Just imagine without SE. Gross! nokia and .. gulp.. samsung will be left. Eeew! I soo can't live with that! Their phones are just really really hideous! I mean fashion emergency much! Their phones weight like crazy, looks fat, and look like... eew. It looks like its for 50+ year olds! And that "SAMSUNG" logo.. EEWW! It's so HUGE and UGLY! And talk about changing the UI! Their UI is soo boring! Oh my gosh SE you better do well this year! You're actually the only company who makes those stylish and funky designed phones!

being a sony ericsson user I feel proud. but i can't think the poor condition of this company. I think it would be better for them if they try to provide the best products inspite of losing hope.

Reports like this will hurt sales of Sony ericcson evenmore.
When X10 was announced it was the best android phone but now Google Nexus is number one with latest android version & Amoled display just don't understand why ericcson launching X10 with previous of Android & also the 65k limitation. It is not the wise strategy from Sony Eric with high price & of course launching very lately at that time it will out of competition.

We are talking about the real bane for SE - i.e. the Low and Mid end marked which has been captured by Nokia and Samsung.

Drop the ericsson name !!! 10 years ago Sony was the best electronics company in the world and their name was a real mark but Sony Ericsson sounds like a cheap name like Alcatel or Sagem. The name is very important in bussiness.. People want their devices to have cool and strong names. Also SE design looks old... they need better designers... Its all in the name and design. All the companies have the same functions mostly..

[deleted post]The question about CDMA is wheather it isn't better to let it die, now when GSM has been adopted worldwide - no one benefits from different standards (thus less competition), aside from stock owners.

Nokia succided on it low end and low2mid end range phones. If SE can launch some low end and mid range phone with there walkman, cybershot, PSP or WEGA / VIERA technology, that will be great.

I aint had a good gaming phone since NgageQD. I loved the design. Just 320x240 resolution, accln meter and a touch screen are needed to resurrect the design for SE.

Wish I was in the tech dept of SE. The tech and management dept sud be choosen from amongh us SE diehard fans.

Sony should make the phones cheap. In Nigeria were nokia does must of its sales they slash prices every month. E.g the nokia E71 costs 290 usd but sonyE X1 Costs 450 usd so most people buy nokia. I will be buying an E72 on monday morning but what i really want is an X2 but its too expensive.

They go, they like something and if they can pay they pay.

Company already clear a point that they will not made very-low-end phones to show increment in numbers of handset sold. They must have know the risks they have calculated and what they are doing is almost good. They need to cover the market by introducing different handsets, they have to experiment and settle down with different technologies and OSes and than they and we have to see how they did.

Recovering is not an easy way so yes they made few mistakes and will make few more (I hope not) but it is how things work. A huge mistake is delaying X2, but I think now they understand WinMo pattern so anything next will be a better WinMo product. They are doing pretty good job with Symbian. Now they should evolve X2 form to meet new challenges.

I am SE fan since I have a cellphone.
                                        Two major mistakes:
                                        - huge delay with touchscreens
                                        - decreasing the quality
