Am new to this post, but have just been reading other ppl's quotes here and just wanted to point out that Vodafone are not the leading network in the UK - in fact far from it! Do some research ppl.

Just cause there is a merger of companies doesnt make it a better overall network, there are over 70mil active sims in the UK, the market is absolutely saturated, as for network sharing, o2 and vodafone have just gone into a network sharing agreement to improve coverage and especially 3g coverage which I agree o2 doesnt have as good as others, and o2 has the biggest market share in the UK so far so making o2 the market leader not Vodafone. I have to say I am supprised that apple and Vodafone didnt comae to an arangement to sell the iphone cause I have heard more people say that if Vodafone had the iphone they would stick with them, not so much orange.

This is small news, the big news is that China Unicom is releasing the iPhone in China on October 1, when they will also be launching a brand new 3G network.

WiFi will be disabled to meet Chinese Government requirements.

This should help cement the iPhone as the number one selling smart phone.

Orange have merged with t mobile and now have won the iphone contract, orange are expanding massivly you can tell just by looking at what they have been up to lately. o2 are not a bad network far from it but orange are fast trackibg to over take them and maybe even vodafone as the leading network in the uk

I agree, the palm pre I have heard is really good, but I think it will be impossible for any company to bring out a phone as good as the iphone, palm just doesnt have a big enough presence in the UK

I also work in an O2 retail store. I just hope this doesn't signify a shift of focus from the iPhone to the Palm Pre etc. O2 would be making a big mistake if this is the case

no n97 because of a certain app that o2 dont support, and n96 is rubbish anyway, plastic and full of flaws, i like the n86 personally and dont like nokias really, but i say blackberry is the way to go

I work for o2 in retail store, the amount of people that moan about orange network coverage is amazing, not many people moan about o2s coverage, cheap people will move to orange so they dont have to pay that much, we will see how it goes, but I see it as bad move by apple, hope I am proven wrong

It's about time that the iPhone is coming to a different network other than O2! I've been with Orange for many years as I get great coverage where I live, but not so good with O2!

My upgrade is due at the end of Oct and there has been nothing that has caught my interest. Now the iPhone is official on Orange... I got something to look forward too! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

this is fantastic news about the Iphone there are so many customers out there who are loving the iphone but hating o2. in all honesty i thought when the iphone left o2 it woukd end up on vodafone. i think the move to orange is going to do so much fot apple in the uk and for orange. orange have got such a good range of tariffs and the iphone is certainly going to be interesting on it
