Nokia brand to be replaced with Microsoft Lumia

21 October, 2014
We knew it was inevitable but the legendary Nokia phone brand will soon come to an end.

Lower or middle class family dont know much about Microsoft. They know about Nokia. So they will hesitate to buy a microsoft mobile. Its sounds like Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax. That's why, R.I.P Microsoft not Nokia. They still remain in our heart.

It's better Microsoft do not erase 'Nokia'. If it does, it will be the beginning of END OF MICROSOFT. If you can conduct a survey, you can see that people love Nokia more than Microsoft.

AnonD-38975, 21 Oct 2014I have no idea how the big marketing PhDs at Microsoft fail... moreYes, it's feel sad that Nokia Brand is coming to end. But Business is lot different than your image between consumers. Biggest reason for Nokia to fail is that they didn't changed speedily as Android gripped market. They didn't adopted Android, that is their biggest failure. So they lost market and financially got weaken, so Microsoft found the opportunity to come to Mobile Market with Best Brand which was in their worst shape. Finally Microsoft is not working to build Nokia Brand, they hv put their money in to it to build themselves. It's fault of Nokia, that didn't changed with time. Still Nokia X Phones between consumers are regarded as best build and reliable phones. If they had adopted early, Samsung would NOT hv been in this position Today. Bad Luck NOKIA!!!

Since the day i started using mobile, was holding only nokia mobile in hand, really love the design and built quality of the phone, if nokia had adopted android at earlier stage, there wont be samesung or isheep dominating the smarphone market, it Elop mistake who choosed the wrong turn towards Windows OS, Luv nokia forever !!!

Cos the hardware is Great. Now,i bought a Lumia 1520. Why? Cos nokia too. I never bought nokia symbian phone. Why? Cos it is terible. I prefer window phone. Cos it's better than android. I also used android os for 2 yrs. The browsing experirnce is more worst than window phone. Full all downloading crap apk files. Always asking do need to scan virus whatever. And by the way. To those who thinking Google can bought microsoft. You really are day dreaming.

He was sent by Microsoft do destroy Nokia. Of course Microsoft got all from Nokia (invention etc), and thats what they needed to be at least a little bit successful in cell phone market.

which is why i sold out my 1520 after few months of using it. microsoft seems to not develop there windows phone os but change the nokia brand name. i have no idea what success it would bring to the company. bad move.

well it is just sad how a huge brand as Nokia who reigns over the past cellphone market now going to disappear. Microsoft is almost all to blame, it's like they used Nokia as a tool to improve until the way they are now.

Jolla cellphones are cool, beautiful yet simple. Somehow resembles Nokia, wanted it that badly, too. but unfortunately its market is very limited, not even available in my country and yet it launches its device very seldom compared to other brand, and is not reachable to every market segment. the only Jolla-jolla is high end phone for me, while I'm just a mid.

                                either way, Good job, Nokia.

PK, 22 Oct 2014Your comment is biased and exaggerated. You just telling th... moreMy comment says the facts, the truth.

                                  The C5-03 is S60v5, not S60v3.

If you don't want to use your phone for anything serious, then it's obvious that a lower range phone is enough for you.

The Nokia was already dying, way before the announcement from Elop. The N-Gage was already died, and the Nokia/Symbian market share was rapidly declining. In this time, Nokia was far behind the competition in both HW and SW sense.

I admit that the Nokia 808 has the best camera. Today, it's still has the best camera in a phone in the world. But that's the only good thing in that phone. Nothing else. So doesn't worth to mention.
As I said to the other commenter here, the N9 is a good example for that Nokia was years behind the competition.

Only Nokia was responsible for it's own fall.

The WP is unpopular partly because of the crap UI and limitations.
