, display is horrible compared to older phones, battery life is a bummer, and they only come in a few ugly colors
so cons over do the pros, is someone here gonna say this is stupid or are they that ignorant to just have to have motorola?

hurm..juz got my V3x 1 week ago
so far there's no problem
everything is easy & good for me
it is user friendly but not as friendly as SE phones in my opinion
its batery drains quickly though,1 day need to recharge
it have many features that can be explore actually
a bit bug here & there
but still a good phone for me
i love it..

Got this phone 2 weeks ago, and i think it is fantastic! I love the big and very clear screen, the pic quality is 10/10, As for sound its really good but i think they could have made it that bit better... the key bad is cool and that goes for the design also, its very slim but not too light.. Over all i would tell people to get this phone.. the only bad thing is the price! over all 10/10

I don't know what everyone is talking about. This phone is great. It looks great, feels great and works great. You don't have to be anorexic to be hot and this phone displays that perfectly. I am especially loving its ability to download full mp3 tracks and play them with its dedicated digital audio player. The biggest problem that I have come across so far is the fact that the 64M t-flash card is not big enough to hold all my songs so I will need to purchase a bigger card. At least this phone has that option.

furthermore - where can I get the Motorola software for this phone? Can I download it from somewhere?

I'am really not convinced that there's some big Motorola conspiracy, or that all those experts (and users)around the world unite to lie to people that this is an excellent, usefull and attractive phone(at least the latter is obvious)

To be honest there is no phone out there that is perfect, everyone has its pros and cons.dont always listen to what people say, go to a provider and try the phone yourself. I like it form the moment i saw it. Its kinda thicker than the razr v3 but i like the fact that i am holding something in my hand, its nice and streamline and the software works perfectly in downloading and uploading. The picture quality is great and so is the sound (loud and clear). It cassies 64mb and expandable memory in the back to store more of everything. Excellent battery life (up to 3 days. Overall i would recommend it, it a great phone, i love mine. Besides its a phone for heaven sakes, its purpose is to make and receive calls!!!!!!!
