[deleted post]oh yea... everyblog every article iphone vs blackberry,iphone vs HD2 ,all those articles!! tell the media to stop writing abut that simple and borin phone than try to compete with other brands for a break ,gosh and tell those people to stop making thier imaginative phones on utube how new iphone will look like /gizmodo give 5000$ for a glimpse at new iphone,i hope he pay same price for a glimpse of new what ever other companies model it is and get sued xD /carriers luv iphone becuz lots of people use lots of data usage /benefit for them alot customers luv to use iphone apps good quality apps / is a win-win situition ...what are u guys complaining abut ...if u want a real simple and boring phone ty to get away from iphone/android/ OS .....

N 900 is kool hun...`sigh it cant even pinch zoom..if u think is kool lets see how many units are gonna be sold out.forget iphone..lets compete with droid..both has keypad..lets see which one is better...at the end...ibet is still droid....
but i think nexus one is kool but the body is quite ugly and failure marketing stratgrgy they dont even advertise it properly ..but is an alternative to iphone the only alternative .i seen even apple feel threatened ..all iphone fans are ready to change to a better one becuz is so getting boring with iphone3g-3gs same design wtf ! sumtime ...but there are no alternative ....i phone got the best touch experience ...thats why gaming platform is superior oalso other stuffs too...i ask a guy who own n900 why u change from iphone he said is kool why is it kool he said it can multitask and what are u multitasking!! he said i can sms at same time to two person... gosh and i ask why u change from iphone he said "(is locked now it sux i cant use it anymore i can use it as an ipod touch..only) i was like wtf" the problem is some users want a simple phone with alot of feature they can use it not take advantage of it.. for iphone people want to take advantage on it...multitasking was alredy on jailbreak iphone so as other features that apple forbid.. the problem is sum people still dont even know what is jail break...dont hate iphone for having alot of apps all the OS are encouraging developers to submit apps on thier stores but well still they cant catch up ..yet..hope they do that will push apple forward... xD to show new stuff

I agree, the iPhone revolutionized the touch screen market and thus started the touchscreen era. However, I also agree that Apple made use of their advertising capabilities to full effect and I realized that when I laid my hands on an actual unit.
The iPhone is praised for it's fluid interface and App Store (although not ALL of the claimed apps are actually apps) but that's about it.
Another reason for the iPhone's success in American shores (Yes, AMERICAN SHORES) was that people are actually loyal to the Apple brand. People assumed that because Apple makes good computers, they make good phones, right?
Yes and No. Yes because of the UI and simplicity of it and the apps, but that's about it. The rest is just brand loyalty and social standing (the iPhone is not a cheap phone, remember that. If you got it, it makes you feel you are part of the Apple bandwagon)
This is in my HUMBLE OPINION after all. =)
P.S. I'm no iPhone hater, it's just that there are better alternatives to the iPhone.

Every single time one of these phones comes out, you non-iphone fans mention the iphone right away and say how much better it is than the iphone. Seriously? you guys probably talk about it more than the iphone fanboys do. How about just ignore the fanboys and keep things simple instead of having an iphone VS another brand convo on every single phones comment section. ffs. im sick of reading about how much gayer or better these phones are than an iphone.

Google thought the nexus one would rule the world in the end they failed badly and started changing their marketing strategies but it doesn't matter it has already failed,nokia n97 fails even nokia fanboys admits it sucks,the nokia n900 fails due to its bulky design its not everyone's favourite device to carry around and as of today maemo doesn't have enough apps.samsung fails in all their devices they can't even find a proper way of connecting the phone to a pc and sync data n some other stuff, htc fails they can't compete with iphone

That explains why Google android outnumbered the iPhone in the USA so don't be ignorant kid, iphone 4th generation will be as same as the iphone 3rd generation except it will have faster processor and slightly camera upgrade with additional front camera and the rest is same old crap, 3.5 inch screen, lcd screen, same design etc..

As i said, nokia didnt even think about making touchphones anymore until after the iphones success. Heck all these touchphone hype started cause of iphone. And yes there were touchphones befor but non of them really made hype like the iphone did and phone manufacturers didnt really believe it. No one even cared about user interface so much but after iphone its like phone manufctrures are trying hard to make a better ui. And theres multi-touch. I bet others wouldnt even really think about that if it werent for the iphone.
And dont give me crap about first camera, music yadda yadda.

Then the answer toyours and the uSNU guys posts, read it again. I said little kids who throw a tantrum if their PARENTS don't buy it. The reason I said kids (even though that a lot of you aren't) is because iPhone is made to be a toy. It's cool looking or "hip", just about every teenager out there has one, and it's advertised mainly so the young generation when they see the commercial, they immediately go "oh that is awesome, I want one". And to prove my point further, how many business people or serious people in general you see using the iPhone?
How is having every single little thing be it's own app the beauty of the app store? But if you want to talk that way okay. I can get an ebook reader, one of 3 choices, for my N900 and then I can go to Project Gutenburg and download into my reader over 30,000 ebooks, for free. So by Apples standards, that's an individual app for each ebook, meaning sumsung, nokia, SE and others have 30,000 apps just from that. For games, I can get myself a PlayStation emulator and play whatever PS game I want, while using a PS3 controller and having my N900 hooked up to the TV for a bigger screen. So every game for PS by apple standards would be it's own app so there is another several thousand apps for nokia, samsung, SE and others. Same with RSS feeds and internet radio. One app that has all of them, but by Apple standards each is it's own app so we got as many apps as there is RSS feeds and internet radio stations. So if you do the math, by Apple standards, we aren't that far behind in apps, we just chose to have one app that houses all the things in it's category, thus not flooding our app stores.

Last but not least, I am not an iPhone hater, I just don't like the people who praise it beyond reality and can not accept the fact that there could be and are flaws with it. iPhones appeal is to the young generation (mainly) and I can understand their stupid comments, such as "iphone the best, everything else sucks", but when someone who seems to have past that young and arrogant stage of life, but still praises iPhone as the all perfect device, you need to get out of that bubble that Steve Jobs is keeping you in and see things the way they are. I know I will admit or agree with someone when they point out a flaw in my phone that is actually there, but you iPhone folks can't seem to do that. And yes, iPhone did influence companies to go make touch devices, but the likes of samsung, nokia, motorala influenced Apple to make a mobile phone. Also Nokia had a touch phone in 2005 with the 6708 http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6708-1518.php way before the iPhone.
Last but not lease, iPhone is successful not because of how great the phone is, but because of the advertising for it.

[deleted post]iphone should NOT cost a premium price, reason why? Apple make their money through their closed source apps store, in theory, they SHOULD cost LESS than open source handsets. In fact, I believe if they gave them away FREE they would still cover their costs easily, it is pure greed in my opinion. They get you hooked on the product and milk it for ALL it's worth! Still, why should the goose that seems to have laid a golden egg change, $$$$ signs they love! However, congrats to other manufacturers that try to offer what many consider to be better value for money, that my friend is the FREE MARKET!
