Antenna wars: RIM, HTC and Nokia strike back at Apple

18 July, 2010
That was one hell of an odd press conference on Friday. Typical Apple. Instead of just admitting its faults Apple decided to point a finger at the other mobile phone manufacturers and accuse them of selling...

Heres some "Evidence"

I work for Phones 4 u in the UK

I personally own an iphone 3gs and do love it.

We have a iphone 4 return rate of only 2.4% but a faulty exchange rate of just below 31%!!
Thats unbelieveable! And we are now having to tell customesr two of the main faults they are having are not problems but fundemental falws they are going to have to DEAL WITH!

Its a joke tbh.
and i prob wont be upgrading to an iphone unless they sort this out as i dont like my iphone in a case i like it as it is they look great and i want to show it!

Now look at all the other manufacturer reply, they are focusing on the design of iphone4 antenna. No one deny that a phone has a weak spot, but it was apple that chose this design, they design the antenna in such a way where users would often interfere with it.

In what way was i wrong to this the above mentioned out? Was i wrong?

As a multinational corporation, you do not pin point director at your competitor when you make wrong decision. Especially when you have no stand. Did Nokia, HTC, Moto or even samsung force apple to design their antenna in such a way?

I say YOU are making stuff up. Tell me, if this issue exists in all phones, why has it never been brought up before? And if you have the nerve to say its because everyone's picking on Apple (absurd claim fyi) then why didn't anyone complain about the 3GS, the 3G or the original iphone? Why is this the first time we have ever seen anything like this?

Tell me, out of the tens of thousands of phones from the reputable companies you listed (Samsung, Nokia, Motorola etc) list ONE phone that has had reception issues comparable to the iphone4! You are the one making up lies. And if I am wrong - show me!

And the reason why this is causing more of a storm than any other phone, is that simply put this phone costs almost double that of other handsets (here in the UK a 16Gb iPhone4 costs £500; a Desire costs £350-400 and a BB 9700 can be bought for £250). A phone that commmands that sort of price you would expect it to work AS A PHONE.

So tell me, if you spent your hard earned on a car, and found that it doesn't actually work as a car and kept on stalling, you'd complain.

How many calls do iPhone 4's drop in comparison to other phones?

You are just making stuff up.

HTC, RIM, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, not one of them denied Apple's claims, you know why?

                                    Because they are true.

No offends but iphone is a rip off. knowing it sells here (Singapore) at SGD2200 for an export version really cost alot for a phone + the signal and the sensor are not stable. i rather get a decent phone such the winmo or the android or even symbian? or a simple phone + an ipod touch. good enough and cost cheaper than the iphone4. Anyway 3gs works pretty well. So my conclusion. Save your money and wait for the better version of iphone 4. Don't you agree with me apple fans? Don't waste your money now. Save until the systme is stable. then get it! it happen to new lauh phone anyway. By the way i am not apple fan but a big fan of a winmo. and my opinion is that iphone is really a user friedly phone. big vote for that.

hey steve's! just go to the market and sell apple's. people can buy it and make juice or pie. that is real purpose of apple. not for making mobile phone, looser!!
