It means that it was announced in the first quarter of 2005! Sometime between Jan and March!
I also have a question! It's to anybody that's handled the blue V3x!
What is the finish on it like? I was in a shop yesterday and the silver had that plastic/paint finish and the black had a sort of rubber coating!
I really like the blue version as it's a little more unusual but I'm only willing to buy it if it has the rubber coating!

What a phone, i mean really, it's amazing. I've only had it 2 days but im already amazed. The camera quality when transferred to pc still looks excellent, the speaker volume is great, screen looks fabulous, etc etc etc. I really am impressed well done again motorola, only the second Moto i've had but i think i'll be getting another when this ones done, does anyone know how to turn on sms reports though please and where to get the drivers for my pc for the phone as i have the cable but no drivers, Cheers

What price plan did u order? I had a talk&text 600 which was with 7 months half price line rental, I phoned them to ask when the phone will arrive and they told me my price plan wasnt valid anymore, the updated price plans are on the website right now.
If I was u I would cancel it right away, they are cr*p. I ordered my phone on clubmobile.co.uk, I will recieve it on tuesday ;)

Hey guys
I've been reading through the comments concerning mac compatibility for the V3x. Really annoying as I own an ibook and have just bought the phone! I had the same problem with BT.
Has anyone tried to install and run the V3x software using virtual pc for the mac? If so have you hit any problems with connecting the phone via the USB cable? Software installed fine for me but I cannot make the computer recognise that the phone is connected under the XP environment!

Mikki I have spoken to Motorola if you look down the thread, I guess we going to have to wait for mac to sort the bluetooth issue out or wait for a third party hack.
It might be a little while as this phone wont be hitting the states and not alot of people are keen on it so they may not bother to make the hack..but from Motorola's point of view its to do with the driver of your bluetooth adaptor if you have a pc then install the lastest WIDCOMM drivers and that should work.

I found this page while Googling for information on a major bluetooth problem I'm having with my new V3x. I just wish I'd found it before starting a new 12 month contract with a crippled phone.
I can pair the phone with my Mac... but that's it. In Bluetooth Preferences, the device is listed as having no capabilities. Not even object push.
I bought this phone because I was happy with my V3s Bluetooth features. Now it looks like I won't be able to send any files to my new phone.
Vodafone have been useless (effectively: "what's a Mac"). I've not tried contacting Motorola yet.

Is the V3 worth buying.I have seen so many positives and negatives I am ready to freak ,but this is my last place to get an opinion.I am looking at buying one and want to know if its worth it.Please email me with feed back please,please,please

Ok Motorola got hold of me today, they saying the reason for not being able to pick up the services is because of the drivers on my bluetooth adaptor (pc). I was told to install Widcomm drivers and that should solve the problem.
With regards to my mac I am unable to do much..until apple sorts it out.

the default codes for the phonew are as follows
phone pin = 00 00
Default security = 00 00 00
phone book pin = 00 00 00 00
i hope this help the rest of the 3 mobile customers. just managed to get these from 3 mobile support and had to practucally guide them to where to find them! it was like pulling teeth fgs!

i ordered a v3x with orange and it came through pretty quick...but as soon as i oppened the box ot came and the screen display was upside down...worked perfecly ok but UPSIDE DOWN!.. i then sent it back and they sent me a new one and that seemed to be ok..it is a bit delayed though..when u press menu it takes about 5 seconds to appear and also the flip when opened wobbles so u have to hold the sceen when using the phone... i have sent that back now as i was really dissapointed and haveorded the samsung sgh-d600! wish me luck!

Just an update, I have spoken to Motorola and they have now passed the bluetooth issue to the data support team and hopefully they will get back to me in a few days.
I would advise anyone with this problem to contact them as well so this problem can be rectified asap.
We need to stress the fact that the OBEX Push services etc are not showing up on the bluetooth services option.

To Nathan: I'am having the same dilemma. On one hand V3x has a better display then N70, nice appearance, and possibly greater sound features. On the other hand N70 is a smartphone which means it has much more possibillities, but also slower functioning. Both of these phones are alleged to have quality camera.I think I'll wait for some reviews

I have two of these phones and one is black and the other grey. So far neither seems to look like it attracts like it scratches easily unlike the new ipod video so no worries there.
