Antenna wars: RIM, HTC and Nokia strike back at Apple

18 July, 2010
That was one hell of an odd press conference on Friday. Typical Apple. Instead of just admitting its faults Apple decided to point a finger at the other mobile phone manufacturers and accuse them of selling...

RIM and HTC is a small company in relative to Apple, therefore Apple dare to offend them. Look at the slides, they include RIM, HTC and Samsung but not Nokia.

Because Nokia is the leader in the mobile sector, they invested so much money in mobile technology that Apple could not fight back.

The only reason Apple dare to offend Samsung, the electronics giant, is because, Samsung will never sue them back. Samsung would only suffer in silence as their employees are informed not to comment on matters regarding apple. The reason? Apple is Samsung both Competitor and Customer.

The only mistake they made is that they have dumb users. Nobody reads the manual. The manual states how you can grip the phone so the antenna is not covered. Nobody is following instructions. Stupid customers buy Apple just for social status and they can not read :)) it's not even full multitask yet :))These type of users have antenna problem with every brand, not to mention battery life issues.

Accusing other manufacters?! Thats the insecurity a faulty product can bring to a mighty brand like Apple. Cant believe they accepted that openly, in the public.
Listen Samsung, RIM, HTC, Nokia.. there is a sense of panic in the Apple camp. 'Make hay while the sun shines'.

From looking at these pics, it looks like they are squeezing these phones very hard. I don't think anyone hold their phone that hard. This Apple at it's best, I can't believe Iphone owners still defend this guy. First he tells them they are holding the phone in the wrong hand, then releases an update that does nothing and now he brings Nokia, RIM, and HTC into this mess to try and deflect attention. WHY won't they admit that they made a huge mistake...

I wish nokia, htc, rim and samsung would file a lawsuit against apple for tainting their public image. Apple should address their own problem and stop pointing fingers as if people outside apple's circle are dumb, they have no respect for other people's intelligence.

Apple's attitude in this problem will bring in more disrepute to the brand, than the actual problem itself. To Apple: You might have turned around the phone market the with iPhone, but remeber this happened only because of customers who embraced the product inspite of its shortcomings. Learn to respect the customers, and their interests.

I have a few phones, and of course they will lose some signal bars if I hold them in a peculiar way. My body is not made of air. However, if I want to make a call they suddenly get full signal again (unlike Apple) as it's the way communication between cell phones and base stations (cell phone provider transmitters) work - if you are on standby, you get just about enough signal to keep you in contact, but if you want to make a call, you are automatically directed to the nearest base station with the strongest signal. If the signal is weak, and there are no better/closer base stations around, the phones I (or my family) have or I have had (Moto, Nokia, SE, Samsung, even an old Siemens) will still make the call or send a message without losing signal. If that ever happened, there would be phones flying out of the window. And what we have here with Apple is losing the signal COMPLETELY, dropping calls, which is unacceptable.

I always didn't like Apple...but when the iPhone4 adverts (not the facetime...that's not new technology) came out, i wanted one. When the first round of complaints came out, I didn't want one again. When Jobs gave his replies, I definitely didn't like Apple on a whole. Blaming it on other companies?? Apple you must be MAD...I hate Apple, officially

Apple's attitude is completely unacceptable. to be honest, I was expecting that this is what they were going to do in their conference in July 16th, this is very predictable from Apple.

Apple, quit acting like you never make mistakes, before it was the iMacs faulty screen, and now the iPhones antenna, and even before that they made the most stupid mouse design for their mice in early 2000.

Just admit that you made a mistake and you will earn more respects, but NOOOOOOOOOOO apple does not make mistakes and instead they are telling people that this is a problem in all phones, I dispise apple although I own an iPhone 3gs and a mac mini (witch i love by the way) but I am completely against the company's way of dealing with situations like this

It's good my iPhone 3gs does not have this problem, but never again I'm buying an iPhone if apple does not change it's attitude. Which is never i guess

come on!!! every phone has a antenna but when you cover their signal receiving spots they WILL drop signal!!!

but iPhone 4s antenna is just weaker than the weakest antenna out there..i hav a bold 9700 and i dont lose signal just by holding it in my hand like i do with my new iPhone 4...iPhone 4s antenna is super weak...seriously apple just redesign the iphone!!whats the big deal??make it like the 2g 3g and 3gs!!
