Apple finds iPhone 4 signal bars misleading, hiding poor signal

02 July, 2010
Apple just issued their official statement on the non-existent iPhone 4 reception issues. What iPhone 4 users are experiencing when they grip the lower left corner is just their real signal, poor as it seems...

gms, 04 Jul 2010why apple is taking so long to release an update?Because signal issues can not be fixed by software, your likely to be waiting quite a while for the fix.

Less features were always acceptable, but now we have defective construction, loser statements, etc, etc.

Apple I had so much respect, but this loser attitude sucks! Apple is a cheap money minded corporation...
I'm glad that I never purchased anything with apple on it...

Instead of apologising, recalling and solving problems, they're making excuses...
        Apple sucks!!!

I have been Nokia user like since I have a mobile phone and I strongly believe that anything which does not have the Nokia logo on it is NOT a mobile phone. Unfortunately, I have to admit the Apple-heads have done a great marketing job with this iPhone4 toy. It's relatively cheap, shiny and makes you look good (just like sunglasses). Of course it is not a phone yet, but it seems no one cares... The conclusion is simple, most of the people are ignorant and do not need things like multitasking, nice materials, USB ports, long battery life etc. So do not judge Apple for taking advantage of this fact.

I have a HTC desire and my wife has an Iphone 4. I cannot believe Apple is trying to insult my intelligence. Both our phones is on the same network( Vodafone which is the best network in the UK). Yes the Iphone 4 do sometime show 1 bar more than my desire when place side by side, but it do loses ALL signals! once held in the palm of your hand. My Desire in the same location do not. No mathematical formula error or software update can fix this problem. And yes I want to return my Iphone but cannot as with alot of carriers in the UK we do not have a 30 day return policy like in the US.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010Apple is a money oriented company not an customer oriented ... more900%? Really? So they somehow make 900 times the price you pay? I think you mean 90% of the price is profit. I doubt if those figures are exact. Theres R+D costs, design, other costs to pay for, not just manufacturing costs. Also, businesses tend to survive if they make money. The signal issue is a bad one, but your comments make you look like someone who cannot afford an Apple product so you would immediately want to attack. Ill bet they survive this well, same as when the iPad was launched and had Wi-Fi issues and somehow sold millions of units regardless. I dont follow Apple, I just hate ignorant comments from people who dont see past headlines.

I laugh when people say that when someone says something against apple that they are jealous. Anyone could have an iphone, so why would anyone be jealous. I'd say smart not jealous.

do a speed test then you'll see that it actually does affect the already poor signal, or just llok it up on youtube.

If the their signal bars display exaggerated strength, even when there is no signal it should show a few signal bars which is not the case.So Apple is simply LYING.I used to respect Apple but not after this statement.By coming out with such a statement Apple is testing the commonsense of its customers.

If you don't know anything about mobile phones as you obviously don't, i'ld recommend you defer from posting here as your statements seem to add more truth to the common belief that isheep have low iq.

What takes priority when purchasing a mobile. Fun or functionality? Besides You make it sound as though the nokia symbian interface was bad. You clearly haven't used a nokia symbian SMARTPHONE before else you would know better. Iphones sell because of their advertising. They make it seem like a standard accessory that every individual must have and not a phone. Thats why they release just one model a year. They, through advertising, integrate their product into the social life of their customers. And they capitalize on the average americans ignorance of the meaning of the word smartphone to sell their phone off as revolutionary. No one who has used nokia s60v3 or android would buy an iphone.

Iphones multitasking is not multitasking. Your understanding of the word multitasking almost made me choke with laughter. By your definition, every digital device supports multitasking. Even a 600 naira casio calculator. Multitasking doesn't mean more than one system program running at once. It means more than one user APPLICATION running SIMULTANEOUSLY. The iphone 3gs and its predecessor didn't even have the m in the multitask. The iphone 4 itself doesn't. What it has is some kind of application suspend featured in the cheapest of sonyericssons since the start of time. Suspended applications stop working. It is even more primitive than sonyericssons solution when you consider that not all applications can be suspended. The programmer has to specifically code his program to pause when suspended! How mediocre. Let me tell you what you can do with your nokia 6630 which was made in 2003. Lets say, i'm surfing the internet using opera mini then i come across a video on youtube which i really wan't to watch. I don't have to close my opera. I can easily copy the link, paste it in the inbuilt browser while my opera keeps loading pages while minimized. I can do all this while my download manager is downloading some zipped files in background. That is multitasking. The apps keep running when minimized.

Nobody is sacred of sales. I'm not nokia's ceo and besides, nokia has always and would always out sell apple on the long run. Symbian users are generally rational people. They know better than to camp at stores and form mile long queues just to get a device on its release day especially when it features untested hardware(socalled retina) and a much criticized antennae design.

                                      . . . Lets laugh a little. . .

'Compromise battery and performance'. Lol that was funny. Why don't you get a cheap china phone with just bluetooth enabled so as not to compromise battery and performance. 'it can determine what apps need to be suspended. . . '. now you are talking like an isheep. Father steve, please what apps need to be suspended? Lmao.

And i thought i might add, there is no law anywhere telling manufacturers to keep antennaes as far from the brain as possible. The law is that the sars value be below certain maximum permitted. Lawmakers aren't engineers. They can't tell you where to put your antennaes. I guess you know nothing afterall.
