Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010You obviously do not own an iphone4. It makes calls. Much... moreI thought you have a little knowledge about technology. But I was wrong. You have almost no knowledge about technology..
IPhone is the only mobile in the entire industry that is made and assembled cheaply but sold at a high price.
Apple make nothing of their phone. They just use others technology. Heres a small prove:
LCD by LG.
Processor by Samsung.
Battery by Samsung.
MLCC (multi layer ceramic capacitor) by Samsung.
Varistor by Amotech a small korean company.
FPCB by Interflex another small korean company.
IPhone is entirely assembled in Foxconn that has a very bad reputation on assembling and no other mobile company assembles there except charger.
So is it clear now?
No other company copies iPhone.
Honestly no one gives a damn about iPhone.
This is IPhone which copies and uses others technology.
So, so called 'cheap' Samsung makes your iPhone! LMAO..

Apple is a money oriented company not an customer oriented one. They know how to empty people's money. They just lie around and rename an existing feature and earn profit. Do you know apple earns more than 900% of profit per iphone sold. That just indicates how greedy this apple really is.

You asked me if I am sponsored by Steve Jobs. No I'm not. Who sponsored you to hate the iphone?
I admit, the iphone4 has some issues that its users would have to deal with. But so does other phone buddy. It's simply a matter of choice as to which device you'd rather deal with. And we choose the iphone, and that shouldn't be any of your concern :)

TJ, 03 Jul 2010no firmware needed to upgrade. c'mon, it's a hardware physi... moreThere is a reason why they do things the way they do. Their decisions of the placement of the antenna is not solely theirs. You said that it would've been better if they placed the antenna at the top of the phone. That will not pass. Phonemakers are required by law to place the antenna as far from your brain as possible.
You see this is the problem when some people think they know better and would just make recommendations or judgements, when they really don't know what they are talking about. FRUSTRATING.

[deleted post]A good thing coming with the call cuts is ... that I will not have to hear you calling me!
How can you defend a phone, i or not, that cannot make the first think it should: making calls? Are you sponsorised by Mr Jobs?
In my country, the iPhone 3GS price is around 700€. Would you pay that just to have the latest Apple phone, but another side, you would have to hold another phone for calling? Come back to heart and stop dreaming. iPhone 4 is a just a buggy phone.

Apple is so egocentric (or should I say Steve Jobs?) that they just won't admit a mistake. But I guess that is part of trying to maintain the Apple cult and keeping m0r0ns paying for their overpriced products.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010Nokia have had native E-mail for ages, way before the 1st i... moreIt's not just about whether a device has this feature or not. Implementation is also important. Yes, your nokia device may have had a lot of features years back found in the iphone. But the implementation is different. Apple makes it more fun. More simple. Much easier. More friendlier. And that is why it sells, and still sells despite that exaggerated bad publicities and aggressive attacks by haters. Because when people try it out, they still get impressed.
The iphone's multitasking is multitasking. Iphone's have been multitasking even from the very first one. But they have limited it to native apps so it wouldn't compromise battery and performance. The new implementation of multitasking in ios4 is even better and smarter. It can determine which apps need to actually run in the background, and which ones can be suspended. That is a smart way of managing opened apps.
If your nokia devices are indeed much better devices as you said they are. Then you have nothing to fear. The product will sell itself.

deep space bar, 03 Jul 2010they never had anything premium
it's all a lie man
t... moreApple does use premium devices. They are well built. They pay close attention to the smallest detail. They look neat, simple, and elegant. And that is why others follow their design.
All companies want our monies. That is how they survive. So I do not know why you would even say that Apple wants out money when all of them do.
Apple does not disown their old OS's. They keep them updated as much as they can. But like all devices, hardware gets updated as well, and sometimes old OS's just couldn't keep up with the hardware requirements, so naturally, old OS's do get left behind. But nothing drastic. It's usually OS's that are 3 or more years old.
Upgrades are necessary to make your device would be running smoothly and for Apple to provide better technical support as well. But you are not forced to upgrade like you said. Think of it as a car maintenance. You need it.

Get a clue, 03 Jul 2010Are you iPhone4 users really that gullible?
I am a grown... moreWe're not gullible. We just happen to overlook little issues for better features that the iphone offers. Holding the iphone4 while avoiding that tiny black strip is a very, very easy thing to do. Most users biught cases for their iphone anyway, so to them, there wouldn't even be an issue. The iphone4 is not entirely useless like you said it is. I am using it right now to post this message.
No one deserves to be ridiculed or humiliated for whatever device of choice one have bought. Especially when it does not concern you.
You said you went to the At&t store to try out the iphone4. First of all, Apple Stores don't even have them on display dues to the high demand. How much more At&t. So I already doubt if you are telling the truth. But let's say that you are. You already know that the bars would drop when you grip that black strip. So why grip it there?

Are you iPhone4 users really that gullible?
I am a grown ass man, & I will not have anyone dictate how I have to hold my device to gain full telephony usability.
This is the absolute first time since the mobile phone's inception, that requires users to hold it in special fashion to avoid calls from being dropped. Even the Motorola StarTac, that used RF antennas in its infancy, still manged to do what a mobile is meant to do....make & take calls, & despite the fact that it is 15 years older than the iPhone4. The egg on Jobs' face is truly a welcome sight, after that geezer bragged up & down on how "revolutionary" his aerial antenna design truly is. I guess if you count rendering a mobile phone entirely useless as "revolutionary", then he succeeded...& then some...LMAO
Those cheezy, over-priced pieces of silicone are arguably the most hilarious "fix" I have ever witnessed. If you really believe that a 2mm thick piece of rubber will actually prevent your device that is comprised of glass from breaking into 20 pieces....then you deserve every amount of ridicule & humiliation you get.
Stop being such as pushover. I went to the AT&T store yesterday to actually try the iPhone4, as I am eligible for a $199.00 upgrade, & all I can say after actually holding the device & witnessing the bars drop like the stock market crash of 1929, I will happily buy this iPhone4, & sell it to anyone of you myopic, Apple apologists for a $500.00+ profit.
As an American, I am ashamed to have Steve Jobs, & Apple Inc. a part of the American economic system.
Take your Billions of dollars..Mr Jobs, & try to buy some dignity.

IF its true the iphone 4 has these network issues due to the placement of the antenna AND iphone users have seen it AND still defend their products THEN they are idiots /brainwashed/sheep/iqless/dumb kids. I havent personally used the iphone 4 therefore i can't comment on its flaws but from what i read from gsmarena its really disappointing that apple have refused to admit their mistake and instead blamed it on a formula used to calculate the amount of bars to display. My iphone 3gs didn't have such issues and been my secondary phone (as i'm a nokia loyal fan using the n900 as my main phone ) the iphone 3gs does just about every light tasks i need it to do and never have i ever experienced any dropped calls or network problems and i've dropped it a couple of times and it never got any scratches (though they were not forcefull drops still its impressive as the device looks sort of delicate) but from what i read is the iphone 4 is very delicate and it can easily shatter when you just drop it once on a hard floor and the worst thing is the yellow dots which came with its display and there are many other problems which i read and found hard to believe unless i see them with my own eyes but its a good sign apple delayed the release of the white edition of the iphone 4 maybe it'll fix most of the issues the current edition has. Up to now i don't really see the need of upgrading to iphone 4 as the iphone 3gs delivers just about everything i want in a reliable way.
