tictactaylor, 05 Jul 2010How long before GSM Arena is shut down by Apple, for tellin... moreAnd since when did GSM Arena become the authority on anyone's OS on how they were engineered that readers should take what they say as the ultimate truth?
I was just went to the Apple Store and their explanation of the death grip craze is rational. Their tests shows that it is more of a software issue than hardware. Why can't we give them a chance to see if this SW update does solve the problem.

Frankly; important is safety first! If Apple can fix it either re-call, rebate or software upgrade. Why not!

How does this sound, let people have their own opinion upon something,
everyone has a right to have their thoughts and beliefs.
And seriously people, how old are the lot of you? Stop arguing about a phone via the internet and go get a job.
Sheesh, people are so petty these days.

Happy with mine, you have to hold it pretty awkwardly to cop the reception issue, it's not as bad as geeks and haters are making out. Still the best phone I've used hands down, my Nexus although nice, just isn't as polished.

GSM Arena we need an article from you revealing info about IPhone 4 returns.
You have mentioned that IPhone 4 sold 1.7 million phones in 3 days, but now we would like to know how many million IPhone 4 were returned in 10 days. Come on it's not difficult for you to reveal that info. I hope Apple is not paying GSM Arena, so that Arena should not reveal that info. We have to let the iFanboys & iFangirls know that their crappy phne has not only made a revolution by selling 1.7 million pones in 3 days, but even better, it has created a record in mobile phone history by having X million of return in 10 days.
People get a life, dump the Iphone and get yourself a Nokia N8 or maybe some HTC Anndroid phone. The HTC Desire, is a good one. Dont go in for SE.
Cheers!!

Get a clue, 05 Jul 2010Why is that whenever Apple release a new iteration of the i... moreIdentifying issues is different from making hateful comments, lies, name calling, and exaggerations. As for conforming with the device, tell me what non iphone users do when their phone freezes? Don't they have to deal with opening the back of their phones and removing the battery? What kind of a device is that? Face it, we all have issues we have to deal with our devices. At least with the iphone, you exactly know what's causing the issue, so you can easily avoid it.
You said "should they really have to worry that their high-priced mobile might not be of any use in the case of an emergency?". Now this is an exaggeration. The iphone can make phone calls. It's only when yoy grip that strip that you might drop a call. So why would you grip it there when you need to call 911? Or better yet, get a case like most people do and hold the iphone however yoy want. Why would you use a rubber band?
The iphone4 does have the best reception and call quality among all iphones. Again, it's only when you grip that tiny strip that the signal drops. Why are you judging the iphone4's overall reception only by that small strip? That is not being reasonable but rather being over reacting and irrational.
And you said it yourself. Apple is giving full refunds to those who are not happy with their iphones. So let the customers return all their iphones then. But obviously they're keeping it. Why? Because in reality, this is a small burden to deal with that can easily be avoided compared to other phones with erratic behaviors.

I own a 3G and was thinking of upgrading to iPhone 4. But right now? I think I'll stick with this for some time, maybe until iPhone5 gets rolled out or if there's a another phone out there which would suit me.

How long before GSM Arena is shut down by Apple, for telling the truth? I see the Lawyers preparing papers NOW! Look Apple must be right, perhaps the next statement from apple is that we should all have a few fingers amputated, as this is a human 'design flaw', that obscures a fully 'functioning' phone they produce. Just off to the hospital, to get the said offending digits removed in case I ever have to make a 'call' on this phone. My first call will be a video call, to show I have complied fully and had the finger chop, OUCH!!

Why is that whenever Apple release a new iteration of the iPhone, & despite the fact that is always has issues, be it with not implementing today's newest features, such as no custom ringtone, no BT file transfer, no web flash, or no camera flash until the iPhone4, it was no big deal, & people just accepted it...including myself.
But now that the iPhone4 has been released, there are a myriad of problems form the aerial antenna design, yellowing display, proximity sensor malfunctions, volume keys reversed, & many reports of a poor earpiece, & still anyone who dares to criticize it is deemed a "hater"?
As a consumer who works very hard for their money, & even though I own an iPhone 3G, I am just in awe that people who really believe that not being allowed to touch certain parts of their iPhone 4 for fear of dropping a call, or causing data transmission to cease, is perfectly normal.
To those that are defending the iPhone's antenna issue, & just accept it, does it not strike you as the least bit odd, that the iPhone4 is the ONLY mobile on the market that requires the user to conform to the device, instead of the other way around?
As I live in the USA, & the iPhone4 would only cost me $199.00, what about the people who buy it unlocked for $700.00+?...should they really have to worry that their high-priced mobile might not be of any use in the case of an emergency?
How can one justify that their new & expensive mobile needs to have a $2.00 rubber band wrapped around the antenna so the dropping of calls isn't an issue.
At the keynote address introducing the iPhone4, Steve Jobs repeatedly gushed like a teenager in love, about how revolutionary his aerial antenna design was, stating the no one has ever made an antenna this way. After such praise, you would think that the reception of the iPhone4 would also be an improvement over anything on the market today. But, it simply is not the case. If anything, it has the worst reception out of any mobile on the market today.
This is just a "caveat emptor" for any potential buyers of the iPhone4. There IS a problem with the hardware of the iPhone4, & even those that used the iBumper, still report problems with the reception. If you live in area where the signal is not that great to begin with, then you should avoid the iPhone4 at all costs. No matter what anyone will tell you, it is NOT an issue with AT&T. I have had AT&T for 6 years now, & have never experienced any kind of signal aberrations.
The iPhone4 returns have been so bad, that Apple was forced to do away with the 15% restocking fee, & anyone who calls about the reception failure to the Apple customer Service is given an iBumper for free. If that isn't an admission of Apple knowingly duping the consumer, then I don't know what is.

Well, here in Croatia iphone did not come in stores yet. But in the last 3 or 4 weeks I was looking for informations about a cellphones because I want new one. I have samsung f480 and its ok (I'm posting this with it). Now,I wanted new phone, with flash player and mail client, big screen for watching movies like Avatar or Lord of the rings, great battery durability,etc...I look at all phones, and I really didn't understand why iphone cost that much? 3GS besides app store and screen size, cannot beat my f480 in anything,f480 has greater battery duration, equally fast connection to internet with hdspa or hsupa,I'm on facebook and you tube every day, have 8 GB memory card, using it as an external modem for my computer when want to go on net because I don't have connection at home, but I have flat rate via cell phone rate, and when I'm puting music, movies etc on memory,my phone is charging,I can send and receive everything through bluetooth and it works instantly, any photo can go on screen, any mp3 can be used as a ringtone...when compared with iWANNA-BE-A-phone4,I can hold it any way,and I have video call (100 minutes free per month) for about 2 years... I will buy Wave tommorow when finally comes at stores, but can someone please tell me,what is so good about iphones? Seems to me that the only thing apple succed is that Nokia is not the most expensive brand after iphone. But,Nokia still make a real phones, not some wannabe-phones that isolates their users. You have an iphone? Ok. You are happy with it? Ok. You have a better cell phone? Oh,well...you do have a right to have any opinion you want. Just hold it the right way...and connect it on a car battery to beat my phone...buy a dock adapter for pc charging...and keep dreaming! Maybe apple finally make a phone that is compatible with phones of your family and friends.
