Do you think that he is reasonable? Do you agree that 600MHz CPU and 256MB RAM is much more that Nokia's 434 MHz and 128 MB? Please, remember that Symbian is much more lightweight OS than IPhoneOS and it needs much less hardware power.
Sometimes I need to use several applications at the same time. For example I use Opera Mini, Picodrive SEGA games emulator and Nimbuzz at the same time. Opera is for searching cheats for SEGA games and I never close Nimbuzz because I want to stay in touch with my girlfriend. Unfortunately It's impossible to do with IPhone: neither open 3 applications at the same time, nor comfortably play SEGA games because there is no keypad.
Also this iphonotroll has no idea about n97's OS. Look at this information from wiki: "There have been four major releases of S60: "Series 60" (2001), "Series 60 Second Edition" (2003), "Series 60 3rd Edition" (2005) and "S60 5th Edition" (2008)". Where does he get information saying that Symbian 5th edidtion is 1999? He's just an iphonotroll.
What about camera? Should I prove that n97's camera is much more better?
If you're reasonable you should know that IPhone's camera is the worst part of it.
And finally... the price... I've paid 2 times less than you. IPhone in my country is more expensive because there is no official apple stores but 12 of Nokia official stores only in my city.
Anyway, I like IPhone. It's one of the greatest phones in the world. I think that only Google Nexus One, HTC HD2 and HTC Desire have more powerful hardware and OS (android) but they are newer. I'm waiting for IPhoneOS 4.0.

The Nokia N97 was released simply as a "stop-gap" device. It was never intended to be a long term seller - Nokia knew they had the N97 Mini and N900 coming.
The reason Nokia released the N97 was SIMPLY to take/deflect attention away from Apple when they launched the iPhone 3GS 16/32Gb in July 2009.
It was far from finished, terrible bugs but Nokia had NOTHING else last Summer and they knew that Apple would sell huge units. So they pushed out the standard N97. Now a discontinued phone on all UK phone networks.

Now everyone has agred Samsung Wave will be THE phone of the year with its groundbreaking tech and specs, the battle rumbles on who is second between Nokia N97 and iPhone3GS. Looks like Apple so far.

The aweso... more- By software if you mean OS, then the Sybian OS is much more powerful and open environment with very good resource management and security. It is a real Smartphone OS unlike the Iphone's plus It can handle a large amount of multitasking without a problem.
- Sure the Ovi store is much smaller than the Apple App store, but there are many many 3rd party apps available for pay and free all over the web and more a coming in very fast thanks to the OS's open environment. Also we can install any app we want on the phone not only ones that Apple (or this case Nokia) allows.
- The Screen size is same, 3.5". However, the N97 is a perfect widescreen and therefore movies fill in nicely without being stretched or cropped. Also, despite having no Graphic accelerator or a very powerful processor, the screen resolution of the N97 is much greater than of the Iphone.
- The touch interface of the Iphone is designed to be used with two hand and is very difficult to use otherwise, meanwhile the N97 feels natural to be used with one hand and you only need 2 hand if you use the qwerty,However typing can still be done with one hand if the numeric keypad is used.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2010N97 is crap it has too mant software problemsThe N97 runs the exact same OS as my 5800 and I have to say, I have absolutely no problems with it. I am a very heavy users and uses this phone to the full potential, running many apps at the same time and is always tapping away at the phone. Yet It almost never crashes or gets any errors.

I would have bought the N97 instead of the N86, but the idea of it scratching it's own camera lens put me off.
Nokia really dropped the ball on that one.

Perhaps you should be selecting a device and tell us of 10 features which are better? 1 device (that oozes quality might I add) vs dozens of handsets is hardly fair is it? You just pick and choose for the best features...

Nokia has been making much effort to create gsm, wifi umts network patents, they just can't tihink of other attractive things like ui and multitouch, I don't wan to go into detail about the lawsuit
new ui and multitouch on nokia symbian 3 -4
meego , this will make apple has no more advantages
n97 mini is still great without graphic chip and slow CPU,
my ideal phone will be like n97 mini form factor with much more high spec, must have capacitive screen cause I live in tropical zone! Btw 3.2 inch touch screen is the perfect size

i wish next i phone2b more up2date such at least 1ghtz processor , 512ram ,5mp cam with xinon flash, second cam 4video call and video chat ,3.5 wvga super amoled screen , full bluetooth 3support, full flash and ajax support in net browser while play whatever multimidia files and open source.

i think the old iphone OS is very poor quality and it was not qualified to compete with other OS like maemo...and i love iphone because it has alot of apps in its application store and and i wish the ovi store could be like it one day...:(:S becuz i hav a nokia phone its n97 mini:D its a gr8 phone :D and
