I'm getting the SE W810. Not only the design of the unit is so cool, but the UI is very friendly, the camera is excellent and the MP3 player sound quality is awesomw. The other one looks so 1990.

the sound quality is comparable really. nokia sound is loud and clear. and SE sound with the megabass its full of bass (the w810iconnected to a external speaker the bass get over the temble that its not even heard, the voices get distorted) i prefer clarity over that. nokia did a better job with my JBL and Bose sound system. the setting was not that rich. (even though in BOTH phones the stereo widening are almost not noticeable you heard a *click* but you won't notice the difference)
as for camera. SE autofocus will help in close shots. but in contrast and color reproduction the colors looks fake. nokia color are more realistic. also the contrast was good.

Just read a recent lengthy opinion about how much better Nokia are than Sony Ericsson... Working in an o2 store, I see the return rates for certain phones, and also patterns of phones brought back due to user preference and/or faulty handsets. In RECENT times (and I hasten to use the word "recent") we have seen more Nokia phones back than Sony Ericssons, simple reason being that most people either a) bought a 6111 which has had a few faults, or b) they can't stand the Symbian OS, as they had expected the old style Nokia menu ala 6230i. Though obviously superior to the Sony Ericssons in terms of customisability, the public in general (or at least the UK public) don't want or need this level of detail, they want something that works as simply as possible, which is where the Sony Ericsson prevails now. Sony Ericsson menus and icons are not 'childish', they are simple and functional. RECENT experience has shown that Sony Ericsson phones are getting more reliable, so I have high hopes for the future of this companys portfolio!
As for the battle between these two phones, the W810 will win hands-down due to the Walkman factor, and the autofocus on the camera, but at least Nokia are trying something different with the twisty keypad. I agree that, in terms of customising and general use with other programs, the Nokia will be miles better. But that's not what the people with the most disposable income are after...

My choice: w810 all the way!!!
Walkman feature, better camera quality, double internal memory, more memory capacity, smaller, lighter and most importantly for me, looks much nicer!!!

I would go with the w810 i duno how people say SE is a poor company b/c ive had there phones, motorolas, samsungs and i believe that SE was the overall best also, i did you see the damn talk time on the Nokia 3250 3hrs......thats terrible, its even less if you use the features, at the time all i can say is the battery life is a major set back for nokia otherwise the competition would be stiffer.

yup i agree wit XxX ...quite true..and 3250 is more unique becos of the music keys and spinning keypads..but w810i has better sound and camera(as seen in the other walkman phones)so its either design or feature quality..i guess we'll have to wait for the review then!!

The roots of Nokia go back to the year 1865 with the establishment of a forest industry enterprise in South-Western Finland by mining engineer Fredrik Idestam. Elsewhere, the year 1898 witnessed the foundation of Finnish Rubber Works Ltd, and in 1912 Finnish Cable Works began operations. Gradually, the ownership of these two companies and Nokia began to shift into hands of just a few owners. Finally in 1967 the three companies were merged to form Nokia Corporation....

truly amazing, just come to think of it, nokia a forest industry enterprise before, how they manage to become d no. 1 maker? answer: dedication, excellent after sales customer service; innovativity, creativity, originality, durability, user friendliness of their products plus much more made them on top! one thing is for sure, you won't find those 'trait' on other manufacturers!

I'd say the Nokia is much more of a 'toy' than the Sony, what with it's crappy build quality and audio and that pointless twirling thing that's just break in the first week. Poor, Nokia, Poor...

market share tells the whole story and the TRUTH nobody can deny that nokia is the no. 1 handset maker with a whooping 35% and Sony Ericsson is only at no. 4 or no. 5 with a market share of < 12.1% whereas motorola doing better with a market share of 17.8%, with that said motorola needs (around) to double its market share to b d worldwide leader in the mobile phone arena whilst sony ericsson needs a very big help in selling their "toy phone" like models so they can even beat samsung d no. 3 maker! millions of nokia customers can't be wrong in buying models from them bcoz they know for a FACT dat nokia's software (ease of use, logical/essential functions, interoperability in networks/downloads/apps/games and REAL phone functions) are FAR WAY BETTER (does not even come close) than those found on sony ericsson's childish menu icons, unable to view SIM and phone memory in contacts at the same time, unable to save more than 1 entry in a field on a name (e.g. 2 office nos., 2 fax nos., etc. under 1 name) sometimes very low earpiece volume when having a phonecall (K750) and d stupid msg alert thing when u set a mp3 file as a msg alert tone it stops after around 10 seconds even if d file is longer! those are some of d reasons y SE users end up in switching back to their previous brand like nokia, motorola, samsung et al making SE's market share to be on a stasis state! let's all face it, nokia is strong at those aforementioned factors which is very crucial in this mobile phone business, even if u put a 10mpx CCD sensor on a cellphone with a megabass sound of sony but d device is quite hard or not easy to use, that device will not sell well and have very low volume in sales! for me, nokia has d best all in one balanced set of features (be it, phone features, multimedia, compatibility, durability, ease of use, OS, etc..) making them the unbeatable no. 1 mobile phone maker on Earth! "sony ericsson needs alot more of eating so they can catch up, perhaps..."

Dude if the W810 is poor it means you really hate SE.With that in mind pls keep your comments for yourself.SE phones are very well built and have great functionality even thought it lacks OS.
That being said go for the W810 you will be impressed...

Mabye if Nokia were able to make decent software themselves they wouldn't have to use symbian all the time! Nokia had their shot at being the best- now it's long since over, move aside Nokia your time is up!

sony ericsson W810 sucks BIG TIME! 3250 is d best choice for me coz it supports eAAC+ and WMA audio codecs plus creating of playlist on the phone itself and sending thru bluetooth plus "REAL" dedicated music keys for ease of use can W810 do that all?? i don't think so! nokia 3250 u are really way better than W810! remember dat we're dealing with symbian 9.1 FP1 with the ability to update/upgrade phone software OTA (over the air) without going to a nokia service center anymore!

plus d fact dat sandisk mentioned dat they will be releasing 2GB microSD cards, dat's a perfect companion for 3250! forget about nokia saying up to 1GB compatibility, juz remember nokia saying about 6230i expandable up to 512mb only as we all know and i even tried myself dat 6230i works with 1GB MMC 100%!
