Again, not that many high and mid range nokia devices are sold in stores, espcially in the north american region. So like you, people have less knowledge about them. speaking of dumb suggestion, tell that to apple because the ipad is the most dumbest idea of them all. it is just a giant ipod. also, apple just enhanced the ipod by adding the phone or call element.

Nokia are not really losers, the thing is that Apple has made up their mind to ride on technologies of other people, when it suits them best they would like to sue others but it has been for a longtime that Nokia is a mobile fon company apple just recently got into the mobile race there all the technologies from making calls to receiving calls, wi-fi and all these was developed by nokia and some others, if apple want to get into that business they need to pay.Other mobile companies have been paying quietly so i see no reason for apple to try and play smart and not pay, this just common sense i am sure if it was the other way round nokia would have to pay to survive in this mobile business.

Apple is always ready for a challenge, as long as the competition plays fairly. Apple is not even afraid of microsoft, so why would google intimidate them? Apple is not suing google because there's no reason for them to. It's as simple as that. So you think Apple should sue google? For what reason?
As for Nokia, where's your proof that Apple has infringed on any Nokia patented technology? There's not even a court date and you'ree already passing judgement. Just shows what kind of mentality you have. A low one :) Why should Apple pay for licensing fees if they don't have to? But then again, I think it's wise to just wait for the court's ruling for none of us know all the details, and unlike you, I will not pretend to know everything about what Apple is licensed to use and make silly assumptions.

i do know this though, nokia is still in the lead overall. again, high and mid range nokia devices are not available in stores, unlike the iphone. so people have less knowledge about them.

smartphones are either going in the cpu direction or the camera mp road.
nokia is in both roads creating a well balance feature packed smartphone.
win mo lags as well.
Most of the smartphones you have mentioned are not available in the North American region except for the htc hd2 by tmobile in which i have fiddled. i find that the scrolling lags.

For every 100 touchscreen phone users I see
60% being iphone
no more than 10% being 5800
be lucky to see 1% for N97/min/N900...if not combined!

But yes, nokia does cater to high end, mid range, and low end devices. But they are losing ground in the high end category.

all of them has 1 ghz cpu but nokia is using arm 11 cpu even in its new phone N8!

the world says wow to it
but after that i didnt see any wonderful phone from nokia
only i have seen some wonderful phones from HTC&SAMSUNG&SE like DESIRE&HD2&X10&SATIO&GALAXY S&WAVE&OMNIA HD&etc
even its new symbian 3&maemo OS can not compete with android&winmo 7 OS in my opinion
i hope meego change my mind!

ramin, 11 May 2010i am not an apple fan nor nokia fan but i should tell you t... moreI AM IN THE NEUTRAL ZONE. as i said, nokia has symbian 3,maemo, meego, and perhaps a qualcomm and nokia 1 ghz snapdragon chip. therefore nokia is moving up.
the 5800 isnt buggy if you know how to navigate and if your 5800 has the latest firmware.
the iphone is buggy also as well. too many people have it to the point that the 3g signal is jamming or stalling.

Apple finds the most broad patents to counter sue nokia with
Apple still is failing
If microsoft and htc settle how come apple doesn't wanna pay the licensing fee like everyone else

iphone is not affordable but it is better than most of the nokia phones except new N8
i hope nokia return to good old days because HTC&SAMSUNG&SE are going up with ANDROID OS

I also heard that qualcomm and nokia paired up to create a 1ghz snapdragon. i cant wait for that.
