Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010too much restrictions:
restrictions to open source
rest... moreThen how come your nokia flagship could not sell 1.7 million units in 3 days?
To a lot of people, those restrictions are not a big deal and could actually be a good thing. With those restrictions, I don't have to worry about those freeloaders who doesn't want to buy their own music. Those restrictions make sure that my phone and my computer are always in synch.
It's a matter of choice buddy. And so far 1.7 million people made a choice to get an iphone.

Thats the power of APPLE.
They dont need to compensate for their mistake. And they dont even have to worry much about competition because of all the stupid people in this world.
Look at how android is pushing themself to the limit. New and fresh ideas are always being boasted in their upcoming phones. [SWYPE, LIVE WALL-PAPER, HDMI port, Mifi, Widgets, Fully customizable features, phone overall design and many more]
While what does Apple have? VIDEO RECORDING [A feature that existed long before the 1st gen iphone], FACETIME [Fancy way of saying Video calling], Background Wallpaper[Yea, even my 5yr old phone can do that], Retina Display [They are the 1st to have such high resolution screen [How pathetic..], BUT the upcoming android 3.0 is going to have a higher resolution that the retina display. Imagine SUPER-AMOLED + Android 3.0]
APPLE doesnt need to improve itself to sell their product because of the many STUPID PEOPLE in the world.
For Godsake, they could make millions out of 3Gs just by improving some minor spec.
I bet this is apple plan for the iphone 4 all along. They knew that they are going to make money out of the upcoming iphone 4s by fixing these problem.

too much restrictions:
restrictions to open source
restrictions on bluetooth filesharing,
restrictions to only itunes dependent,
restrictions to video calling "wifi facetime",
restrictions to theme using,
restrictions on how to hold it,
restrictions on CALLING "must have a good signal coverage",
these is where Nokia fills the gap "connecting people", even the cheapest n-series could do it...

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2010So the fact is the real signal was always poor and truly lo... moreThe big difference is, the iphone can make calls, and jealous haters like you exaggerate on that death grip issue when in actuality, it is a minor mishap.
The iphone4 has an improved call quality and reception. It is only when that small black strip is gripped that signal starts to deteriorate due to the OS delay or inability to look for alternate frequencies. This issue is easily resolved by putting on a case, or avoiding to grip that strip. But antagonists took advantage of this issue and made it seem like the iphone4 could not make calls :)

I expect GSM Arena to hav... moreThey found that all phones they tested drop reception BUT overall the iPhone 4 works better than the 3G and 3GS.
Did you even read the gsmarena iphone 4 review? This statement is definitely stated in the gsmarena's review very unbiasedly. Gsmarena do test the reception of the iphone 4.
However, dropped reception is defintely an unusual problem and Apple's outrageous reply definitely deserve this piece of news by gsmarena.

I expect GSM Arena to have higher standards than this troll bait rubbish.
Why don't you go over to Anand tech to see how real tech reporters do their job?
They found that all phones they tested drop reception BUT overall the iPhone 4 works better than the 3G and 3GS.

Who cares about good signal?
The last thing I use my cellphone for is making calls! lol
Very stupid statement from Apple, but where people see a problem, someone see a oportunity. In the near future companies will release cases for the new iPhone to reduce the antenna reception problem...
About Meego, maybe it will be the future, but it has a very long way to ride... The iPhone community is very expressive and there are apps for everything you can imagine, thats the only thing that still hooks me to the iPhone (and to Apple, unfortenelly)...

Meego is the future
Firefox, VLC, SNES, Skype, etc are available for Maemo and Meego
Have you seen the Developer Preview of Meego handheld? It is great and simple for the mass market
great things i have found so far are
pinch to zoom multitasking card view to grid view!!!!! an interesting innovation!!!
open running applications are seen the homescreen!
portrait homescreen can be rotated to landscape or vice versa
off course it is just pre alpha stage, stay tune!!!!! dont judge it first
