the battery isn't really poor. it functions just like any other rechargeable battery. it has to go through a lot of charge/discharge cycles before it reaches its maximum potential, although with the w230's batt, it DOES seem to take more time. just be patient.
i can say this confidently because there are two w230's in our house, and the older one (i'd say by about a month) has a longer battery life than the newer one. it goes through two whole days of heavy usage before draining.

THE phone is okey but the battery is very poor, 1 day unlimetted one day only yoiu can use you c.p. but not only the battery the memory card did not attach to the mulitimedia, but have a meory card,,,, plz ans...

Im starting to lost my temper with this phone..I bought a memory for it but everytime i switched it to memory card, it states that no files was stored in the memory card where in fact, there's a list of songs stored in it..One thing more, i was trying to download or rather tranfer some of songs from my pc but still, it says, "your phone was not detected" everytime i connect it with the USB..Please help..what will i do?

how can you be happy with the 2G memory if the battery is weak, you cannot even play 1/4 of the songs listed in your expanded memory. poor battery!!!!!

Hi MOTOROLA!
I saw the comments of other user of W230 their aren't happy regarding with the spec's of W230.
For me im contented with the spec's itself.
Eventually it's cool because, imagine the memory slot was 2G capacity and it's normal with this kind of phone.

battery very weak, last for only 1 day with 30 mins talk time. very disappointing.

good phone feature, but poor battery. lasts for only 1 day using mp3 for 1hr. and 3days for normal use. poor poor battery, i'm planning to sell my w230 and look for philips that battery lasts for 30 days.

well i've always been a motorola user and just cant bare seeing myself use other phones like nokia or SE. Recently i lost my SLVR L7i and V3 and im a bit short in cash. So to my desperation i bought this phone W230 and whoah! its better than my V3! this indeed meets my basic needs... good phone for those who really dont need fancy features! thanks moto!

got his phone for a week now, bought it for 1,905. its a great phone, great battery life for normal use. sounds great. if you are looking for a music phone without camera, then this is for you.

very good phone. performs well considering its price. and yes there ARE a lot of file transfer issues, a few workarounds would be to:
1)use a card reader
2)use the USB port located at THE BACK of your PC.
3)get a HIGH END USB/miniUSB CABLE.
story: my brother got this phone and the (lack of) connectivity on his pc drove him nuts, so he tried it on my PC. and it worked. so we started trying different things. it turns out that it was working on my PC because the USB cable i was using was the one that came bundled with my old v3, so we switched cables et voila! it worked on his computer. but when i tried HIS USB cable on my v3i, it didn't have any problems, same goes for the old v3 and my dads v3xx... so its probable that the w230 is really picky with usb cables (i have no idea why, hey moto guys!), buy a good usb cable (test it first w/ the phone), and you're good to go.
