its so massive. why would you want an ipod with extra large screen. its prob good for videos. the only problem is that it does not support 3G which initally should have 3G so you can browse the net like a net book. pointless and no camera, video calling hello.

prob best to have it a mac OS instead like a netbook. in the end no many people wold buy this. to big and defeats its purpose whiles a iphone has almost the same components its smaller and has a built in phone.

waste of money and prob expensive.

It would have been INNOVATIVE if it ran OSX instead of iPhone OS. I'm sure that someone will hack this thing and install OSX at some stage. It's a FAIL if you ask me.

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2010n900 Is more capable than this ipad!Don't be silly. The ipad is in a different category from the n900. You're like comparing a toaster to a microwave. The ipad is about apps, browsing, reading, and entertainment on a bigger screen. It has no intentions of competing with any smartphone. Reading ebooks and watching movies is better on an ipad tgan your n900. So don't be silly alright.

Although I don't really care for an ipad. I was waiting for some iphone 4.0 OS update. Instead, it was all about the ipad. I already have an iphone and a MacBookPro. I won't need this ipad no matter how sleek and cool it is. Oh well.

5ushi, 28 Jan 2010This is for a specific niche. Unfortunately, most of us... moreNo multitasking, no flash support, no USB???????????

Is that a joke? That's just an overpriced eBook... Good that I'm not a fan of these i-things. For the next 20 generations of this ipad thing Steve Job is going to add the multitasking, flash, USB and all that one by one and by the time it makes into a full TABLET it's going to be 2050. Apple always do that to make the most money out of their silly fans.

Congratulation apple fans another junk you can buy to show off in school.

Too heavy for a hand-held. Heavy usage could risk long term wrist injury. Hand-held prefer < 300g.

I like the idea, but I hate these cheerleaders in the vid.
What is the practical use of this? at home i'd rather sit in front of a 20+ inch monitor with a non virtual keyboard and mouse... away from home it's too big and inconvenient to carry everywhere

This thing is hilarious. Lack GPS. It can't multitask regardless of the 1ghz processor. It has better memory to handle flash and yet. No flash. Not even video cam to chat with friends and people with skype. It also run on microSIM. You cant even put your card on it forced to pay AT&T more for data. 3.2 makes it harder to jailbreak. No screen that supports e-ink. The only benefit of this product is you can read e books in the dark. Real revolutionary.

Fail! i think apple is slowing down. look at this I PAD its big! and it only has 1 ghz? cmon. and still no multitasking, no flash support that's the main thing should have for a notebook or a netbbok. but the speed of the i pad is still impressive. but do i recommend this? if your a big apple fan you might get it but if not don't buy it.

This is for a specific niche.

Unfortunately, most of us gadget geeks (not including me) are having a whine because this is just a bigger iPod touch. People complaining of no camera (well duh - who on earth is going to carry this around), but then, it is disappointing to see no video-conference camera.

Apparently, this runs a 1GHz custom built A4 CPU which has a month standby time and approx 11 hours worth of usage.

There is no multitasking, no flash support in web-browsing, and no USB ports.
Another thing to note is this runs iphone OS 3.2

A good thing is it seems that apps that are ipod touch / phone capable are able to run on this without problems.

Well, to conclude I would buy this to share photos of me kids when the grandparents are around, or to just simply use internet. Good for having around since it does just the basics, but for those in the know, a netbook is actually alot cheaper.
