Never had battery drain in lumia 950xl, but overall the battery is sad. The drain comes minly when i use the device, consumes avout 1% per minute. Which is way to much.

I just started using the phone, build 10586. For roughly half of the first day, the power consumption was extremely high, very much due to installation and update of existing apps that were from my existing MSA (there were close to 300 apps). One of the updates included the store app.

Additionally, I noticed that edge was consuming a large amount of the battery power - found that loads of different windows were created and not closed out when I clicked between apps and internet (maybe 20+). Closing them all out seemed to have a noticeable impact on the power consumption.

A day after all of the updates completed, and setting usage conservatively (turning off wifi, setting e-mail polling to hourly, display brightness, and a couple of other tweaks), I'm getting about 1.3 days' battery life on one full (and quick) charge.

Will see how much of an actual improvement this makes in the next couple of days.

After the last update (now Version 1511 - build 10.0.10586.0) the battery consumes power. A full battery is near empty in about 6 hours. The phone feels warm. What is the reason. What is the solution ? Can I return too a previous buildnr ?

I think it will be massively helpful for future reference.

                        Another thing:

MS should do a very very simple thing, take the 640 body: include a 410 or 6xx chip into it and add a dedicated camera buttin, maybe a finger printer and voilá.....

Unfortunately, I disagree that the Lumia's battery life is average. I find it to be astoundingly poor. Doing anything on the phone drains the battery at atleast a %1 a minute. The standby power drain was atrocious until I turned off Windows Hello and glance screen. Still not great, but ateast it doesn't drop 50% in standby over 5 hours. The display, while beautiful, gets hot and drains the battery at a ridiculous pace. Please microsoft, do something about the 950s battery life. I would have traded much better battery life for a worse screen.

The battery result of the 950XL (62h) is in line with what one would expect (from Android handsets) from a 3340mAh battery with an SD810 and a 5.7'' WQHD screen. It's 30% higher than those of the 950 (62h vs 48h), although 950 XL battety is just 11% higher capacity (3340mAh vs 3000mAh), not to mention it has to feed a beefier processor (SD810 vs SD808) and a bigger screen (5.7'' WQHD vs 5.2'' WQHD).

So is seems either the 950 sample had a hw issue with the radio (as the biggest anomaly on the scores is the Talk time), or the 950 came with an older build of the os (than that of the 950XL), which is doubtful though, since GSMArena got the 2 phones at the same time, so I suppose they have the same os build.

It is more imperative than ever that GSMArena, when the official upgrade to Windows Mobile 10 comes to the W8.1 handsets, do a comprehensive battery test for a wide range of W8.1 handsets, before (W8.1) and after the upgrade (W10).
                            Lumia 640, 730/5, 830, 930, 1520 should all be included.

Nokia Lumia 1520's battery test still beats these two phones in all three categories here. what a shame..

                                Battery looks fine.
This "standby time" for... days measure is stupid.
WHO leaves the phone uncharged these days for more than a day?
Users have reported a comfortable single day and some even two days (mixed with use). Which is FAR FAR better than my Android devices.

Also there is no Nokia Lumia 950 (XL) you know...

I Buy recently a almost new Nokia n900. I'm amazed about 2009 phone. If they at that time, chage the game with maegoo now they be on first place. Stereo speaker . Micro usb. Card slot fantastic quality harware. Hope they will come back, again but I'm,afraid in this moment only android is viable. No time for new OS . Look at jolla look at BB 10 ,Samsung's tizen or even windows phone.

Check Xda or xposedThat is nice, though I'd like to see the option to change resolution fully integrated into the O/S. No need for 3rd party apps that possibly introduce security holes, no rooting or hacking required.

When writing the review were you using the devices with Glance enabled? as this will effect the standby time. Turning this function off will highlight the actual standby time.
