Of course Nokia will sell billions of handsets. Thats because they have billions of different phones out there! Ha ha Ok that was a joke, they dont have a billion phones! But Nokia have more phones than hot dinners and many what you call "Happy Meal" prices, meaning so cheap even a pensioner can buy it without thinking about it!
Making dumb comparisons aint a debate. 2 different handsets on sale now, still selling like hot cakes. Nuff said.

steve is pathetic for trying to blame other companies with signal issues. The Iphone has the antenna on the outside this IS the major flaw with the complete piece of rubbish. He should be fired and other companies should sue Apple to the extreme.

I admit picking on other brands aint the right thing to do, I mean address your own customers in the best way Apple. But if you are gonna compare another handset, at least choose a decent one! The Nokia n97? Come on Apple, I could have closed my eyes and touched the screen with my finger and still chosen a better phone!! ha ha

The funny thing is that they actually have to try to make other phones lose signal.. but ppl using apple phone are complaining that they messed up and they are telling them hold it differently?? are you kidding me.. get that rod out of your butt, it's clearly affecting your judgement...

What is this????? Apple is still like the old days ( in the 80s ) they think they are the best others dont. When their products have a faulty they will pin point on others. Still don't want to learn from history when they are beaten by the IBM. Apple your Iphone 4 is the lattest phone, why you still want to campare to Nokia N97 mini which already in the market for nearly 1 year. What the hell.........

It can't be that the nokia bars drops. Nokia is the best manufacturer of mobile phones. Can't those idiots at Apple see that nokia doesn't lose all the bars in such a short time? There is a huge difference in losing all bars in a short time vs losing a few bars in a long time. Why don't they show the video for 1 more minute?? I'm sure the nokia will regain full strenght after a minute. If you hold the phone where the internal antenna is placed, it will take a while to get the bars back. That's why it's called a booster antenna.

i dont know if you people know about this....but...nokia phones show 3.5g network signals separately when they are on 3.5g mode....so evn if the signal drops to 0 as shown it will switch back to gsm mode with full signals........!!!!...

This is absolutely a rubbish claim. I have a Nokia N97 and there is no problem with the reception (nothing even close). We all know that Apple is upset about the Antennagate issue but this no way to prove that you're right...At this rate the company's gonna spoil its hard earned reputation (& goodwill)

I just tried my wife's N97 mini, I only had 5 bars of the 7 to begin with indoors.... put my hand around it exactly the same way after about 15 - 20 seconds it dropped to 1 bar then 2 bars then 1 bar...
While holding it tightly in the video I then made a call from the touch screen, and it rang the other phone answered worked perfectly fine, the ODD thing was that as soon as it started making the call it went from 1/2 bars up to 3 bars and stayed there until I hung up and then it went back to 1 / 2 bars not sure which one it really is...
But 1. N97 mini makes phone calls
2. N97 mini boosts the power to the transiever to make the call
3. unlike the IPhone, you can make phone calls while holding it the way shown in the Video.

Apple's just being ridiculous. I mean when other makers say they're researched placement of antennas, it means they know where to put their antennas, taking into account how a user would hold the phone. Why is Apple doing a "if you hold your phone this way" experiment is beyond me. I mean just admit the engineers or probably Jobs himself messed up on the design and be done with it. To make it worse, they don't admit its a design or hardware fault, yet they're giving free "hardware" to fix a problem which can't be fixed with a software update. How is that not a problem with the design? Besides, you don't see Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, RIM or HTC going around giving away free cases and colour stickers to fix a phone problem. And to really make Apple look even dumb, the next batch of Iphones will miraculously have "redesigned", marketed as an "update" with the antenna hidden from view, in this case, touch. Just admit they messed up and move on. Why keep this in the news is beyond me and what makes this worst is, its bad enough declaring war on 1 or 2 competitors. Its plain stupidity doing so against everyone else.

Showing that other brands has similar problem, but not the same, doesn't solve Apple's problem. Apple is dirty company!
