But it def was a close to full touch screen phone well before the iphone. It doesnt compare to the iphone but they were on the right track. I just didnt want to give credit to the iphone for a full touch screen phone.
Also if this is not something I can update to my n97 Im going with Maemo

Did Apple copy those features?? the accelerometer?? wifi or whatever..there were some other phones before Iphone that have some touch capabilities. I agree that iphone has an unbeatable browser, nice touch sensitivity multi touch, etc...they have more apps because they are the most popular touch phone in the planet. But, apps aside, its a boring phone. UI is too simple, it gets slow when you open some apps, and so on...
I think apple copy the idea of scrooling, like the ipod from the mouse laptops, dont you think so?

cool ui, i love it, i hope it'll have lots of widgets, and other manufacturer who comtributed to symbian foundation can use it too, samsung, se and moto so we can have variation and we'll all be happy... :D

And no matter how you put it, everybody DID copy Apple. Everybody copied the UI and touchscreen. Nokia copied the Appstore (still inbeatable). LG copied the external design with the arena, but it was a cheap knock off. Samsung copied the the smaller box. Motorola and HTC copied the USB wall charger in the box. Even blackberry had to respond with the Storm.
Face it, if the iPhone never came out, manufacturers would havecarried on slacking and we wouldnt be where we are today in the industry. It has been the biggest shake up in this decade, if not ever in mbile phones.

Apple are not the only ones using capacative screens... LG Prada was out on the market before Iphone... Introduced as well.
Why does apple keep koping LG, in you oppnion.
So pelase, if you think iPhone is great an innovative, keep to iPhone forums, cause only there are people that blind and ignorant, that they actually bellieaves that!

Symbian gurus from nokia, I dont know how MAEMO works or looks like. I just hope you guys make an animated UI like HTC did with HD2 and others from its brand. Symbian now is a useful, but too much boring system, you know what I mean?? Just an opinion form a long time user who wishes HTC make a phone like HD2 but smaller, even better, like HD2 with android OS.

Anyone know if this will only apply to Symbian S60v5 or will it apply to others like the s60v3s as well?
I'm planning to get a Nokia E72 but reluctant to if the OS on it will be obsolete and non upgradable within a year or less
