Maybe you need and use radio FM and front flash but you use IR port and need good movies with OIS
maybe a need radio and don't use IR and I make photos selfies in the night
so overall... all people.. all clients together must have all characteristics in one (flagship) phone !
And is not much of price difference for a flagship which will cost 700-900$ to put a 2$ front led flash or 3$ IR port.or 2$ speaker to make stereo.
If you go flagship and big bucks how you can not put all ??
Is not a problem of money is a problem of stupidity !
Is a problem of not understanding of customers.

That's being so mean, and such kills them softly. Limits in colors, i understand Verizon has no Carbon Gray. Have it all available and let buyers choose what they prefer. Come-on HTC!!

HTC's biggest problem is marketing or lack of. Samsung and LG put gimmicks in to help people buy their devices like free gear vr headset, or free wireless charger, or free extra battery and charging cradle. That combined with year after year being late to release devices means fewer and fewer sales.

HTC and Blackberry have two identical problems:
1. Their sales and marketing are absolutely horrible.
2. They both release their flagships late. If they can't have a phone immediately available after MWC they should push it to late in the year (Oct) and try and get the holiday and end of year sales.
These two companies should think about a merger before there is nothing left to merge.

- big 21 Mpixel camera with HDR and OIS and 2tone flash and laser focus
- front flash !! Yes - is a flagship or not !! Must have all, everything
- IR port - because flagship !!
- Radio FM - YES WE WANT THAT TOO
- waterproof - HELL YES - because maybe I won't swim with the phone but maybe I will drop in a cup full of beer !!!
- capacitive home, back, task buttons BECAUSE everybody hate software buttons !!
- best processor
- 3000-4000mAh battery
- 3-4 GB RAM
So is very simple: is a flagship or not ???
How much cost a led for front flash? 1.6$ per phone???
How much will cost IR port per phone 3$ ???
Put everything there and stop silly things like a average phone who don't have all but say "I am a flagship" because is no true.

HTC, you seriously need to put some millions into your marketing strategy, make partners alliances in countries like india and pakistan, bring promotion strategy, hire beautiful girls and train them to sell your mobiles. Your only drawback is that you have no marketing strategy whatsoever. Look at samsung and huawei they are always doing marketing stunts and promotions and special launch events new and better customer and service centers. HTC wake up before you die in your sleep.

What do they expect no phone maker is taking the market. Android is a zero sum market. Only the cheapest get bought. Talking about software TouchWiz is just as bad but samsung took over the market going cheap with only a couple of high end models. Most of the phones in Android do not receive a update. Only with Apple or Windows are you guaranteed a update of software. HTC should just go back to Windows and go all in. When they abandoned windows for android they screwed themselves.

HTC is very good phone, I like my HTC 820, but HTC has problem with software, HTC can do more with Software, for example : I had updated my mobile for version (4.4.4) to (5.0.1) but nothing changed except few things doesn't count and Yesterday I updated the phone from (5.0.1) to (6.0.1) and it's the same thing, No major changes in software,I had Sony xperia Z in the past and when I updated the software from Kitkat to Lolipop, Many things has changed (Battery, Performance, Camera, Notification, More setting, and many other things)

Apple never releases product late and the update also is always on time. Let forget about apple because apple is different segment because it has different mobile operating system and they are sole os phone maker. Android got many phone manufacturers and nowadays I can see many phones with minimal bezel thickness with lower price. Just look at this HTC 10 and compare this phone with same alike specs of different manufacturers. You can see this htc got nothing outstanding and what about the price? Much higher right? So now you can choose whatever you want, be a smart buyer.

HTC is shipping way too many models in every price range, and this is confusing customers who then prefer to go buy some other brand. Secondly, HTC doesn't have a great history of supporting its mid-range devices with software upgrades (Desire 820s, "G" series phones). These have left a negative impact on customers. I am not sure about whether HTC will step up for software support. BUT they can at least have fewer models instead of just flooding the market because they ordered too many camera modules and Helio chipsets? I am sure it will help their bottom line, because HTC's product quality is actually good (especially audio and cameras).
