To all the v3x users who love there phone and the dar ages, please stop posting like its the bomb or the best cuase someone said so, its pure conjecture and lies.
these forums are for people to share information on user experiences, so even the fact that eople sugest others go and hack there phones sim to unlock it states that this phone is not capable of its specs, features and from reading the posts here its un acceptable in beating other phone son the market older then it, mayb its the better hone so far this year while there are older phones that are better, but this does not give leeway to liars and fanatics to recomend it to vodafone users for one example when they know its a bad deal.

Johny agrees to trying a phone out rather then depending on the specs, but yet claims reading the reviews are proof to run out a buy a motorola v3x before trying it.

I agree, the V800 blows the motorola v3x out of the water
If the v3x came out a few years ago they would of been neck to neck with Nokias 3G, but unfortunatly the V800, N90 and N92 are real winners this year still.
Try getting a job at Sony, or just stick to cable modems guy

To "Never": I agree wth you only in one thing, n that is -I shall believe the specs only if I try the phone. But, according to your comment, Moto have produced this model only to annoy the customers ? Really don't think so. See for yourself, read the reviews from various sources. Besides, only an hostile eye could say that this is an ugly phone, bad diplay, etc. I'am not a Moto fan, but as far as design is concerned, Nokia, SE, and Samsung are far behind Moto(for inst.D600-ugliness in itself)

U guys are all lame ducks.
All of you that got this handset on Vodafone and 3 are all childish and cant accept the fact that the V3x is the bomb.
To the dude called "never"... who has no brains and thinks getting rid of your SIM lock is the same as flashing/flexing/debranding the phone... mate get a life and go read up on it first cos you i've never seen anything as silly and as uninformed as what u wrote... u know what they say... information is power... u obviously dont have it. What makes you think it's Motorola employees writing that?... I'm sure you work for Nokia or some lame SE or whatever and have been contracted to put the v3x down... shout from now till next year it's still the best 3G handset out there...HA HA!!!
I compared the V800 to the V3x and if thats the phone u guys are shouting about then ya'll have problems...look at what users are already saying:
"I'm quite disappointed with this model. I was hoping for more, but looks like it's just a cheap model made for vodafone, the processor is okay and so is the menu design, but construction is rather delicate, screws go right into plastic, no metal, flip is highly sensitive, looks like something made on the run with no testing whatsoever.
Very much unlike sonyericsson.
So for now I'll just stick to my latest favourite, S700, until the P990 is in ;)"
The camera loses to a Nokia 7610 the keypad is lousy i got problems with 3,6,9 and # the MP3 player tells u system error and the MP3 player just switches off.The camera flash if u use it as a flash light which i do is quite useless oso...It turns off after 15mins and the light isnt 1 bit bright at all battery life is gd display is alright external display medicore. It isnt that great would give it a 4/10"
"my personal opinion is that its is an excellent handset and did not have any problems with it until recently...whenever i close the phone it shows emergency calls on the external screen and then all my call will then go to voicemail and its really starting to bother me...i have read some of the other opinions posted by other users and i have noticed the have similar problems...what can i do to have this fixed?"
Now here's something from a person using a V3x that has not been destroyed by Vodafone or 3:
"You guys will not believe the difference. I had the v3x with the vodafone software. I flashed it with the latest original Motorola software. Man, it is night and day. Before the phone was slow, phonebook bug, no voice dial recognition. It was horrible. Now everything works perfectly, better battery life, better reception, so much faster. It is an amazing phone. Even the camera and video are much better. What a dream is this phone. You guys can not judge this phone with the carriers software. This is not the phone's or Motorola's fault. Blame the carriers, Vodafone, 3, etc...
Be fair. This is an amzing cell phone, if you have the Motorola software, of course"
..and thats just the start of it.
To the dude who claimed the spec are false... they are not... it's ur network thats lied about the specs by giving u Motorola's OEM specs instead of their modified specs... why do u think they always tell you to view the specs on the motorola website?... plus when u get ur phone is it not in a Voda pack?.. with a voda manual?... when u get a Motorola it comes in a motorola box with a motorola manual in case you dont know. I mean do u see it anywhere on the Motorola website that u will have a vodaphone key?... of course not. Motorola built the phone so you can select what u want each shortcut key i.e smart key and softkeys... Voda has instead blocked u from doin this so u can use their vodalive by force... sorry...ur fault..next time buy a SIM free phone.
Anyways.. no more to be said...v3x rules ok!

