Why? On a 5.5" device this is overkill. Don't even try to suggest otherwise. Not only that, the added pixels/resolution destroys performance on the battery and the fps front (should you care to play games on this thing).

Nice technological achievement, but really dumb in practice until we get some SoCs that can actually handle this efficiently.

720p I'm OK with, 1080p I'm great with and QHD I'm fine with. This is just pushing it now.

                Give me a break.
This people commenting like it was a Smartphone screen.
PEOPLE USE YOUR EYE IT SAID 5.5" NOT 5.5'

                  prefer true black tech
                  denser ppi is secondary.
my tab s is 300+ ppi, my s4 is 400+ ppi. i think they are same good.
                  400+ might not be necessary.
i still have interrst to try a 500+ ppi true black screen
more meaningful is to bring up the ppi on nb screen, desktop screen.
would we see 130+ ppi true black nb desktop screen at affordable price in near future?

Because this is what we need on a 5'' screen...4k resolution...next they will invent pants, that forever hold your fart smell...because that is just as useful, actually slightly more, I'm personally surprised they didn't think of before.

let's hope note 5 will have the same display resolution and min 4000 mah,or in the worst case a brick battery with 200 000 mAh

So 1080 is for low end, 2k mid range and 4k high end.. this will be the trend...

Wow so sharp, just crazy. Wouldn't it be overkill for the battery and brightness?
