3250 turns out to be a phone below expectations.rather dull piece from nokia.Pretty average cam,ok music and nothing to speak of only the styling and the new os.Cell has given me problems in the first week itself wherein it failed to register to the network and went offline and refused to recognise any sim card.Havent got it back from the service centre yet!

Hi.I bought the w810i on orange (uk) and i cannot update the software over the air as there is no option to.Orange say they are the only network to not provide this feature. Does anyone know how to get around this and is there a new version out at the moment?

i juz want to clear what i said re start up of 3250, 5-7 sec if d battery is drained then i plug the charger then when d battery starts scrolling its d only time i switch d power button and start counting, but if d battery is not drained (from on to off then on again) it takes exactly 15 seconds, but still NOT by half minute!

i don't make any concrete conclusions on a product by just reading reviews on the net which is not reliable! u can see d shown 3250 firmware there was really UNFINALIZED coz texts are black wyl my 3250 shows texts in music player in white, that alone is an indication of what firmware was tested therein so all they get in some of d tests there are not TRUE but still it scored well on d quality segment even on that UNFINALIZED firmware! if a product is tested with UNFINALIZED firmware therefore conclusions made will also be TENTATIVE or u can also call it UNFINALIZED conclusions! just follow my suggestions and try 3250s available at nokia stores so u'll know what im talking about! same with GSM arena, they admitted they had tested d older firmware coz their twisting mechanism does not work, that alone confirmed it that they tested d old and unfinalized firmware therefore conclusions made therein does not reflect the real music capabilities and quality of music u can find on 3250! its quite not fair coz reviews like that stays for a long time plus d fact that negative points said about 3250 will somewhat confuse people like you... so my best suggestion, again, test the phone in reality! take note my 3250 starts up around 5-7 seconds and not by half minute as said by GSM arena from mobilmania, another fact that will mislead buyers... i can even show d reviewer in person head to head that it does NOT really take half minute just to boot 3250! another sign of UNFINALIZED firmware tested!

Before I buy a phone, the first thing that i do is read sites reviews because i need a indicate opinion, i dont buy 3250 because in all sites says that sound is bad
In the comparing lose to all music phones. I´m not blind, in gsmarena says the same about 3250, the interesting part is symbian.

                Tarantula:
how can u b sure re 3250 vs w810 if u haven't tried 3250 and w810 in reality??? besides how do u know d sound of Rokr E2 when its not even out yet?? ur conclusions are based from hear say and u can't even confirm it urself for a fact coz u REALLY have to try em head to head which i had, and i'll tell u this, loudspeaker side W810 has no match in loudness wyl in quality W810 is almost there but 3250 is still the clear winner! in inbox earphones provided, both have great sound but take note 3250 has better overall diapason! now that nokia knows how to make great sounding devices more and more people will realize that walkman phones r just not that great especially when compared with xpressMusic phones by Nokia! quality, loudness, music management byebye SE! current walkman phones has very poor music management! even if u can upgrade to 2GB mem stick u can just fit in around 500 to 700 songs coz smallest codec is AAC only wyl on 3250 even u can upgrade up to 1GB (for now) u can fit in a whooping 750 songs with the new and advanced eAAC+ without affecting sound quality that much! ur comments r based only on hear say and info on the net that cannot be confirmed 100% if they are biased or not, true or not, my advise to u is test it in reality so u can precisely say which is better! i think ur just afraid that ur beloved w800 will sound inferior when compared to 3250 dat's y ur acting like a blind person.... sound quality on walkman phones are artificial they are not natural, anything not natural is not good!

I have a w800 and I say that sound quality is really great when I compare it with my iPod, the last one surpassed the SE but is very small difference. This is the advantage of Walkman phones over the competitors (except nokia N91, moto ROKR E2 and SE W950), i`m sure that 3250 loses to SE W810 in this parameter and for this I never buy it.