I am in Bercelona, i was at the GSM convention.
If this phone won anything it was becuase of advertising, older 3G phones are still far better, try the Sony V800, Nokia N90, Samsung phones.
If you use Apple iSync, get Sony V800 or a Nokia N90 that shoots videos as well, otherwise grab Samsungs phones, they are the easiest and best offers by vodafone here.
Nothing more needed to be said!

I just got a Sony V800 !
All i can tell you is this;
I tried the phone at a 2nd hand shop and it took me 2 minutes to decide,
1-better and great picture quality, then the vx3
2-better video quality then the vx3
3-better display then the vx3
4- better software interface then the vx3
5-better and faster user experience then the vx3
6-can record audio, the vx3 can not
7- can make ring tones from audio the vx3 can not
8- can record audio and schedule alarms, the vx3 can not
9-the v800 has a solid body compared to the the vx3 cheap plastic and big body
10-SYNCS WITH APPLE iSync, the vx3 does not at all!
The reason i grabbed it was nothing to do with this foru or site, i tried several phones, like the nokia N90, and teh v800 is by far the best flip phone out there next to the N90 and new N92, so try them yourself to see,

As a V3 onwer who expected a snazier color, better display and camera, and thinner and smaller body, this is not the phone at all.
I agree, try it, if you allready had a V3, forget this, move onto Sony Ericson, they are gonna take the market with nokia and samsung.
Motorola should stick to cable modems

Yeah i never trust those ratings, i will however trust the phone if i try it.
This phone is offered with a vodafine contract, and people are told they can not try it when they are at the shops and that they can not return it once they have the contract, but i will tell you all that i did it, you have 7 days to do it and if you do not like it return it, so do not run to a vodafone shop because some Motorola Employee says its the best 3GSM phone according to him, try it.
Why does this guy keep posting that its the best when its the worste, he is trying to convince you with the traps vodafone preys on the public hoping they would run out and just get his phone with out trying it.
the vodafone live button can be activated by accident every 5 minutes since they programed to be the one on the side of the phone and charge you 30 cents
And by disabling recording for audio they want to charge you to download ringtones as well, how cheap and low of Motorola to do that, its not vodafone its motorola.
THE BIGGEST LIE HERE is that by UNLOCKING THE SIM, THE PHONE IMPROVES so these Motorola employees who post her ethink they can fool the public with that one, Unlocking the SIM only allows you to use the phone with other SIM providers, it does not change the software.
No changing the software and firmware is crucial and dangerous, even if done, notorolas software is nothing new, only a 3G feature is, its identical to the v3, Motorola did not even try to improve where they should of, this phone is nothing special, just a cheaper case and bigger V3 with a G3 camera that is plastic and horrible display.

If it won best this or that then that tells you how corrupted these things are, and not to tust someone like you who believes that been a winner at some convention can convince people that it is the phone they want,
Please everyone, TRY IT FOR YOURSELVES and compare it to another flip like the V800 by Sony, i can garantee you that you will agree, this is not the best this or that, the worst sounds more like it.

Camera improves because of software, miracle or lie?
Vodafone is telling people that once they sign a contract, they can not return the phone, do yourselves a favor and beware of electonic geek loosers who lie from there obsessions with gadgets, these are the left over bagages from WW2.
My advise, try this phone and see for yourself, do not take these peoples word for it, and do NOT sign a vodafone contract or any contract unles syou can return the phone, this one is a looser, and all those who claim this V3x has a great camera are in that tribe.
