23 April, 2016
Earlier he was of the view that it's difficult for humans to distinguish between Full HD and QHD displays.

Smartphone advances faster than computer, just 4 years back, Full HD was the highest resolution. Now even a 5 incher has a 2k display. You can notice the difference between fullHD and 2k. See how a fullHD desktop's monitor works :D :D :D

I've got a S5 and a Note 4 (same era, FHD and QHD). Both displays are great but I can't really tell the differenew. Ive got good eyes as well.

If you're thinking about doing VR with Cardboard, then you're gonna use it very rarely, once the initial hype wears off. You know you have to hold it, right? I don't think this is what VR experience should be. May as well not do it at all in my opinion.

Most people already have a phone so buying a $20 Google Cardboard to get VR out of it is a pretty good proposition.

                      Next up from huawei:
                      Dual curved screens and back
                      4k hdr
                      Stylus
                      3d touch
Dual camera (other one is wide-angle)
                      Modular design
                      10 led flash
                      Waterproof capability
                      Dual-screen and dual-selfie cams(like v10)
                      6 gb ram
                      Dual front-facing stereo speakers
                      Chrome color option
And might as well just copy ios to make their ui less crappy

Contrast and color accuracy are much more important for a quality display than resolution. You will get a much better picture with higher contrast than higher resolution. And it will have less power draw too. But with consumers buying in to corporate bullshit about higher resolution screens being better companys like Huawei have no choice but to follow suit.

Huawei should use higher performance GPU for their Kirin chipset.

Just trying really hard to be "innovative" but all they do is just copying samsung and apple and trying really hard to make themselves not looking like a copy cat.

But they are in fact a copy cat.

These chinese phones are not just cheap but copy-cat kind of cheap. Shame on them.

Trust me... morePrecisely this, "qhd" is absolutely indistinguishable save non-scaling text rendering. It also should be called 2k HD, not qhd which is stupid and doesn't describe the true resolution at all.

All these stupid reviewers, gsmarena included as of late, should just shut up about it. Good job ruining phones

If they are stepping up then have to seriously think about the GPU department now
Going with higher clocked MP4 T880 provided sustained performance for their current gen SoC
Now it's time to change their thinking

And go for lower clocked higher core GPU because QHD is pretty demanding tech

Why would he change his mind? I, for one, agree with him. 2K is too much, and it's unnecessary on mobile phones.

The difference is that the market demands it. If you have a choice of building a phone with a 2K display or have potential customers go elsewhere, of course you'll build it.
