This is noce model for only music, not 4 talky person, b'coz battery is not long back up. F.M. radio quality is also not good as we want. There is sometime probblem in hearing voice of otherhand side.
other wise its good phone............

the battery don't last long not more than 24hrs it is already battery low.

the phone is cool for those who are music lovers "only"....slick small...handy and most of all has an expandable microSD memory up to 2Gb...i already installed 158 mp3 songs. Long battery capacity...what else...hhhhmmm....and its very affordable...i bought it for P1,900 in Junrex SM Cebu....cool huh! if you want to hear it in a loud speaker, you could also connect it using the adapter (2.5 bb jack to 3.5 bb plug)...its possible...now you have already a handy phone and ipod in one hehehehe cool :D

i have this fone,,about a month now,,my problem is the standby time,,its only about 1 day or two,,just stand by,,and about less than 24hours when used as a text fone,,just text,,no music or call or anything,,
what's the problem??

i have this one, i bought it i week ago in sm manila here in the Philippines, its pretty awesome, little cute phone, i love the music and i have the 2gb mmc, i already installed 70 songs, :) its also cheap and affordable, i bought it for only 2190php or about 50 dollars, cheap ayt :) i recommend this if you just like basic phone coz it worth it :) dont you expect much, because HELLO its only basic, if you want more buy high end ! oki ! the only problem is the battery it only last for 2 days in moderate use, but its quite ok

mp3 500 song is okey, but just play in 5 hours bateray lack,usb can't be a modem. wap is slowy, higher font oh noh, i sell them again to my friend just $40. i buy at $59. very poor phone.no irda.Camera. hiksss.

I purchased it recently and comments are
1. Battery on standby i.e. no FM,Music and few minutes call is ONLY 2 DAYS- VERY BAD CONSIDERING IT HAS 960 mah BATTERY.
2. MUSIC PLAYER IS VERY BASIC - NO EQUALISER FOR TONE CONTROL-bass sound is bad with headphone-only voice and high frequency is heard well.
3. headphone is too big and does not properly fit and as such outside sound is disturbing.
4. Speaker volume at full volume is only average for a phone with music player. You cannot hear it in buses, trains etc. only in silent rooms you can hear it and that too with low sound. Defeats the purpose of player when you are on the move
5. The display brightness/contrast of screen cannot be adjusted and that drains the battery.
6.Within a music folder the songs donot automatically play serially. You have to play each song after the previous stops.only the ALL SONGS folder plays automatically.
7. Despite the so called crystal talk tech., the call quality is just above average.
8. Motorola could have cahrged few hundred rupees more and given better Music Player, louder sound, better quality headphones and better battery backup.
IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT MUSIC AND THAT TOO QUALITY SOUND, THEN DONOT GO FOR THIS PHONE.
bETTER BUY SOMETHING IN THE RS.4000-6000 RANGE FROM SOME OTHER BRAND LIKE SONY ERICCSON, NOKIA ETC.

motorola w230 comes up with 1.1mb internal memory. i you use driver u should have windows2000 or xp because thats what the software support only? im not sure but i think thats what the cause you the problem. another way is to insert your memory card into your adapter and insert it in your memory card reader. you should just have two folders(music & pictures) drag and drop the song s and pics you want. dont try to put mp4 or wma files format bcus it wont read. only mp3 formats guys. this is a good phone and saves a lot of money.

I purchased the phone because the advertized products seemed good value for money. major disapointment. the mp3 player can only see mp3 tracks. cannot read mp3 tags. the playlist option is the only good thing. the radio recording I's nice, but. You can only store the recordings on the phones 1.1MB onboard memory. you cannot transfer data between phone and memory card. But hay south african's it comes with a 1GB memory card. and with converter software you can store around a 1000 songs on the card! otherwise look at the motorola v975 it takes a memory card. has a build in media player with album & mp3 tag reconigtion. also it can play back video s and have a 18MB onboard memory. but no radio. I also owned a motorola v975. great phone!

That is not trure . I have one . And i can create as much folder i need under music folder. But yest it has a problem(disadvantages rather) that i can not
play selected sons as there is not any multiple select option but "play all". But if you judge it keeping the price tag in mind i think it is the best phn in the market at present .

pinoy, 08 Jul 2008I jus got the phone from a plan from globe telecom...I didn... more1.insert sd card in phone; 2.open (on) phone; 3.connect to computer using usb cable; 4.a message will appear on phone then click ok; 5. computer will now detect your unit; 6.copy all mp3 to "music" folder only(drag n drop). you can not create any other folder for your mp3.

its not that the w230 cant read the memory cards, its just that you have to use your memory card adapter to load music in it. u just create a folder; you can name it "MUSIC" or "PICTURES" or whatever and then drag 'n drop all the music you want to the folder you created... when you put back your memory card in your phone you will most definately see and play all the music you have put in. it is really as simple as that. Y'all can do it and see if it happens
