Still. None of them denied Apple's statement that all phones have weak spots and could lose bars when gripped the wrong way. Instead, all they do is criticize the iphone's antenna design.

Apple are quickly getting a bad name! they fight with Adobe , phone companies and serve cheap shots at there conferences towards M$ to their niche market... Ms always put up with there crap (who I am no fan of , I am a Linux and unix fan myself)... its good to see other companies are not gonna put up with the dummies over at apple

apple, this reminds me of the Pipin you brought out years ago... except it didnt have as much bad press.

Doomed I tell you! returned my iphone in this morning, its just not worth the hassle. I accepted my stupid purchase but we all make mistakes I suppose :-/

good lord, you just proved to be 1 of those silly apple blindfolded fans...cause 1st of all it's a damn phone! you want to be able to make & receive your damn calls! those useless apps & games come next for me & other people who actually use a phone like a phone not a toy for fun!
& yes, "Go Apple!", go fudge yourself! no one said Apple pointed a knife at them, you're just scared cause now they're just defending their ground & your beloved Steve Jobs is in a bit of a dilemma...take off that blindfold, look around, get real & get a phone that enables you to have at least a few damn signal bars to make phone calls! & stop sucking Apple's popsicle thank you! :)

Cindy, 19 Jul 2010People give it a break now, this is going on and on and ...... moreEr, pointing fingers at other manufacturers for a problem that your own product highlighted ISN'T what you call an insult? I'm sorry but unless I'm wrong, Apple are clearly impying that what the iPhone 4 has exhibited has an underlying fault which is inherent in other handsets - true or not remains to be seen, but the fact of the matter is that Jobs/Apple have thought it a clever move to say that other manufacturers have this problem - something which has not been made apparent in any way prior to this phone's release.

Why make signal reception on other handsets an issue when it is something that he needs to be looking at within his own organisation? Why should Apple owners care if RIM/Samsung/HTC handsets apparently lose reception? Shouldn't it be Apple's priority to RECTIFY this?

Giving out cases because they 'loves their users' rather than saying they have a problem with their handset is pure and utter bullshit. "I'm sorry I punched you in the face; here have a lollipop while I punch you again"

yeah man best idea for those who own the iphone 4 is to stick an antena on the top that will definetly help and will look sophisticated. good luck

People give it a break now, this is going on and on and ............Its so old, and boring, its everywhere on internet. I mean its like Apple pointed the knife at anyone.(im not taking their part)Just get over-it, maybe only geeks will get excited about Million dollar mistakes that cell-phone maufactures make. I am totally sick of it. All Apple did was compare the Iphone 4 to other phones. They did not Directly insult other brands. Their mistake, their problem, and just remember the Iphone 4 is Awesome! Who gives a # about reception when you got something this good. I love the Iphone 4 and will still get one no matter what problems it got. You gotta use it, in real life, to understand its true beauty. No silly review will judge my decision. Go Apple!

Apple ADMITS the problem in a SNEAKY way.. this is why they're giving away free bumper cases to all iPhone4 owners.. But as a consumer, I wouldn't buy a New Expensive Smartphone with a "Band-Aid" all over it.. It's like Advertising Yourself to everyone how STUPID you really are.. Go figure..

Samsung says 'while iPhone's antenna is on the lower left side of the device'.

That is NOT the case. Actually the whole stainless steel band surrounding the iPhone is the antenna.
If you view the front side (screen) of iPhone 4, the left antenna is responsible for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, while the right one is responsible for UMTS, and the bottom one is for GSM.
