Of course on multi core exynos is higher on a small margin coz it's an octa while the sd820 is a quad. But it's the single core that counts in looking at which Soc is better. And that's SD820
And the Gpu, none of the present GPUs could go against the Adreno 530 even the power vr by the apple A9 can't beat the adreno

Saddly, the problem here in Latam is that the Carriers overprice handsets. Here in Colombia, if you buy the phone from a Carrier with no plan you end up paying around $750-$800 for a $600 handset, so many of us just go to an online store, buy the handset there and play for the shipping+taxes, which ends up being even cheaper than buying the flagship handset here.
And now in Colombia, in order to prevent stolen phones from US to come here they stablished (in january 2016) an accord in which you couldn't buy phones from another country and bring them here unless you're a company with import credentials... then they changed that to: You can bring a maximum of 3 per shipment, but you got to homologate them with the local carriers (Claro, Tigo, Movistar maybe Virgin Mobile, which is a reseller so I don't know about that one), so... since you got to homologate the handset, it must be a handset with technical support provided by those local carriers... now, that brings another issue: Here, most people just know the most popular brands (Samsung, apple, LG, Nokia, Motorola), so just until a couple years ago they started selling Huawei and Lenovo phones so I have no hope of seeing any Xiaomi, Oppo, Meizu, Acer or any of the "less popular" brands.
All my phones (Motorola Atrix 4g on 2012, Xperia T on 2012 and a LG escape 890 I think on the same year, I've been using that xperia for a while now, I don't really have any special needs from the phone anymore) have been purchased from people who brought them from US since the carriers here don't have that many phone models available, they mostly go for the lowest end ones from 2012-2013 and selling them with prices from low end handsets from 2016 or they go for flagship phones, they don't sell that many mid range models.

I don't mind if LG brings a G5 with SD652. It outperforms the SD808 in the G4 and that's enough for me. But the pricing must be right. LG is playing a risky business with this move. I can't imagine what would happen if this marketing strategy fails.

I live in Colombia, and most of the people I interactu with have high end smartphones (unless they are "old school people" eg, my father, 60yo+ people, who usually prefer a feature phone rather than smartphones). here where I work most of us are just college students or after-graduate high school students and we mostly use mid to flagship smartphones. And I'm talking about a place where non-administrative staff earn between one to two minimum salaries.

So it just means that, we should like, settle for paying huge import taxes or take risks like that? Frankly that's way too much brand love.
My solution is simple: boycott it. Go for the concurrence instead of giving money for a company that does such a trick.
I take back what I'm saying if the pricing of the device will be far lower than the concurrence with chipset comparable to the original (say the S7 vs the normal G5), if they did this to have a mid-high end device with a nice name only. But if they have the poker face to price it like a full fledged flagship with it's intended flagship performance, no way.

Huawei seems to care though, however the mate 8 is still unavailable through vmall . So yeah, it doesn't seem like smartphone manufacturers care about the UK a lot. On a side note, we still haven't got the Asus zenfone 2 series. Still got zenfone 4, 5 and 6 available to buy for high prices

Amazing the amount of whining on these boards. I can't get the phone I want...waaaa-waaaa-waaa.
You need to grow up and look for alternate ways to get the phones you want. They are out there. Be it through websites that sell online (such as Alibaba or Amazon) or phones shops in tech malls that import the phones grey market and warranty the phones.
These big companies do their market research and look at economic conditions to make business decisions that will generate the most revenue for them. I'm living in a country that just recently introduced 4G networks and know what it's like having a limited choice of phones.
You can either moan and complain and do nothing about it, or you can get creative, show some initiative and get what you want.

And don't bring Intel here, they are not ready yet for mobile processing.

AnonD-292864, 27 Feb 2016Exynos S7 is better than Snapdragon S7.lol kidding? you must be joking... Exynos does not get custom ROM support also bloatware... Nobody cares multicore score, Single core score is more important. And SD820 is 10% better in single core and 17% worse in multicore than exynos 8. Most apps use 1 core. Only browsers require more cores so yeah.

The difference is: Exynos is slightly better in CPU performance & SD is slightly better in GPU performance. Well, Samsung's AMOLED is best display tech, but other company does't use it either. May be SD is little cheaper!

Because 'No other company than Samsung can make 14nm better'. Yeah, thats because of last years experience.
