I hope sammy will release a similar phone early next year + below
      Froyo
      Camera Flash
      Decent GPS like Ovi
      8MP
a little bulky design is ok

Galaxy S is almost perfect, but i just feel something is missing.

It´s funny how so many people have complained that Samsung don´t update their phones. I have the i8910, and we were promised a nice firmware update that never really came. I, too, doubt Samsung. They have a history with makes false promises. Even though this phone´s hardware is great, don´t get your hopes up TOO high with potential future software updates.

This phone is pretty expensive. Other top grade Android phones are in $500-600s range. This one is nearly $800.

there's nothing wrong with the price, the problem lies on Euro, look at how much Euro is worth now. Im in singapore, and the price of this phone is still cheaper than a Iphone. Thus the culprit is Greece.

The 8 GB version will cost you 580 EUR in Germany (620 USD in US):
                    http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=198626
(you can change to your country in the upper right corner)
And eXpansys is not even the cheapest retailer around (just go look at some other phones / items).
The price will certainly be lower than this!

this phone is 700 $ at suggested retail price!
im sure that carriers will likely reduce the price..

i dont understand all these bashers of the galaxy S, is it because they are jealous that this device is better compared to whatever device they have or want?

[deleted post]Wave's pre-order price was 490 while in its launch it will cost 390 euros... Galaxy S pre-order price is on 650 euros so in the shops it will cost 550 euros or lower I believe...

Now thats Rediculous !! The Phone is So Much Over Priced !! 775 US $ .. How Many will b able to afford it .. Samsung is't HelpinG itself in the Market .. Dats all i can say !! Put it in simple words , people Would prefer Buying Nexus 1 or HTC Desire or Incredible or EVO 4 G cuz Of the Price factor and almost the same Google Android Experience .. Am a Samusung Fan , But not with the Pricing and Design issue !! Such a Bummer

Anonymous, 26 May 2010did you guys see how many TONS of those samsung phones just... morethe Galaxy S is their Android Flagship, Bada is what crap like F480 has evolved into

the Galaxy A is Korea only and i believe so is the 3D AMOLED, don't worry about them.

that just leaves the Samsung BEAM which is also Android.

Since the Omnia II has hit winmo 6.5 and no WinPo7 Samsung is announced yet (we know about the i8910 look alike leak)

so basically all Samsung have to do is Update the Beam and Galaxy S/A

i dont see how this is an impossiable task? these are their only Flagships.

Yes back in the i8910 days we could argue the same, but that phone was way ahead of its time.

stop worrying about Froyo, it will hit the Galaxy S either offically or unoffically.. theres no way the XDA crowd or alike are gonna let such hardware run to waste

the day this gets rooted every Android phone will a feel siver stright from the inside

Fongy, 26 May 2010It really is a tough one... I'm upgrading in September (UK... moreI would take the Desire. The HTC widgets and programs included are great, so is Sense UI and the price of the Desire is much lower compared to the Galaxy S.

Off course it is al about personal taste. If you like Touchwiz, the choice is a bit more easy. The screen on the Galaxy S should be amazing indeed. TBH, I am very pleased with the Desire's screen. (and I am coming from a HD2, 4.3 inch) It is almost the perfect size!

And the Desire takes nice pictures, so thats not a problem. Its very good quality for a mobile phone.

                              Good luck with your choice!

And those old phones promised to get an 'upgrade' but never actually did? uh, yeah... I seriously doubt this one is even getting at least a firmware update yet alone an OS update.

In S. Korean market, all Omnia 2 series were updated to WinMo6.5.
Galaxy Spica and Moment were updated to Android 2.1 Eclair.
I don't know what they're doing about Galaxy and Behold II, though.

Anyway Galaxy S will be updated. This is true.

This is not true samsung will not upgrade to 2.2! It's the same as what happened with the omnia hd and spica, nothing is true. samsung always promise but they never fulfill their promises.
