Samsung Galaxy Note5 brings Exynos 7420, ultra-sleek body

13 August, 2015
The new design is all metal and glass. The chipset and camera have been lifted from the Galaxy S6 too.

Lol, are they that much of an idiots, ripping every single thing that was considered as a note. Like the s6 it will be half priced in a month. Android users cares for SD card, removable battery. What a shame for this brand

No external card. No ir. Non removable battery with less power. No 128 version. No type c.
I think note4 is by far better choise if someone want spen.

Bybye Samy....After using all Note series I am very disappointed. My Note4 has 32GB storage and I have 64GB memory card. Almost all utilized. There is no way for me to migrate to Note5. It seems samy is not interested in my business so I take to LG, and wait for LG4 Pro...

Oh my god 0.6mm less thick than note 4 with such stupid hardware and battery and you call it flagship phone.we already wave white flags instead of buying your so called flagship phone. good move by reducing 0.6 mm as your phone was getting stuck in atm machine by 0.6 mm now it perfectly fits it hahahaha nexy time what would you give us instead of phone , a slimmer metro card by reducing further few mm hahaha get life

1.Poor battery 3000 mah lesser than even 2012 launched note 2 3100 mah.

2.Same 16mp camera from last 4 phones after note 3 by samsung note edge, note 4, s6 edge , s6

3.Non removable battery having just 6 months max life of full efficiency after which it will drop further which would have already poor backup with QHD battery hungry screen.Quite big cost to replace it ir repair it after 6 months of warranty for acessories.

4.Crackable glass on back which will cost you buy whole new expensive body instead of just replacing the back.

5.No Infrared blaster which was there in even note 3.cant use phone as remote for appliances such as tv or ac

6.No Sd card slot cannot use our memory cards bought already and having stored 50 more gigs of data

                7.No 128 gb option available

8.over sized capacitive buttons than note 4 launched year back.

9.No usb type c which many of us were waiting.

10.No waterproof or dustproof certification which people were expecting as it has become more common these days selling with even moto G3 sold for 12999.

11.No enhancements in spen ejection features as expected also not much changes in features of spen

12.Same processor like before flopshow of s6 or same processor comparable to note 4 variants in some countries launched with exynos last year.

13.No changes in touchwiz and its features like option of uninstall many of non usable apps which most of us dont use and eat ram and memory and battery like anything.

14.No changes in samsung knox which was already troublesome.

15.Very hard repairabilty of note 5 as you cant see whats happening inside or even if samsung have used cheap non branded hardware inside its phone like battery non branded who knows and who can see.

16.Very highly priced even if is nothing compared to note 4, which will be almost half of price of note 5 when it would be launched in market.

17.huge loss to people who buy it as it launches and company by note 5 getting flop as they will sell it 50 percent cheaper after launch of iphone 6s within 3 months or so.So intead of loosing 30000 bucks buy note 4 for 30000 rupees when note 5 launch and keep note 4 for few months and buy note 5 if you still want it for 30000.So in 60000 which is original launch price of note 5 you can have both note 4 and note 5 if you wait few months.

18.Nothing unique in note series these days as its same in design and everything like s series now and also there are lots of phones one third of price of note 5 with same 5 or more screen.nobody will buy note 5 for just s pen which most of people dont use or forget to use.

19.Same QHD display no 4k display like competitors like sony z5 + which already rumoured

LG G4 is the best decision... The design is Glass and Metal on Note 5 but looks just same like S6... so many brothers and sisters... When spending this much money.. I would prefer unique design like what LG has done with G2 G3 and G4.. Very dissappointed withe Note 4.. simply going behind Iphone... No SD Card... Non Removable battery.. Its a waste... Understand no SD and removable battery.. why not add Water and Dust Proof Like Sony...

Its not the performance matters to the users... Its always the design and features when paying so much money for a mobile... I would support LG and Sony Xperia Z3+ over Note 5

So... putting S pen aside. LG G4 got a nice camera, SD slot and a removable battery. I think the choise is obvious.

Torgeirn, 13 Aug 2015Atleast in US you can buy a 128gb version. i don't know if... moreAcording to the article there wont be one.
I usually rely on GSM arena articles to have correct information, I dont bother to scan the web for all pices of information.

But if that is true, that there will be one 128GB version, it changes things a bit.Even if it's only on selected markets.

But I still think, the best option for Samsung, would have been to go all in, on the 64GB version, to drive costs down. Few people, even among those here complaining about the lack of memory/microSD slot, would have opted for the 128GB version.
The price difference between the 32GB and 64GB version, will result in most opting for the 32GB version. And I feel that it doesnt offer enough free storage for a flagship in todays market, it's even a bit on the low end for average flagship users.

Those saying they will leave Samsung forever, now, are probably just trolling, or to let down, to make sane comments.

Skipping this note, makes sense. But you dont know what samsung will release in a year.

You never have to be loyal to a brand. Just get the best option for you, at the moment.

Sure, if you already were eyeing that iPhone 6 plus, the 6s plus should be interesting. But, if that was the case, dont come here, and talk about battery capacity, or that it isn't removable, or the lack of micro SD slot as reasons.
You had already settled for the lesser in those categories, if you were looking at the iPhone 6 plus.
The Note 5 should still be a contender for your money, the day the iPhone 6s Plus is released. I'm not saying apple wont beat the Note 5. But at this point in time, you simply can't tell.

If you instead are taling about a motorola. Well, even if the note 5 would have delivered on every spot. The Motorola would stil have been a better value for money option. But it would still not have the same kind of performance, and would lack the S Pen. It would have still been well worth considering. But if you were willing to sacrifise the performance in the first place, and the s pen, there really wasnt any reason to wait for the Note 5, you knew it would not be as good of a value for money. Looking at the price of the note 5 would probably still have convinced you to get the motorola.

For me it's a good enough upgrade, but for people who already own a Note 4 I don't really see the point! Yeah better CPU, metal chassis, but what else really?

This is the first time Samsung played it "way too safe" for Note series, and they will have to pay for this.

This phone is a joke, everything good that previously differentiated the note series has been ripped out. Instead we get another form over function device, this will sell very poorly and I am done with Samsung. Hopefully Xiaomi and Huawei bring their high quality, value for the money product to North America, we need fresh competition, not crappy $1000 stylish devices built around hype and marketing.

bad bad note 5, 13 Aug 2015note 4 has pure 2.7 ghz quad core instead of exynos 7420 wh... moreThe CPU of the Note 5 is not only more powerfull than the one in the Note 4. It also uses less battery.
So you are wrong about the CPU.

When it comes to storage, there are reasons (the main storage of the Note 5 is much quicker, but the controller of that storage does not support MicroSD, so it would need an additional controller, eating your battery, and also, how would the file managing work, where you have one really quick storage, that is good for games, for your images, for faster overview in the album, for storing taken images, to quicker be able to take a new, for recording video, with minimum of missed frames, what is left, is pretty much just your media library, and that could be handled externaly, and thus not screwing with your system, by slowing it down, other, when you are actually looking for media in your library).

Why however they did do a 32GB version, if they skipped the 128GB version, I cant understand, better then to go for one storage option only and chose 64GB.

I dont think storage in the 64GB version will be an issue for that many people. Do backups. If you absolutely need to carry high def videos with you for a long period of time without wifi, a USB on to go storage solution will suffice.
