Sarkozy, 18 Jul 2009Hear Hear!!!!
I don't even know why Apple had to be brou... moreThe relevance is this.
Why aren't the custom Vodafone phones (HTC Magic, Blackberry Storm) selling as well as the others?
Are people leaving Vodafone UK to get iPhones with O2?
I guess we'll have to wait until next week when Apple release their Q2 figures.

I don't even know why Apple had to be brought in this discussion when it's clearly not relevant to the news article...

[deleted post]Hi, nice app, but still did not see the multi-touch feature in the video link provided?
Can the N97 support multitouch with sw upgrades?
Thanks.

[deleted post]Ok, given. I do not live in Australia and you seem to work in the industry, so you should know better than me - but how does that relate to the article? Apple has outsold Nokia (and all other smartphone brands) in the USA (and it seems Australia now as well according to you). That is because markets differ and consumer uptake differs.
In the US the iphone is the top-selling smartphone, but in Europe and Africa, UAE it is Nokia and aparently in the East it is between LG and Samsung.
They all have a place in the worldwide market. If you prefer Apple, great, if you prefer Nokai, great, if you prefer Samsung or LG, also great. What is the point of slagging a specific brand here? People still buy whatever brand they want to buy or is available.

Andy Burgin, 17 Jul 2009This just shows with Nokia because of there good name with ... moreSorry, but that comment makes no sense at all. Are you commenting on the Nokia camera features or the phones themselves?
P.S. If you really want a great camera - go buy a camera, but you won't be able to make calls on it.

This just shows with Nokia because of there good name with ease of use mobiles, they know they can release below par mobiles an still seem to out sell the others, thats why Nokia do not seem bothered joining the 12 mega-pixel camera chase as they will just keep a close eye on it until they release there 12 mega-pixel camera mobile, like they did with the 8 mega-pixel market, but we want to see something more better from Nokia nowdays but with the state of the economy whats the use of releasing a mobile that everyone can afford thats Nokia thinks

Fanboy, 17 Jul 2009Only because there is no iPhone 3gs. =pYou mean the most expensive Firmware update? The iPhone 3GS is nothing more than a firmware update and a new processor. Puhlease.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2009This doesnt show that apple are losing out to Nokia as Voda... moreForget the I-phone. The 5800 has more than the same functionality and is half of the price. N97 is another leaque, with the keyboard, 5 Mp cam and many other features you dont get from Apple, like having a spare battery or using your phone as a modem etc.

People like us who visit websites like GSM Arena know a fair bit about phones. Your av. member of the public who doesn't have much knowledge of phone technology will always go for the safe, tried and tested options. Nokia have been around for years and people will buy anything they release due to familarity and lack of knowledge. I waitd 6 mths for the N97 to come out and was pretty dissapointed with it. I ended up with the HTC Magic which is in a different league...very impressed with it!