You can´t compare a PC with SiS sound card with another PC with Sound Blaster inside, the quality of sound is a hardware question and this is the case of 3250 and SE W810. And is ALL REVIEWERS SITES versus VIPERKID. In these sites says that N91 PROTOTYPE has excellent sound quality, why not say the same for 3250 PROTOTYPE????
And in these sites all phones are prototypes and firmware is incomplete, and the N90 is a algorithm processing problem, Nokia fix this problem and quality of pics increase, but the sound quality is only harware problem.
If you want Symbian go with 3250, if you want SOUND QUALITY go with Walkman phones or motorola ROKR E2

                        Tarantula:
all the reviews u have read are based from d PROTOTYPE therefore conclusions made then are from d said unfinalized firmware and that's a FACT! one more thing i'll say to you, i know for a FACT that you DONT own a 3250 to make the right conclusions! you should not immediately believe whatever you here or read on the net coz its not 100% TRUE, u can try 3250 for urself in personal so u can realize what 3250 owners really mean.. i'd be glad to even give u d best setting for the audio (apparently not even one of d reviewers u've read have made the right and balanced settings, probably they used d default or preset settings on d equalizer which is not good but take note, as long as u know how to PROPERLY tune up each band of d equalizer u'll be amazed!) so u can subjectively compare!

"Mediocre audio quality and music management evoke a feeling of music functionality having been an afterthought"

3250 owners will never believe that comment re audio quality plus d thing with mediocre music management, u know y? can walkman phones search (by typing first letters), categorized by genre, title, artist, album, composer of track/s on d music library plus d ability to recognized ID3 tags??? 3250 can do that all 100%, i don't know with current walkman phones....? that's what u call mediocre??? i dont think so that's what i call "excellent" music management in 3250!

I compare the sound quality from nokia 6270 (stereo sound with 2 speakers), sony ericsson w800 (walkman) and nokia 3250 phone...
I found that the incredible and loud speaker from 3250 can't compare with any other device such as nokia's 6270 or se w800...
You can hear songs (even radio) clearly and loudly..
i have already bought nokia's 3250 and i'm very happy, not only for the sound quality, but also for the battery life which lasts 4 days with normally use..
The only problem is the nokia's s60 3rd operating system, which doesn't let me to install older applications onto my phone..

Its strange, but all reviewers sites says that 3250´s sound quality is mediocre and inferior to walkman phones (include cheaper w300). The reviews are clear, this is the fact. In terms of sound quality this phone is bad, this is generalized conclusion.

The embodiment of mediocrity, Nokia's 3250 isn't a particularly bad music phone - it's just not a very good one, either. Mediocre audio quality and music management evoke a feeling of music functionality having been an afterthought, yet the handset surprisingly shines with regard to synchronization. 512 MB of memory is a decent amount at the time of writing, and the stereo FM radio is a nice touch - but nothing to write home about. In fact, the most attractive aspect of the 3250 is its ability to run powerful 3rd party applications and games, as well as its innovative yet bulky design.

mobile-review's and another site's review of d 3250 is based on a "PROTOTYPE" like wat they did on N90 (d video clips taken looks terrible, but in reality is great coz my cousin has N90). i have 3250 for 2 weeks now and all i can say is its an excellent music phone! i challenge d reviewers to do another review based on d "real" 3250 found on authorized nokia stores and not just by making conclusive statements about a prototype, i can even give them the best settings for HS-20 earphones to make them realize dat they r a bit impatient not to properly adjust equalizer settings, stereo widening and d bass boost to give dem d right conclusions and not to post conclusions entirely based on a 3250 PROTOTYPE like what happened to N90. i knew dat their reviews are not all TRUE especially the bass element on inbox earphone and startup time coz my 3250 starts up at around 5-7 seconds only and not by half minute, that statement alone made me realize dat they really had d prototype tested and NOT d REAL for sale 3250 available in the market now! plus d fact dat d twisting mechanism does not work the reviewers said, but in reality its working 100% i think i had twist d keypad for around 100+ times and it works perfectly just wat u wanted it to do. also, they did not mention dat u can search for a track title or artist "ala" phonebook in d music library so they can say dat music player options on other music phones are better even in REALITY its NOT! music player options on 3250 are great way better than walkman phones available today. 1) d ability to play WMA, eAAC+ and 2) d ability to automatically categorize tracks (provided u've entered d necessary info) by artist, genre, composer, playlist and d like and NOT by a pile of Tracks under a folder ONLY plus d mentioned search function in music library now tell me can walkman phones do that all???

Look for mobile-review, the test about music phones shows the best, in this case is ROKR E2, follow by SE and the last only in sound quality is 3250. This test based only in music quality and mp3 player features. In this case the 3250 is worse than all phones of moto and SE

I don't see how you can really compare a Symbian Series 60 with somthing that's not. w810 is a music phone while 3250 (much like other Symbians) is not really music-ish.
Like others said, 3250 is for the business class, while w810 will rule the a-la-funk.
