Just out of curiosity I've tried this myself with my handsets, even the older ones still lying around :)
conclusion: No drop on my BB 9700
No drop on my Samsung H1
No drop on my HTC Magic
No drop on my Samsung Omnia
No drop on my SE W890
No drop on my Nokia N73
No drop on my Nokia 6230
I also found some really old ones like Motorola MPx200, SE T200, Samsung N500, Sharp 802 and even a Sony CMD C1 all without a drop in signal reception.
So I think this is just an Apple problem.
As I've read somewhere else: life was just easier when Apple and Blackberry were only fruits
And yeah I know I'm a geek for keeping those handsets :)

The stupidity and ignorance on here is unbelievable! Doesn't it strike you odd that most complaints come from people on AT&T??? Does that not tell you something? AT&T are awful? If you can not see that then you are blinded by hatred for Apple!

hahahaha! Well screw you Apple! returned my phone today before I read this! I wish I knew it going back to the store as I could have challenged the clerk with it! He tried his bloody best to dissuade me from returning the crapware... Facetime doesnt even work with other video phones to my horror... Much less without another Iphone unless both have wifi, A useless premature feature for a poorly designed rushed out phone.
I might get an android, but my ole Samsung is doing me just fine and no more dropped calls hehe!

I really don't have a high end phone like N900 or Wave. In a word it can be said that i use a low end phone. My phone doesn't have wi fi or 5mp camera. My LG U400 was released in 2006. But you at least i feel very happy when this phone comes to its main functionality. For making calls and battery life. The most powerfull thing of my phone is VERRY powerfull network reception. I can hold my phone any way i want and honestly saying it doesn't even lose one bar network outta 5 bars. And i can make video call without installing a third party software. i wonder how a company say their phone as a 'great phone' when their phone have a problem with its main functionality like calling or network reception whatever you say....
i think they're cheating with their customers nothing else.

So whats your point. Now according to you iphone harm environment. And I also want to share that bluetooth 3.0 support data rate upto 25 mbps. Clearly sending files over bluetooth is better than sending files via itunes.

It scares me how stupid some of you people are being. One guy just mentioned AT&T needed to sort it out. This isn't a network problem!!!!
These people who are saying 'my iphone doesn't have this problem'. It does. Fact. If it doesn't affect you great, but please keep your comments relating to other manufacturers to yourself. Your phone has a very important flaw (particuarly for people who are left-handed), its a shame because iPhones are good at what they do. But accept it and move on. All phones have their problems, but trying to suggest that three of the worlds largest manufacturers have signal issues that no-one else in the world has noticed is absolutely ridiculous.

What children apple are!!! "i dint do it, they did" , "they did it also"! wow apple you aint the best in making phones at all! Deal with it! I used to have the iphone but got rid of it for the 9700 BOLD and what a great swap it was, and i do not have any problems with it at ALL!!! RIM know how to make a phone maybe apple needs help from RIM, not call them and make enemies!!

I`ll skip the iphone4...but cant wait for the next Touch,just imagine if it looks like the iphone, more slim, more lightweight even without the camera it will be great..my first generation touch is still holding strong, ipods are reliable....no need to pay twice or more on the iphone4 when the Touch will look better with almost the same features :D

I see a lot of naive apple customers commenting on this. I bet if Apple made a phone that "accidentaly" does not have a working phone in it, people would still buy it and defend it. Inredible:)

Apple's computer devices are good, like MacBook, iPod, ipad, time capsule, and blablabla, all is awesome and almost perfect product and we can compare that apple devices is "next level" than the other company devices but maybe for a few people feel like that and of course everything's never been perfect and always had some weakness but I think that apple almost covered all of their weakness. But one thing that apple can't be good, is their "iPhone". I'd love all of your product, apple! All is brilliant and fantastic but sorry, your iPhone is never been good as the Other phones, cause you never built the iPhone as well as the other phone. Your facetime video calling is a late feature in the mobile world cause 6 or 5 years ago this feature is already added on phone and it's an really old feature that you put on phone in 2010. I love your iPhone screen, the most responsive touchscreen phone that I've ever tested, retina display and the body materials construction and your idea to make all of your devices is all can be recycled and friendly environment material, that's "WOW" cause you still care about environment. Your iPhone 4 weakness is on your antenna design, that's really fatal, bluetooth that can't paired and send or receive data over Bluetooth, outdated 5mp camera, and poor battery life. Your iPhone is a multimedia phone and you should improve it's battery power. In fact, your iphone isn't perfect and apple must be learn so far to make their iPhone without weakness. :) peace!
