Nokia sue Apple for patent infringements yet again

09 May, 2010
This is getting completely out of hand now. Nokia have just filled yet another complaint against Apple, this time with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin. The Finnish company accuses Apple of...

Anonymous, 10 May 2010I'm sorry you feel that IF so dearly Corleone but it seems ... moreYes, out of the box specs, the n900, n97, or even the n95 can beat the iphone 3gs. But you see users don't live by specs alone. User experience is bigger than specs if you ask me. The heart of a device is its OS, not extra features, just like the heart of a car is its engine, not its extra features like spoilers, alloy wheels, etc. The iphone beats pretty much everyone in terms of software. Plus, convenient access to most apps give the iphone another edge over the rest. 3rd party apps make one iphone unique to another. As if each iphone have a different set of features from the other. You can brag all day of bt file transfer and fm radio, but at the end of the day, the iphone ends up doing so much more useful stuff than your nokia device.

[deleted post]You were asking how the ipad got involved on this article? If you read closely, Nokia is suing Apple for technologies used in the iphone and the ipad that they claim to be their own.

Anonymous, 10 May 2010I saw some comment saying that Nokia should be ashamed that... moreWhat the heck are you talking about? Please know that Apple is more advanced than Nokia in the OS and software department. Apple makes computers for crying out loud. What makes you think that Apple has not developed similar technologies as Nokia had? Macs have been used as a communication tool years before the first iphone was produced. How come Nokia didn't sue Apple back then? The iphone's platform is Mac's OSX. And as I have said, macs have been used for communications before the iphone. Macs and iphones share the same technology. Nokia does not own communications development. They may have similarities, but they obviously have different software algorithms. The reason why Nokia is suing Apple, is so they can be able to see Apple's technology and probably copy it :)

Nokia didn't do that they demanded unreasonable terms of Apple who said STFU, see you in court.

bricked, 10 May 2010The iphone is so bad, it gets all the media coverage, a sec... moreApple doesn't share it's patents, which is how this whole thing started.

Nokia demanded it, Apple said that is not part of the FRAND clause of the GSM standard of which Nokia is a member.

                    Apple paid the other members.

                    Nokia cried to the courts.

They will get demolished and will lose their patents in about 5-6 years hen it will get to the courts.

Meanwhile Apple will continue selling iPhones.

This is very easy to understand: You've created a special feature (you invented something), and it's in your right to protect your idea, in order to benefit from it. And then comes one guy that uses your idea and doesn't pay s h i t for it... would you be happy with it? patents exist for many reasons... otherwise all of your creations should make many rich, many others than you!
Apple doesn't respect this reality! just mind that...
It's clear to everyone that if they indeed used patented features without paying for it that you'll see them in the future paying every cent to the respective patent holders.
California invention - China production ===> Iphone is Made In China > mind this also ahahhaha =)

Some iFans said that Symbian is slow. Though i'd love to say he is completely wrong, i'll have to swallow my pride and concede that Symbian phone is slow sometimes. Especially when browsing a heavy website.....while chatting in Nimbuzz, while adding friends in facebook, while listening mp3, while downloading files, with the free ovi maps with gps and games loading in background, all at the same time.

well to be honest nokia underperforms a lot more...buggy ..slow and if u add a lot of apps songs or videos to it...it becomes pretty sluggish to operate...i dont care what u say iv bought around 3 nokia phones and iv never seen a nokia take on a lot of data and not fail....Apple has been a refreshing change for me...as for it being closed...jailbreak allows you to open it right up...granted u cant use it as an external drive....but practically speaking u never use ur phone's memory stick for it either.(mostly). Bluetooth..is the only flaw i find in apple..but thats probably cuz of syncing rules and procedures...anyways...on topic ill be hoping for apple to come out on top ! :P
